The only action scenes are with Indy at night wearing his white tuxedo and charming the ladies. The first time I saw Harrison Ford in the white tux in TOD, I thought, wow that's a movie star!

I really doubt Spielberg was ever the voice of reason in the pitch meeting phase of development considering the transcript of the Raiders story meeting has him obssessed with Indy grabbing a beer with his whip from the fridge and suggesting Mikhail Baryshnikov to play Indy.
