The LAPD Shootout & Manhunt of Patty Hearst...
Ойын-сауық
On February 4th 1974 Heiress of the powerful Hearst family, Patty Hearst, was taken from her college dorm by a group of so-called activists- aka the Symbionese Liberation Army. Not even 13 days into captivity Patty Hearst joined the SLA denouncing her name and allegiance to her ruling family. Together Patty Hearst & the SLA hit a Hibernia Bank in San Francisco. Images quickly surfaced of the Heiress taking up arms during the heist.. bringing on a media frenzy.
The FBI and LAPD closed in on Patty Hearst & her SLA comrades- and it would all come to an end after a hellish shootout in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

The 1983 US Marshals shootout with "right wing tax protester" Gordon Kahl in Medina, ND and the manhunt that subsequently followed tracking him into Arkansas on a friend's farm where the FBI and other agencies set fire to the farmhouse killing Gordon Kahl. He's been lauded as a hero by some and a villain by others. Was he a man pushed too far who stood up to his perceived oppressors, or a murderous right wing extremist?? #734 Death and Taxes is a great documentary here on KZread of one version of the story. There is droves of information and videos on various news resources from North Dakota on the internet also as well as the University of North Dakota.

Resume her life as if nothing happened is such a chilling statement of someone getting away without serving their time.
I 100% believe she was in on it from the beginning. What hostage taker would trust thier hostage with a loaded gun after only 13 days? If I was the kidnapper I would assume that was a ploy to try to escape. The only reasoning I can imagine for why they would trust her with a weapon after so little time was because they knew she was on thier side from the beginning. After the main group dying in the fire there was no one who could contradict the "stockholm syndrome" excuse.

Kurt Russell played Charles Whitman in the1975 movie "The Deadly Tower." That movie got a lot of things wrong. Houston McCoy and Ray Martinez, the police officers who shot Whitman, both sued MGM. Martinez sued because he felt he and his family were portrayed in a manner that perpetuated Hispanic stereotypes. His wife wasn't pregnant, and her ethnic background was German-American, not Hispanic-American. A disclaimer at the beginning of the movie reads: "Both the character and personality of Ramiro Martinez' wife and certain scenes about the Martinez family have been fictionalized for dramatic effect." They completely left Houston McCoy out of the movie and he was the cop who shot Whitman. There is a better semi-animated documentary called "The Tower" that does a better job on this story.

In 2006, in El Salvador, students from a public University organized a riot and then one of the students whipped out an M16a2 rifle and killed 2 police officers and injured several others, thus triggering a year-long manhunt for the suspect. And the reason for the riot? Because a private bus company announced they would increase the price of the tickets to 30 cents when it used to cost 20 cents...all of that for just 10 cents. In conclusion: university students are really freaking stupid.

If there ever was any doubt of the duplicitous nature of our justice system here it is. Justice has a price and it helps to have political connections.
Short but still great quality. Thanks
Thank you for finally mixing the music volume to be quieter than your dialogue, biggest reason I didn’t watch a lot of your older stuff
I would be very interested in seeing something about the recent Australian ambush as it hit the nation pretty hard

Strange attitude we humans have. Five? people killed in a shootout and it's major news with fingers being pointed at various political enemies but a car crash that kills five and we barely blink and the car crash is far more common.
"HY-riss?" Really bro lmao
Another great video! You're channel is awesome!
This is excellent reporting and editing. This was insanity. An unbelievable story. And Patty practically walked away.
My mom was friends with her I met her once she seemed like she was on a never ending acid trip

I watched this SLA shootout on live TV as it happened, a young reporter ( Chuck Henry) was giving live commentary & while taking cover behind a fire engine, a spent round impacted next to him , the building was on fire by this time fully involved & ammo was cooking off. He held the bullet for viewers to see, he was quite surprised and Lucky. He retired reporting at the end of 2022
Awesome videos you are making !!!!
I truly love this channel.
The Oka crisis in Quebec, Canada would be a great subject for your next video. It's really well documented

Love this channel ❤️
Best channel on KZread.
Idk if this is relevant but I just remembered some Warren Zevon: In Ireland, in Lebanon, in Palestine and Berkeley, Patty Hearst heard the burst of Roland’s Thompson gun and bought it.

I didn't know about the aftermath and how little time she got. Good work bro. Love the music btw, reminds me of a suspenseful 80's action movie scene.
Your channels great, your sound mixing is wonderful keep it up.
Same playbook is happening now with young impressionable teenagers being taught to believe that they should be ashamed about who they are and where they come from. Once they're indoctrinated the penance for the their crime of existence is to believe that they have to "fight the system".

Best part is that they’re actually fighting for the system they claim to hate. They have been manipulated THAT hard by the sYsTeM. If they’re the resistance I’d like to know exactly what it is that they’re so bravely resisting.

Pretty good banger for something you whipped up pretty quick on your way out the door brother. Happy new year 🍻
Keep ‘em coming popo!! 🔥🔥
And people think Hunter is gonna get into trouble.. Yeah right.
This was a classic. Most folks only know the name from pop culture. I mean, who didn't see Archers moment when he said he had "Patty Hearst syndrome?" 😆🤙🏾
Found you through Donut Operator, you sir are doing an amazing job !

I well remember watching this live on TV here in SoCal. I was a senior in high school. It was quite a story. I watched with a group of classmates. It was intense and we hardly talked while watching.
