Consider the relation between the different nations and how their bending would help. The main reason fire nation feels much more advance is firebending would help a ton with anything involving metal / forging, and they could even figure out electricity since iroh was shown redirecting lightning. But they wouldnt be able to do a mailing / delivery system like Omashu's. Compared to that, the south pole village was looking trash because Katara was the only bender and never got to learn how to use waterbending to do ice buildings

As to why the Earth Kingdom hasn't developed this kind of tech, they're more spread out compared to the Fire Nation and have several kings in charge of large cities instead of one overall leader. That, and there doesn't seem to be much collaboration between the cities as we see later on.

Fun theory of mine: Body's decompose to make natural gas, no one was home at the temple, the fire nation dumped the dead bodies in that room which is why it's full of natural gas. The dude never got a clear look at it but that's probably what happened

This episode just goes to show the insane development and forethought that came into the show. The creators set things up at such a perfect time and miss nearly no important plot details for later.

No matter how many times I watch this episode I just don't like how the writers didn't have him apologize or say he will build in a different way then destroying all of the temple.

Fire Nation has been working on their military for decades before the war and then had 100 years to develop and refine their military tech, so of course theyre ahead of everyone else, they were already running the race when the others got to the starting line

@@TheNecroFisherman "true airbender spirit" won't preserve the history of the air nomads. Aang's kid, Tenzin, was pretty obsessed with preserving whatever was left in Legend Of Korra and Aang's just openly allowing this.

Other than that, no sense in keeping around a bunch of statues to go "Oh my! So cultural! Such heritage!" if it means they can't have a wash or innovate.

The look on Aang's face when he realized these people weren't airbenders was kind of heartbreaking. I know he must've accepted the fact that his people were really gone after 1x03, but hearing about these recent "sightings of airbenders" must've given him some small hope again that he wasn't the last airbender. Which also made me understand why Aang was so upset and angry at what was happening to the temple as well. Aside from Appa and Momo, these air temples are essentially all that's left of his people and culture. Seeing it like this, things being different or things being destroyed, is like further erasing his people's existence. Loved how even though the Gaang won the day, the Fire Nation by the end also won something as well. That ending was pretty forboding... Also, keep in mind that the mechanist basically built a steam-powered paradise. I think one huge door that requires airbending won't be that big of a challenge for him lol.

R.I.P. Rene! He lent his voice to numerous characters but was more famous for his role as Odo in Star Trek DS9! What was the last Sci Fi series you watched and loved and will recommend to anyone? Mine is "Farscape!"

I recently watched the full show again. Aang does not use any lethal force and does not kill unless under certain circumstances, which I’m sure you know what it is. Plus people from this show tend to be much sturdier than people from our world. So that avalanche move Aang used? Those people likely tumbled down but survived. Those that were hit by explosives of certain variety died. I think Aang chose slime though. If you pay attention certain characters have no problem killing. Others have different mentalities.
