UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE IS A GOOD THROWBACK

Фильм және анимация

In this movie review I talk about how The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare cranks up a true story into a high-octane action flick that's heavy on spectacle if not suspense, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is another solid entry by Guy Ritchie. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare stars Henry Cavill as the leader of this ragtag group, Gus March-Phillips. Alan Ritchson is Swede brute in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Alex Pettyfer is the man with the plan and Eiza González seduces just about everyone on and offscreen in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Carey Elwes is M and even a character by the name of Ian Fleming makes an appearance in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

PLOT
Guy Ritchie directs The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events. In The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Henry Cavill's character leads a ragtag group of misfits on the first ever special forces mission formed by Winston Churchill. Alan Ritchson joins in on the mayhem while Eiza Gonzalez seduces villains and the audience alike. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare plays almost as a prequel to the James Bond franchise as it features Ian Fleming as a character and, M, as his boss. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a lot of fun and a throwback to the old World War 2 exploitation movies of the 60s and 70s.

My son and I saw this movie on Sunday. It did not disappoint. Each actor played their character with perfection. The fact that the movie is based on historical facts made it even more impressive. Thank goodness Churchill had a backbone made of steel.

Did not disappoint and even surprised me at times, absolute 10 for just the fun of it in my book. I especially appreciate that not only did Cavil finally get to play a role where he was not contractually obligated to act like a generic Romantic Lead with his shirt off and making out with an actress, but he actually had the most fun I've ever seen him have, and I'm just happy to see the guy do what he loves. Homegirl had me genuinely terrified for her fate, and I loved seeing her flip back and forth between personalities like hat tricks. Can't wait to rewatch!

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned is that Majorie and Heron had the most dangerous roles in the operation because they had to coexist and work on the ground for days and weeks at a time. Majorie would have to go full method on her part. She reminds of the female radio operators who worked in Paris. A number of those tough ladies were captured and tortured to death. We salute you our brave Hell’s Belles of WWII.

I saw the movie with a fairly full theater. I do have an issue with people bitching about Richardson calling out Trump. I wouldn’t have said anything about politics if I were him, but Richardson is a guy who knows what he about. I was raised by single father from MS and my step mother is retired law enforcement (like a Lt) and I get what Richardson is saying. He isn’t alienating me. I find it funny that based on the definition of “woke” from the MAGA side today some people would consider some John Wayne movies “woke”. Let’s focus on the movie and business side of Hollywood. There is another space for politics. While I am a moderate. I am a moderate trained to survive in today’s modern world and the backwoods so remember that when you reply.

  • @CopaExMachina

Thing of it is, many are tired of being held hostage by other people's politics and it's a huge turn off to them. So much so that I have had plenty of people tell me they refuse to see Ministry of Ungentlemanly War because of Ritchson's comments. It's funny how people like him always seem to rip and call out Christians. Nobody wants to know Ritchson's politics as much as you don't want to know mine, and I, yours. If you want to focus on the movies and business side of Hollywood, talk to Ritchson, he brought it up first.
