The Most Realistic VR Survival Game - Bootstrap Island
Ойындар
Bootstrap Island is the Most Realistic VR Game I've Ever Played. Bootstrap Island blew me away. I have played a lot of VR survival games but Bootstrap Island has the best VR survival mechanics I've ever seen. Building fires is a one to one process in this game. Perfectly translated into VR. And the Stanley parable pirate narrator adds so much to the gameplay too. I feel like a marooned pirate actually trying to survive and just, wow.

Watching habie actually play our game feels like a surreal dream come true! By the way, we just updated the night system yesterday so you don't get attacked every night. We also plan to patch in a Peaceful Mode next week because hey, sometimes you just want to chill on an island and sit by the fire.

game looks really good, I want to check it out on the Pimax Crystal! I see that its UE, did you enable quad views foveated rendering? should be just a checkbox in UE, from what I heard. Would be a huuuge perfoemance improvement for us Crystal/QPro/Aero users.

I just adore these VR games that actually take advantage of the medium. Feels like you hardly ever get anything that feels like, well, an actual virtual REALITY. Physically interacting with the world is one of the most important aspect and barely any games do this.

this is true for flat screen games too. it comes down to being “do you want to play an immersive sim” which many people hate but the ones of us that like it have to suffer after everything else feels like shit in comparison.

IRL, finding two rocks to make sparks on a tropical island might not be easy. Instead, use sticks to make a hand drill or fire plow to make a coal; then transfer the coal to the inside fibers of a brown coconut, and either blow or wave the ember until you get flame.
@ashelyfrankow149
2 ай бұрын
As someone who has actually tried this it’s a lot harder then it sounds. It’s dooable but very hard. You also need to hit steel with a rock to get sparks, hence flint and steel

Making a fire without modern materials (some exlusions, like, we used a synthetic cord for the firebow) was our final in my highschool Anthropology class at the time lol. My group came the closest by generating a substantial amount of smoke and chars but no coal would form unfortunately. Was a lot of fun, learned a lot from it.

Thank you very much for not trying to sell us ball trimmers or VPNs. It truly is greatly appreciated! I've managed to survive a bit more than a week in Bootleg Island so far. It's grueling, lol, but I love it. Looking forward to them adding more content to the game! You can see spots where they intend to do things later, mostly in the caves & stuff.
Watching you hit your hand with the rock at 3:26 while trying to make sparks for the fire and say "Ow!" is peak realism.

this game looks sick
Nate G not being mirror brain anymore is actually monumental
This is exactly what I've wanted in a game for so long, hope there's the same mechanic with toolbuilding, like you grab a stick a rock and some rope or something, tie the rock on and the way you tie it, where etc actually has effect on the efficacy of it
I just played this using my Katwalk !! Being able to physically move through this game was such a delight! Can’t wait to spend more time in it
God I love @Habie147 videos...just the perfect way to start a Saturday morning. Thanks for what you do for VR and for laughing up our lives. Cheers dude.
Thank you sm for making these videos! Im getting my first vr headset soon and your one of the main reasons Im dishing out so much to play. You find the best games and perfectly show them off
8th time (I think) of asking Habie to play Oathbreakers VR. Its like RuneScape BUT IN VR
3:26 blowing on the fire was hilarious😂
Just wanted to say I love your videos man❤
@Habie147 I used to volunteer in a zoo, more specifically I worked with the reptiles. I can confirm, Komodo Dragons are very much like puppies that could kill you with ease. Just make sure they're fed and they're gentle pups who can potentially kill you. The Zoo Keeper I worked with loved them so we'd hang out with them on break.
love how habie has become a celebrety amongst weird but awesome vr devs, bought the game a bit ago but been scared on how it'd run or if at all with my computer blue screening if I alt tab hard enough. I now want to fight 4 comodo dragons with a coconut
Instantly bought that... always happy to support developers that actually make high quality PC VR content.
Was wondering when you'd cover this awesome game. Nice. Excited to watch!
I love sips and can definitely see his influence on you. I will definitely be watching that playthru
I hope this game adds immersive building. I want to scrap the shipwrecks you see scattered around and build a shelter and furniture out of them, or even a small boat or raft.
Did not expect a "Sips plays Stanley parable" reference in a video about a vr survival game
I agree, it is a great game if Habie uploads
“I’m not about to sell you all ball trimmer… or vpn.” Thank you Habie. You just get it.
your a real youtube habie whether you like it or not. You have a regular upload schedule, you have patrons, and most importantly, you actually put effort into your editing

Memories from beyond a coral sea is another pretty cool game, there's a lot to explore and find.

0:43 The washing machine made me wheeze laugh!!
"I'm not about to try to sell you a ball trimmer or a VPN, I never have and I never will." This is why you're the MVP. I always cringe a little when youtubers start reading obvious ad-copy like "I'm totally hooked on Generic Match 3 Mobile Game, I've played it EVERY SINGLE DAY for MONTHS," when we all know they uninstalled it immediately after recording the mandatory footage of sitting on their couch scrolling through menus.
I love that you palm everything like a basketball

Wild to see so many huge creators playing this.

The “God?!?” At 1:30 for some reason had me howling 😂😂😂
Discovering that you're a sips fan makes me like you even more
You know it’s a good day when habie uploads
Yeah, this game looks amazing and has got amazing premise. Also my PC might be good enough to run it... So again Im in this position when at the same time I want to watch you play this and hear your voice on top of the game (btw it seems like your brain cells have doubled since the last time we've met, you were shooting WWII machine gun at 4 km distant plane). But also I just want to save myself from spoilers and uncover the mystery of the island on my own, experiencing this gsme to the full. Last time I had this dillema was when zanny made Jedi: Survivor video. Btw this video is peak habie content, I love it, and strangely I missed "pause" and the overdone skyrim tune. You rewire my brain
Habie147 will probably always be my favorite KZreadr.
