The problem with push-ups is they are too easy. After the beginner level, we have to make things harder. Increasing range of motion is the simple solution.

I am starting my weight loss journey and I really like the calisthenics. I am going to be in the best shape in my life once I complete my goal. There is lots of things and distractions far as correct exercise. For a obese person where should I start my first 90 days of simple but body weight training?

This looks great for front delts. I've made a few creative image remakes of myself with AI recently and every time i notice that the resulting bodies have much better front delts than i actually have :) Time to start doing these!

Again, another great tip
Pike pushups is a killer exercise for shoulders! I can do 12 negatives and 3 reps of pike pushup. But when I go down (negative) it creates a slight pain in my right shoulder and pops after doing 1 rep of pike pushup. Does this mean something?
I’m so ready I’m just struggling to crate a good body weight split for the month ):

Funny things is that too many people do overhead db presses only to 90 degrees.
Wow I’ve been doing these the weak way all this time… great tip!

I know right! Handstand push-ups even worse! My advice, take it or leave it, it’s worked for me to lessen headaches: Don’t retain the breath - try to feel the inhale coming down your neck into your working body. Don’t hold your breath as you push - try to envision the exhale moving through your shoulders and coming out of the base of your skull (I know it sounds weird). Once you’re done your set, sit up, and gently move your head back and forth like you’re looking from side to side - this will loosen your neck and allow proper blood flow, lessening the pressure in your head…hopefully.
Pike pushups are difficult. The small front deltoids are a weak muscle. At least for me.
if you're a beginner and you're able to do a pike pushup you are not a beginner
Also it's not very healthy for your shoulder rotators

Yo! You can progress immensely just on the floor my friend. Have your heels against a wall & over time bring your feet & hands closer together. I started at 5x12 at 36" now I'm at 4x8 at 25" once I'm below 20" I think I'll have built a good foundation for the HSPU.

Get a pair of paralletes and put your feet on a chair. You won't quite get the same depth as he does with his setup, but it is a pretty big improvement.
it looks like you have a slight imbalance in your scapulae there, check the end, your right shoulder is noticeably lower
Does pike push ups have more upper chest muscle activation?! Cause whatever exercise or workout through body weight has only been involving my biceps, lower chest muscles and side chest muscles, which go near the armpit (pectoralis tendon). I'm trying to activate my upper chest muscles but can never feel them. Any dumble or body weight exercise for - upper & inner chest muscles - lower back and hamstrings These I find difficulty in.
I do wonder how you could actually do pike push-ups at home and perform the full range of motion from an elevated surface. Yes, you can use rings or trx but it is too unstable. I am thinking that how can you have big range of motion for shoulder flexion and keep the place on which hands are positioned as stable and immobile as was shown in the video. Thoughts?
I do this at my bed 😅. No other place where i can get that full rom
Well if you don't have a singular stair, you can grab onto some dumbells. Probably not as good but yeah.
"seemingly easy" jeah shure 😅 do for example 20 of them 😅😮 that would be sick If performed good 🤔 ITS really crazy He IS a fit Guy 👍Respect for that state

My senior physio said he doesn't like this range of motion because after you hit 90 degrees, the tricep stops working. Shoulder injury risk increases substantially.
@kristiangurholt59
Жыл бұрын
Depends on exercise form and shoulder stability. Hands closer together and further forward is less demanding on the shoulder and puts more tension on the triceps. Of course, I’m not a physio so seek appropriate advice.

Wait yall I got a question. I've been trying to shorten the distance between my hands and feet to eventually get my hips almost above my hands cause I'm pretty flexible. Should I prioritze range of motion first?
I tried push ups with some big dumbbells to give me extra range of motion and it was fucking hard much more harder than normal push up

I'll have to try this. As a BBoy, we're always looking to increase our range of motion and transferable strength so that we can rock out in the abstract. In my 17 years on the scene, I've never seen a BBoy do this for training, I'm always looking for a new edge, this one looks promising, especially for refining explosive strength. Thanks!
