It is awe-inspiring to even imagine the time it took to set all of this up. The choreography, the props, the setting, the actors, the costumes, the script, maybe thousands of man hours, all to create a video less than half an hour long, all done out of pure, raw *_PASSION_* . Absolute respect to all involved, and a laudable middle finger to Hollywood's abomination they dared call a "movie".

I think it can be canon to me as well. The only strange thing to me is... *SPOILER!1* ... Teleportation at the end but I do understand that the reason is purely technical - they made predator to return to the ship this way just like it was done in early Star Trek because of the limitations. Just there it was technical but here a budget one.

I was expecting something cheesy but I must say this really was an impressive feat and has stood up well for six years. Better than Shane Black's The Predator and had more heart and soul into it. Love the writing of the banter between the Templar Knight and the Catholic Priest showcasing what many of us have assumed the Roman Catholic Church prioritizes over everything else (and this is coming from a follower of the Roman Catholic Faith). Also extreme kudos for not ending the film with the Predator getting killed by a lucky blow from Thomas, who was clearly outmatched, and Sied wisely showing that he was not a threat to the Predator after sheathing his weapon. Showing the Predator as an honorable sportsman that adheres to a agreement is also noteworthy.

@@crayladrawshnick6232 That's why, ironically, the Predator is the one movie monster that your average joe is most likely to survive an encounter with. It's not a mindless murderer. It has no interest in killing people who can't--or won't--fight back. Hell, if you're a weak and helpless nobody threatened by an armed maniac, a Yautja would (albeit unintentionally and entirely incidentally) save your life. Out of all the post-Michael Myers "indestructible and relentless" type of horror movie antagonists, they're ironically the most human.

Definitely anit-western and anti church, etc. Maybe Islam really is the "religion of peace," as W clumsily attempted to assert to appease our "friends" in the middle east as we were flooding the area with several hundred thousand occupying troops. First time I have seen an al-queda recruitment video, err... I mean an independent interpretation of a sci-fi classic. Lol. interprInterestingly, many comments say that this is a rehashed story. Hopefully you can all see the bigger pictue/ideological/religious/political implications all over this movie....err...propaganda video. In reality,"Muhammad," or whatever his name was would have cut off all their heads, strapped a bomb to horse ridden into the middle of the initial encampment, dismounted screaming God is Great and killing as many civilians as possible to get to his 72 new 12 year old wives in heaven (72 Wives?! F that. 1 wife is a nightmare. I don't need a whole army of them nagging me). Then years later, ed Snowden releases secret evidence that the whole thing was a "false flag," set up by the CIA and the US military industrial complex. Lol. And the cycle repeats...

I don't think I've ever seen such a professional fan film before. There are so many elements which normal amateurs wouldn't be able to do, such as the numerous aerial scenes, consistent believable acting, storyline, editing, location, period wardrobe etc. If I were to nitpick, I'd say the Predator was slightly short, and I don't think a sword would penetrate his stomach so easily and the lights in the night fight were a bit too bright. But otherwise it was a totally pro effort, and I could see this becoming part of Predator canon, because IMHO it's just that good.

