The problem with push-ups is they are too easy. After the beginner level, we have to make things harder. Increasing range of motion is the simple solution.

I am starting my weight loss journey and I really like the calisthenics. I am going to be in the best shape in my life once I complete my goal. There is lots of things and distractions far as correct exercise. For a obese person where should I start my first 90 days of simple but body weight training?

I know right! Handstand push-ups even worse! My advice, take it or leave it, it’s worked for me to lessen headaches: Don’t retain the breath - try to feel the inhale coming down your neck into your working body. Don’t hold your breath as you push - try to envision the exhale moving through your shoulders and coming out of the base of your skull (I know it sounds weird). Once you’re done your set, sit up, and gently move your head back and forth like you’re looking from side to side - this will loosen your neck and allow proper blood flow, lessening the pressure in your head…hopefully.

Does pike push ups have more upper chest muscle activation?! Cause whatever exercise or workout through body weight has only been involving my biceps, lower chest muscles and side chest muscles, which go near the armpit (pectoralis tendon). I'm trying to activate my upper chest muscles but can never feel them. Any dumble or body weight exercise for - upper & inner chest muscles - lower back and hamstrings These I find difficulty in.

I do wonder how you could actually do pike push-ups at home and perform the full range of motion from an elevated surface. Yes, you can use rings or trx but it is too unstable. I am thinking that how can you have big range of motion for shoulder flexion and keep the place on which hands are positioned as stable and immobile as was shown in the video. Thoughts?

Depends on exercise form and shoulder stability. Hands closer together and further forward is less demanding on the shoulder and puts more tension on the triceps. Of course, I’m not a physio so seek appropriate advice.
