The mandalorians whole body is encased in body armor and the head is usually the most vulnerable part of the body. They're trying to find a structural weakness in the helmet so that way they can disorient them by doing damage to his head. It's the most practical means of incapacitating an enemy.

You have to remember this show takes place after Return of the Jedi so there’s obviously going to be some empire vehicles laying around for people to take for themselves since there isn’t much of the empire left.

I think this is pretty clear. I mean think about how much old military hardware is left on our actual world from past wars/armies. Now scale that up to a galactic empire and you have an extreme amount of abandoned equipment that is ready to claimed by different factions/warlords.

I loved how Gina just Hulk Smashed through that wall.

The way Omera (the widow) had a rather commanding tone during the battle and of course the way she handles a blaster makes me think she was in some kind of army/regiment, whether it was the Empire or the Rebellion or some other faction. She probably left that life behind for her daughter and settled in Sorgan. *Edit: Also the way her face kind of hardened in the beginning of the episode after she saw the destruction caused by the raiders was intriguing to me the second time watching it, although I suppose anyone would be mad if their village gets raided by thugs. Either way, I'm thinking she's not some kind of elite soldier or anything but definitely someone with experience in a battle.*

Yes, Dave Filoni loves those old stories. He did an adaptation of it in The Clone Wars also :) They are a sucker for these old Samurai stories. Considering Star Wars was originally based one one, that only fits.

Every episode just keeps getting better and better, and also I really enjoyed Gina's character, she wasnt a mary sue. And her backstory explains perfectly why she can kick so much ass! I hope we'll see more of her teaming up with Mando!

I really liked the episode. This series is like a live action of Star Wars The Clone Wars. It has the same vibe of having a main story line but will diverge into little sub plot stories to give a little more character depth. Makes me feel nostalgic.

I think each episode is putting people who will end up as his crew. We the Ugnaught Engineer from episode 1 and 2, the Doctor from episode 2 and 3, Cara from Episode 4...…..Along the way, we are slowly get the back story of him and the Mandalorians, along with the current state of the Outer Rim. As for baby Yoda, they may want to harvest Midi-chlorians from him to put into someone to make them a Force user and potential Sith Lord.

Great video! I totally agree, this show is making people ask questions which is what I think has seriously been lacking in the franchise. Having a mystery like this is a wonderful thing.

You 2 have the best editing around. Thanks again!

Think the Mandalorians are the ones that saved him as a kid and that's how he became a Mandalorian foundling. I think that's why he's so committed to the Mandalorian way, because they saved him and gave him a place to belong after his parents were killed.

Nikki's reactions continue to be my favorite and yeah, Stephen, in Star Wars books and comic books, there's been stories of raiders and scavengers taking old abandoned imperial equipment.

The raiders on Sorgen are dog men from Klatooine. Introduced in the Clone Wars animation series.

This was my favorite episode. 7 Samurai is an amazing story and this was a perfect adaptation!

remember the Walker was first owned by the empire which means the troopers were highly trained soldiers and would have wiped out the village but since it was controlled by Klatoonian Raiders they were not as well trained as the Troopers so Cara Dune probably figured that out and saw that they had a chance in destroying it.

In every reaction video covering this episode, everyone says the same thing: "He took his helmet off where everyone can see!" Haven't you ever been standing in a bright lit area, and looked through a window into darkened, or more poorly-lit, room? You can't see anything. Mando knew that.

I think the ST was outfitted as a droid so the red-lights could intimidate and the "orcs" can utilize greater infantry numbers. It looked like it was calculating the odds of a trap over the shrimp-pond, something pilots overlook with walkers given the AT-status.

the mando really turns a new leaf in this chapter. no way he would be training a village in chapter 1. he's got a whole new heart cause baby yodess xD

The point is to enjoy the journey. I'm sure there is some sort of overarching plot, but I'm so glad they're not giving us all the answers too quickly. My advice: just have fun watching the characters do what they do. We'll get there eventually.

My guess is that Omera (the woman of the village) her late husband was once part of the rebel alliance and she learned how to shoot from him.

the raiders are called Klatoonians and they probably picked the Walker on Jaaku where lots of ships and equipment were left behind by the Empire after their defeat.

I read that the Ewoks were supposed to be Wookies originally in RotJ but he decided to change them mainly because nobody would buy Wookies as stone-age savages after seeing Chewbacca fixing and flying the Millennium Falcon throughout the whole series.

Yoda always loved younglings and training them in the ways of the Force

This is almost straight out of clone wars tv show, which itself comes from Akira Kuroswa's 7 Samurai which was a heavy influence to George Lucas when he created Star Wars. These Mandalorian writers have been going to the basis of Star Wars for these stories, pretty excited.

LOL!!!!! I can't stop laughing. When she said "I need a baby" and he just looks at her in utter horror, "No, No, No, NOooooooo!. That was hilarious. You get a like just for that alone. Priceless. 😆😁👌

The actress who plays the mother villager also played Kohana in Westworld. Season 2 was overly complicated, but her episode, Kiksuya (2:8), was fantastic television.

I heard the Ewoks were supposed to be Wookies, but GL changed his mind because Chewie had clearly been shown to be quite comfortable with technology and he wanted the Rebels to be saved by a non-technological group, so he cut the Wookies in half and created the Ewoks. Maybe both stories are true!

Maybe that women in the village that's great at shooting was either a former mercenary or a daughter of a Clone Trooper

Baby yoda is basically a hairless, green mogwai. No frogs after midnight.

There was another reason that the Wookiees in Return of the Jedi were replaced by the short Ewoks: casting. Turns out it was way easier to find a dozen or so Little People (and I believe there were a couple kids in Ewok suits as well) than it was to find a dozen or so people near 7 foot tall like Peter Mayhew.

The tracker seems to be some kind of BioDNA detection tracker ( which is why you need the number code, the code most likely is the DNA sequence number) which only good at certain distances..still need to know the last location for the tracker to work.

Absolutely love this show!! And at first I was out off by the short episode length but then realized this is my favorite show in YEARS and I look forward,tomit and can't wait to watch it, and rewatch it because it is so well done, so yes, Quality over Quantity! The one possible exception to this is the backstory of Omera (if that is correct spelling of her name) - want to know why she was such a good shot? She was smart and quick thinking to hide her and her daughter under the krill basket in the water and Cara called her a Widow - so what was her deal? Cara told us her own story in a few conscise but totally realistic sentences, so we *could*'have gotten Omeras story in a few lines or flashbacks and didn't, so was this the only oversight or character development dropped for time in an otherwise perfect series or is this maybe some future story reason? This is - quite literally - the only criticism I have so far of this series (and not a major issue at that), absolutely LOVE this show!!! Oh almost forgot - to Steves question why these dudes have an AT-ST - after the Empire was defeated they abandoned their equipment where it was, and the remaining soldiers and leaders have either formed into mini splinter groups with the leaders acting as War Lords, blended into the local people, and the local populace scavaged the abandoned weapons and equipment like the AtST for their own use (sell as scrap, use it if they could, etc), and that's why this ATST wasn't nearly as formidable as Cara described them to be because it doesn't have trained Imperials piloting it but just some backwater hoodlum moonshine runners who dont really know how to pilot it or understand how to fully use it's weapons and systems, learning by trial and error. So that's why a few farmers with Mando and Cara are able to take them out (this doesn't explain why walking teddy bears could take one out that was piloted by trained Imperials, but I digress). :-) LOL, you guys rock, love your show!!!
