Yeah, these videos are definitely awesome. Not only do they pique the interests of those who just like their music (but hadn't really cared much for the production and composition side of things), but also the people who produce songs themselves who'd really like an ounce of directly inspiration from someone who makes music they really really enjoy. A lot of moments where as a producer or as a composer, you'd go "Huh, I should probably use that".

Tim! From a fellow 25years long career musician, pianist, guitarist, producer at a time, let me tell you that the world isn’t ready for you! You impressed me by how humble you are and talented! Your style and knowledge will be passed to the many future generations and a lot of kids will want to learn music and guitar thanks to you! I repeat, the world isn’t ready yet for your generosity! I include the rest of the band also! But I need to go back to learning music from scratch haha

This kind of insight is so valuable; I'm learning as a musician, and so often I'm mystified by certain songs - G.O.A.T. definitely one of them - because I'm like... they legit just sat there with their guitar and came up with such an incredible piece of music from nothing? So seeing the building blocks to the finished product with such transparency is so helpful, as well as showing a direct example of influence from 4:07 on. This is the kind of music lesson a mind like mine really needed.

The moment you realize the hook to an amazing song was made because of an editing mistake and you can't even mess up playing the guitar to make noise.

These are the steps 1. Some say this is it. 2. Look 3. DONT TOUCH 4. ??? 5. Mexican Tim is summoned
Tim always seemed like a Griffith stan ngl
Probably the greatest instrumental track I've ever heard. Please keep doing more dark songs like this, it really works for you guys.
Playing rap flows for the melody is genius. Will definitely keep this in the back of my head. Thanks for the insights, god bless
imagine jaden smith being the inspiration for one of the greatest tracks.

4:11 "I try to make my guitar sound like a rapper" Thats the right way to do it. Because musical instruments are made to mimic human voice. 👍 Tim is awesome.
Not going to lie after being told so many times about this dude, I'm mad as hell that i waited this long to listen. Also learned a solid lesson here and that's to just stop putting expectations onto musicians at all because this dude is just a prime example of what is possible when you set not expectations on yourself or other artist's they can just really be unique. Thanks Tim
I love this! I've been incorporating a bit of a hip hop feel into the way I play guitar for a while but I never thought it could reach this level ! Especially with harmonics ! So inspiring. Thank you for everything you do ❤️
good shit bro, there are so many people out there who will appreciate this style of video from u x
Tim, this is awesome man. I think more people would buy a "deluxe" album if it included material like this. Way to go and thanks for sharing this with the world!
just gained so much MORE respect for you after watching this - i love that you basically just fuck around until shit sounds tight esp doing it in ableton. props dude
bro so that teaser was playing god!!
This was amazing, you're a genius at what you do Tim and this was the perfect Christmas gift. Thank you so much. Happy holidays to you, gigi and the pups!
Really enjoyed the insight, as an old dude who is just a bit of a chugger on the guitar this inspires me to do better! Thanks man 🤘🏻
Love the transparency. There are so many ways to approach song writing and love to see other peoples process. Rock on
I basically say WTFFFFFFFF constantly as I watch your videos. Genius writing, and super-well explained thought process to get there -- endlessly fascinating.

bro you are pure talent and genius im so glad i found out about you and have your music to jam too for a long ass time. such a creative way to play man.
Tim is such a genius! Amazing that he shares his process with us. Gotta love Polyphia
Absolutely amazing man, I really appreciate your work. I always kinda felt weird how I'm super into trap but love guitar, seeing you breakdown how that's your intent at times is very inspirational! Especially how you know so much music theory!
Really cool that you're showing people how you come up with this stuff. Such a great song!
Really appreciate your videos showing your process of composition, they've helped me break some walls in my writing a few times now.
You‘re a good person, rare these days. Much love and respect!
Awesome video! Love your band's style and your songwriting.

dude this literally explains why i rap on goat every single time i hear it dude im trippin rught now. goose is my second fave to rap/scream to wow i had no idea you were influenced by a genre i participate in and this is an amazing video i appreciate you spending time to help other people learn and understand, youre inspiring people all over the world! you are intensely creative highly intelligent and far exceed anyone i listen to these days
A lot of this just makes sense. creating different melodies on an instrument playing over some of your favorite tunes allows you to just free form and come up with things you otherwise never would have thought of just by using a blank canvas/riff. this was really cool.
This is a gold mine for young musicians and artists, thank you Tim!
Tim you are the GOAT for deconstructing your process. We don't get that from many big artists nowdays
I think every track I've made has had an instance of "wait I cut this wrong...wait it sounds better??" The best feeling ever.
I honestly just heard G.O.A.T. for the first time, and I thought... Drummer: hey bro, bet you can't play to this! Tim: wtf?!... Hold my beer... One Month Later = G.O.A.T. Super Brilliant! Start to finish had my jaw on the ground! Props to you Mr. Henson as well as the bassist and drummer of your band!!!
Pas mal ^^

Yeah um, I saw his band and thought "wow, that's a great guitarist". Never thought I'd see a producer who makes sick guitar riffs with digital production software...insane!!! Super talented and intelligent.
Amazing. You're one of the only super popular artists that has a tab store and does videos like this. You're inspiring the next generation and old heads like me :)
