One of the better fight scenes of the film.

I have read myself an old Arab text speaking of the Templars, it described them as the most valiant and brave fighters among the Crusaders, they were the ones to stand their grounds till the end, even in a losing fight.

I've read several accounts of knights and their horses. They were considered a labor of love to maintain and the knight's most trusted companion; where their fellow knights would abandon or betray them, their horses did not. To kill a knight's horse was one of the greatest forms of dishonor.

A main character WEARING his mail coif? Like actually over his head and not just letting it dangle like a hoodie?

Years ago two of my friends got into a fight. One got knocked out the other didn't get touched. The one who lost regained his sense then pushed the winner's motorbike over. This scene is 100% historically accurate.

Arn the Templar through all the cheating and wickedness, did his job and duty to protect what he believes in. A fine lesson, thanks for this.

Coward didn't even have the balls to attack him when his back was turned, it took all the courage he had just to stab Arn's horse

This scene is totally cool! But as a Templar nerd, I'd like to point out that Arn's cross symbol is actually that of the Order of Christ. The Temlar cross was just solid red, without the central white cross.

If I was an incompetent with the sword I might have thought twice about the cowardly killing of the horse of the man who had just downed me and my two fellow soldiers.

I have watched this film many times. It was extremely well made and the acting is second to none. If you haven't seen it then your missing out on a wonderful film experience.
