The Odds Weren't Ever in His Favor

Blitzen was pulled from the shelter just before being euthanized. When he got to Dr. Karri, he was so sick with Parvo that he could barely lift his head. Parvo Virus is completely preventable with routine vaccines, so PLEASE vaccinate your fur babies so they don't suffer like Blitzen.
Blitzen is available for adoption through Dallas Pets Alive: dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adop...

This is why I could never become a vet... I would end up with over a thousand dogs because I know I would never let go

So sad that the shelter was going to kill him for vomiting and the runs. What a beautiful boy.

I thought he wasn't going to make it based on the title. Glad he pulled through!! He looks like my kind of dog I would adopt.

I adopted a puppy and it got sick after about a week. He had Parvo. Everyday the vet would say we need more money to treat him for another 24 hours. He was sick at the vet for about 5 days and we would visit him twice a day. He was in iso, but the vet techs would hold him up to the window. $3,000 and 5 days later, he came home. Scout fully recovered and will be turning 11 soon. Money well spent. Thank you for taking care of Blitzen!

Straight up - it hurts me to see the Animals in so much pain. For every success story, there's like 10 bad endings for the rest & it sucks. If there was only a wish out there to make sure all critters are loved and never feel pain - I'd take it. 😢😢😢

It physically hurts me that it has been 5 months and this sweet guy hasn't found a home yet. I can't adopt him as I'm living in an apartment building that doesn't allow pets, but if I could I most definitely would.
