Same here, Björn is my eldest son's name so this scene literally makes my eyes well up. My youngest is named Thorfinn, named after another famous Viking.

By far one of the best scenes in vikings... The music, the ensemble, the acting, the brothers realising their older bros an absolute unit, everything about this scene resonates with me

One of the saddest scenes ever is when ragnar is sailing for the second time to france and glances over to a nearby shore and has an illusion that’s it’s his old farm. Seeing Lagertha, boy bjorn, athlestan and gyda just smiling at him and ragnar broken really makes me legit cry

This was amazing. I loved Bjorn from the first scene to his last. But for me, he was always his mother's son more than he was Ragnar's. I've always seen more of Lagertha in him than I ever saw Ragnar. He went out a legend. Such a beautiful, moving scene.

Just to be clear Bjorn was son of Ragnar Lodbrok king of the danes, as a son of the king he was forced/sent away from his home to reinforce the king's authority later becomming king of sweden. so no he was'nt the true king of norway.

So yeah. 1. King Björn did never fought any ”Russians”, 2. King Björn were a king of Sweden were he lived in Birka. Björn’s grave is also located in Sweden… But nice story bro, still enjoyed it.

bjorn is honestly one of my favorite characters of all time. truly a great man and warrior

Saw this scene on a short and it made me watch Viking for the first time. Awesome show!

Easily one of the best scenes made for television. Bjorn's story throughout Vikings was the best, rivalling Ragnar's.

(BTW, the actress who plays Gunhild is really Norweigan, was an Olympic swimmer, AND her REAL last name is, get this, "Ragnarsdottir," that's right, Ragnar's daughter!!! Talk about being BORN for a certain role!) SHE was truly meant to be Bjorn's life partner. She alone was made of the exact same cloth as Lagertha-- but without the jealousy gene. That she chose to "swim to Valhalla to be with Bjorn," rather than be one of two queens of Norway to Harald Finehair's king, says it ALL. Lagertha partnered with a few other men, that's how she became an Earl after all, and at least one woman in the years after she left Ragnar. Her loyalty to Bjorn was made of even stronger stuff than Lagertha's loyalty to Ragnar.

King Björn you mean. His name has no "O" in it. "Ö" is a Swedish letter of the alphabet, pronounced "uhrr" almost like a growl. It it not an accent or an umlaut ovet the "O". It is it's own letter altogether. I know it shouldnt bother me, but Björn happens to be my eldest son's name and virtually no one spells it properly.

This single scene is more epic than the whole 8th season of GoT

One of those moments when a scene actually is more then the show itself. This for me was part of the reason I loved the show, and Bjorn Ironside was one of the biggest reasons I enjoy it. This end is the only way he could go.

I think you forgot what Ragnar did.Bjorn can't even compare with Ragnar. All Bjorn did is saving them from Rus. But Ragnar ....

Bjorn character progression is epic..his final moments made him more than worthy of Valhalla..Vikings is more than a show, it's a masterpiece.

I actually think Ivar began to feel some remorse because that's still his brother at the end of the day.

In this particular scene.. Bjorn surpassed Ragnar momentarily. What a great warrior. Bjorn didn’t have the wit of Ragnar, but he surpassed his father as a warrior,

Well, to me, he's greater than Ragnar, he died a legend, and he always fought bravely. As a character Ragnar had more charisma and all that, Travis did his job impressively, but Bjorn is epic

Well the swedish people i know say Bjorn Ironside was the greatest. He was first king of kings of sweden and prety much the first leader of sweden as we know it today (my girlfriend, who is half swedish says that her grandfather told her stories about bjorn ironside, whom he called the father of sweden) So in the real world history bjorn was defenitly greater than ragnar

Never watched Vikings but this is quite moving.

In love with this scene absolutely amazing plus the music at background 🔥

Vikings has always nailed the music and this one was just the best of the best. Epic and heroic, yet also intriguing and sad. Also I loved that Hvisterk made the same speech as Ragnar made before he died for Bjorn. Simply an amazing episode I have already watched it like ten times, worthy of this amazing series!!
