Absolutely. The days when giving your word was the most serious promise you could ever make. One of my favourite movies is "The Wild Bunch". The main characters in it are all pretty despicable but loyalty towards your friends and honour are central to it. I recommend that you look at "The Wild Bunch - His Word" and "The Wild Bunch (5/10) Movie CLIP - When You Side With a Man". Better still watch the whole movie, it's recognised as a true classic.

Saladin was famous for never sparing the lives of the Templars. Famously, at Hattin, he beheaded every surviving warrior monk.

Didn’t know that ,then once again Ridley Scott got it wrong again in his movie kingdom of heaven , in that salidin respected Christian’s. Did he ever spare a garrison ? Christian’s didn’t, women and children were killed

Ya well for how long? Muslims had it for over a thousand years. Everyone else was a short period of time. The land will revert back to its true owners eventually since it's in their backyard.