Alright, let me give this movie my professional opinion: You can clearly see it's fan made because there are no special effect everywhere, but this is actual a good thing. Long gone are movie who feel real and not just painted to look like real. Script is mostly average, but it is well done. No stupid lines anywhere ( praise be! ), and everyone really put effort into their roles and it turned up in a way that every character feel real and fits his role perfectly - good job there :) Now as far as story goes, it's well written. A really average story when it comes to Predator movie but really well written. There were no crazy, out-of-this-world crazy stunts that we see from Hollywood. Every kill felt in place and like Predator would do it. And I am glad to finally see a movie where female character was not given safe ticket to act like love interest to main protagonist. Her role was just, she is skilled and she fought and died with honor in the end. Excellent job to that guys. Everything felt like real - even Predator moves. Aldo I lost it when he drew sword, I LMAO xD Also love the sword-fight, it was simple and it was realistic as in it shows how superior Predator is to Humans. And I also like how you added teleportation in the end, that's something new and cool. :D And I noticed that you used scene from Predator 1 when Predator runs away. But I greet this because I know it would be hard to do it for real so why not use previous material when you can? The best part is of course Templar and Predator fight. I liked every moment of it and I liked it's conclusion. How they played to Predator's sense of honor to survive, that was just ingenious. And even if movie lasted for 27 minutes I felt like it was over and hour, so the atmosphere that movie created was great in that regard, aldo some scenes felt liek rushed. The only think that movie lacks is Hollywood level special effects, but in this case the movie felt much better than to actually have them. Other thing it lacked was duration, it really felt like it could be 30 minutes longer. But giving that this is a fan movie it's understandable. Overall, my score for this movie is 4.8/5. Really good fan movie that is true to franchise and that do it justice. The times are coming when fans will start using current available technology to create better movies than the production house that owns licence for them. Good word guys, and I hope that you will have energy and will to do one more in the future. :D

2SSSR2 Thanks for the detailed comments and glad you enjoyed it. Great points. Just wanted to say when the predator runs off that was actually our own effect shot, not from the first movie hehe. We had over 50 vfx shots in the film but tried best to make them not stand out : ) . We originally also planned to make a slightly longer/detailed version but we worked with our kickstarter budget, which was short of what we needed.

Just seen this for the first time. Lets stop with the "fan film" thing and call it what it is. This is a high quality low budget film that tells a better story than Hollywood can. The characters are believable, settings great, with special effects where needed. Seriously why does big movie productions have to spend millions when they can do these people done for a budget? Make this an hour and twenty minutes long and you could pack movie theaters with this kind of work.

Oh, there is a wasted one, when Predator pulls the Templar to itself - how? And not kills him straight away... Why not? :-) As well as Predator walking away into the forest, just like that, without any particular reason, and not even carrying his previous trophies (like woman's head, with her beautiful hair)... And many more. Also - subtitles are rather delayed, if not late... ;-) Anyway - it's still a high quality short movie!

This blurs the lines between "fan made" and hollywood studio production... wow, the only thing that could have taken it over the top is some amazing looking establishing shots. Other than that, they deserve whatever money they ask for, for their campaigns.

This is a super well made short movie. As a history buff / amateur armchair historian I have 2 small issues with the “Saracen” character and the main “Templar” character. First off templars, especially templars that served in the holy land were not by and large biased or racist against saracens, many templars spoke Arabic and became well versed in the ways of Arabic culture, second about the Saracen, first off anyone with the balls to travel that far outside the Middle East during that time had balls, let’s say a person of the caliber (Saracen or not) is not going to do a last minute run away. Especially if his job is to advise the hunt against this predator. Also I’m just thinking about this as I’m typing, wouldn’t the order have a proper Templar detachment going after this “devil”? Instead they it seems they sent the cannon fodder, not to mention even tho many Norse cultures had warrior women and or “shield maidens” at the time, the rest of Western Europe and especially a religious military order like the Templars would never have a “women at arms” so to speak.

This is just further confirmation that future Predator films should be period pieces, set throughout history. It would be a significant departure from most in the genre, and it would be interesting to see how others interpret the Predator. Loved how the knights thought it was a demon or the product of witchcraft. Seriously, I heard about the plot of Shane Black's The Predator and it seems like yet another step backwards. It takes place in the suburbs and has little kids involved. I'll give it a fair chance, but dammit I want to see a Predator movie taking place in Ancient Egypt, or against pirates(Predator 2 anyone) WW1, WW2, Korea, Nam, heck those are just the American conflicts. So much opportunity beyond the stale formula or pitting the Predator against the Alien.

The Yautja would be observing the human's technology level and warfare tactics while hunting the MVPs of both the Taliban and US special forces. Yautja should be impartial in a human conflict, I'm not sure if they would move to stop a massacre or how they'd deal with thermal drones in the skies.
