    ✠ Really well done! Hope to see more of you guys. Btw there was one strict and cardinal rule that did not allow the Knights Templar give up, only in case all the Templar flags had fallen, they were allowed to leave the battlefield. This strict and powerful principle, with their courage, strength, heavy armament and excellent training made the Knights Templar the most powerful and feared combat forces in the medieval times. ✠

    Have you ever worn armor? No? Then stop acting like you know what you're talking about. As strange as it may sound, I've worn medieval armor before. And from experience, wearing an armor set HEAVIER overall than what he had (Helmet, coat of plates, plate gauntlets, elbow and knee plates) I can tell you this guy would move just fine. Firstly, that Templar was wearing a combination of different armor types. NOT full plate. He had mail, plate pouldrons anr leather/plate bracers. You can move around just fine in armor. And be very quick as well.

    I think you misunderstood me. I was referring to the movie, not the video that you made. You did a good thing uploading this. It's the swordplay in the movie that I find disturbing. As with almost all movies, there is for example the hit on 2:49 which is ridiculus for a number of reasons, firstly, the man in armour opens himself up wayyyy too much. Secondly, the other guy doesn't take advantage of the opening. Third, it wouldn't be too hard to defend against such a hit if he was as good as he is shown to be, considering he is experienced. Struggle at 3:03 if the man in armour would let the blade slide off by pushing his sword towards the oponent, (a bit hard to explain in text but it is effective) he would have an opening for the unarmoured man's throat. Over the years I've become more aware of historical accuracy and I'm becoming angry when movies ignore logic and the practical aspects of things like a swordfight. For example: no helmets, throwing away shield and knights who run slowly, but also moves and attacks slowly (very very annoying to watch, because it's not true at all). There is also the slashing. You would never cut through a breastplate with a sword. Stabbing through it would also be nearly impossible (depending on which period of time we are talking about). In very many movies, they ignore the practical functions of armour. Lindybeige, Skallagrim, Metatron and Shadyversity explains very much of these things. I highly reccomend everyone to look at some of their contents.

  • @Verdunveteran

    So in what way is it better to smash your hand with a rock so you can't effectivly use that hand in the upcomming fight instead of cutting the damn rope with the knife he had already started doing before the thief arrived? Considering the length of the chain on those chackels, they would not hinder him from useing that longword far more effectivly than with only one hand. And the whole Grail bit is just silly. This little film gets two thumbs down from me! What a piece of crap!

  • @dmadore2708

  • @Verdunveteran

    @Verdunveteran

    7 жыл бұрын

    +1532chris Well considering the lenght of the chain you could controll that sword far better with those chackels than with only one hand. The only thing the chackels would prevent him from doing would be proper half-swording. You would however NOT be able to handle a zweihänder like that with only one hand very effectivly at all. And a Knights Templar would know that if he would have had any experience in using a longsword. But I guess you don't know anything about fighting with a longsword do you? Guess you are the one not beeing too bright! Regarding the so called Holy Grail it's just another religious relic to me, not an object with magical powers such as healing. But I guess if you believe in that a jewish carpenter nailed to a cross some 2000 years ago was the son of a god you might believe in the grail myths aswell. I don't! I'm bright enought not to believe in such fairy tails. To me that's just silly.

  • @MDP1702

    @MDP1702

    5 жыл бұрын

    +Verdunveteran Well cutting that rope with that knife would actually take a while, so injuring his hand to be free more quickly isn't bad thinking (especially if you know the grail can heal the hand and losing the grail would be worse than death). I first wondered why he did it to his right hand, but I assume he's left and I assume he has trained to fight with that sword in just one hand (even if it's worse than 2 hands) just in case it's ever needed. And maybe he knew his opponent wasn't a good fighter either. The holy grail often is attributed to be able to heal wounds and sometimes even give eternal life. This is a story, not a documentary, it nowhere says it's supposed to portray reality. I guess you never watch any series or movies where some magic/wonder is involved, because it's silly.
