3 of my dogs were rescues and one of them was abused so yeah its really awful. That's why we need good people like these to rescue as many of these poor pets as they can who were just dealt a bad hand. Because there are no bad animals and like I've seen on here not nearly as many hopeless cases as they might look at first glance, it just takes time, effort, and lots of love to give these pets a better life to let their true loving nature shine through! :D

I’m glad to see that Dr Matt is still around helping the animals. I was afraid that he had been away from it for so long that he had forgotten how to be a veterinarian entirely. That would have been sad because he’s a great veterinarian!

The only thing that makes me mad about these videos is how people can neglect any animal like this. Keep doin what you do. Try to save them all.

I hope he gets a long-term home quickly.

holy hell he's so freaking awesome for being malnourished and being sick he just wants hugs and what ever he can eat. glad he got a good team to bulk his body up and remove the heart worms.

And i literally could only hug him and cry not wanting to let go... and even now i am getting tears in my eyes thinking back

lich_boss I totally feel your pain. Maybe you have adopted another dog at this point? I had to let my 19,5 year old border c-mix go when he had a major stroke, now about 12 years ago. Still miss him like hell..

I think it is safe to say he is a basset mixed with some Mountain Dogs because most mountain dogs have rear dew claws not all breeds do. breeds like Pyrenees st. Bernard Bernese Mountain Dogs Swiss Mountain Dog ext only have rear few claws. he's super cute. the pyr has a curly tail also

I have seen shih tzus with them, terriers, and corgis with them. My beagle also looks like he had rear dews at one point that were removed. I don't know how common it is in other breeds, but it is probably more common than one would think and sometimes they have bone attached like an actual toe but other times like on this dog it is just no better than a skin tag with a nail growing out of it. It's a weird throw back gene that crops up. Great Pyrs, Beacerons and Briards are most famous for their rear dew claws because they have two rear dew claws. I don't see a stitch of Pyr in him. Maybe a Border Collie/Corgi, or a Basset/Lab, or Puggle/Lab, who knows what. He's super cute though.

A year and 4 months ago, my family rescued a Great Dane off of a Reservation (they were going to put her down). She had kidney stones, worms, a porcupine needle in her nose, and weighted ~30lbs underweight. She is completely fine now and is the happiest dog in the world

just donated $25!!!! i love what your doing with all the animals that come in! it makes my faith in humanity a little bit stronger!

I just pretty much regained my faith in humanity. Thank you for all that you do!

My son had a Basset and this dog's front legs have the Basset knock- kneed look... The curly tail is so cute though.

That dog reminds me of my dads dog Benny. Benny is a Rhodesian RidgeBack Mastiff Mix (4 years old) who was abused and starved by his past 4 families. He was very weak and very hungry, since he was abused he always bit us but we gave him so much love and care that he doesn't do it anymore. We may have a few bite marks but I'm glad to call Benny part of our family, I'm even glad to call him my brother. Benny is territorial when males come in the house, he will bark and growl at them but he won't bite them. The only males he likes are my dad and my little brother. Either way, Benny is now apart of our family and always will be. 🐶❤️
