Disney should really consider keeping most of their shows animated

@@Bigboyjarvis nah what I mean is that I do want more animation from Disney but I don't want them to use clone wars style for everything. I think the clone wars style is special to prequel era star wars and I don't want it to be done to death.
The shot of Vader actually fooled me in the thumbnail. Animation has truly come a long way.
I wouldn’t mind an animated trilogy of movies that’d be dope actually
The Bad Batch was also introduced in Clone Wars.

Really agree with the idea we will probably see Bad Batch directly dovetail into a sequel. We still havent seen Wolfe leave the empire or turn into a PTSD riddled wreck yet, we dont know where Cody went, Rex still has a few guys with him that arent there in Rebels. Theres just a bunch of stuff that was setup that would feel really rushed to try and pay off while also having a satisfying conclusion to the real core story of the batch I wouldnt be shocked if that sequel gets announced on Saturday. Doubt its any sort of coincidence that the series ends days before Star Wars day
#AskEck I think Lucasfilm should pursue adapting George Lucas's sequel treatments in comic form and getting Lucas himself to consult on it. This may sound like an out-there idea but Lucas was clearly unhappy that the story of his sequels was never told, he's had a life long love of comic books as a medium and even though he's retired, he's always been happy to consult on projects whenever Lucasfilm have asked him to (Solo, The Mandalorian, Dial of Destiny, etc). For Lucasfilm's part, they're fine with producing non canonical content like Visions and the rumored 'What if?' series. Marvel Comics are also currently publishing 'What if?' Alien comics and Dark Horse recently published a comic adaption of one of James Cameron's old drafts for an Avatar sequel, so I don't see why Lucasfilm can't get either company to give Star Wars the same treatment. It could even be nice way to celebrate the upcoming 10 year anniversary of the beginning of the sequel trilogy, taking a look at what it could have been. So, what are your thoughts on this? Do you think it's an idea Lucasfilm should pursue?

I agree with everything you're saying. Disney SW animation is killing it. I would love a show about people that help the jedi with their "unground railroad" so to speak. I definitely think thats why Quinlan was mentioned in Kenobi and why Ventress was in the bad batch. perhaps omega makes it out and is helping as well. edit: also Solo really wasn't that bad. it was better than the sequels IMO. oh and id love some more Darth maul.
of all the things disney spends money on, the lucasfilm animation dept is just about the best investment they can possibly make
I hope its a bright future...

These days, Star Wars animation is where my soul lies with.
I watched Resistance, once. It was a rough watch. It was WAY too infantile. I know that Star Wars is ultimately for kids, especially animation, but this was Teletubbies level of animation (yes, I know Teletubbies weren't animation, I'm describing the maturity level here and that's the comparison my brain dredged up). Also with the different animation style they completely shot themselves in the foot. The animation worked really well for the ships and light and shadow contrast, but it missed the fleshy feel of the Clone Wars, Bad Batch and Rebels to an extent. It LOOKED cartoonish, as opposed to animated. That coupled with the absolutely asinine characters it was a complete turn off. Which is a shame because like you said, it could have helped expand the sequels like The Clone Wars helped expand the prequels. I did love Bucket, I hope he (it?) is never removed from canon and we see more of that droid some time in the future.
I really miss your StarShip Vs videos Man. And I forgot what I suggested you can do next.
Right now, I see three main plotlines they can work on- -getting Rex to where we see him in Rebels -Ventress and Quinlan creating The Path as we hear about it in Kenobi. This could tie together renegade clones, Omega and Force sensitive kids. So I see 1 and 2 as interlinked. -getting Maul to where we see him in Rebels, his syndicate has to fall. This could also be an Ahsoka story picking up from Tales to where we see her in Rebels. He lost Mandalore, but still had his syndicate until he lost that and was more or less in exile trying to strike at Palpatine/Vader in Rebels.
I’d like to see an animated horror anthology set in the Star Wars universe they could use undead death troopers starweirds and Mnggal-Mnggal or even techno beasts
@CarlitoAnimacoesStudios
Ай бұрын
Like that the techno beast outbreak that ocurred in the old sith wars?
#AskEck : Why in the very first episode of the 2008 Clone Wars did Asajj VENTRESS think that the Separatist forces (eg : battle droids,AAT) would be able to stop Yoda? I know that she fights him later in the episode but I wondered that a Jedi like Yoda would probably have a large reputation therefore Asajj wouldn’t stand a chance.
Ventress would be fun to watch, an edgy pseudo-Jedi who left the dark behind trying to make her way through the Galaxy as a bounty hunter, haunted by the past, uncertain about her future, trying to relearn the proper use of the light side of the Force on her own (at least for a while) whilst stumbling around, could be fun! Since she is pretty much a "tsundere" character at this point, a romance plot would also be fun with her, especially since a certain brief love interest of her survived Order 66 and is in hiding, more, Quinlan Vos was the most fun-loving, easy-going unorthodox Jedi of them all, and he is a master too, a total opposite of her so yeah, the banter could be marvelous between them. Could be a LOOOOOOT of fun!

Anything from Dathomir is a great idea. Also if you like political drama then Alderan has it all during the Old Republic days. House Organa was practically a mafia but there are other Houses that are just as scheming.
So much potential for animated star wars.
I don't get the fixation on Darth Maul. He was cool in The Phantom Menace, I know. But can't they just make new stuff? I mean why does a big evil underworld organisation have to be tied to a sith? A failed one at that.
Ffs can we get Son of Dathomir animated? Is that really too much to ask?
@chewy99.
Ай бұрын
Yeah I definitely agree
#AskEck can you talk about warships of the pre Old Republic?
I’d be down for some unfinished clone wars episodes. But if we’re talking shows that take place after the Bad Batch, I think Ventress and Rex could both carry their own show. It’d be cool if they put them together for a show.
#askeck why can’t ships go around a planetary blockade? If it’s a navigational issue, why can’t they just enter another port on the planet and then fly across the planet to their destination?
@JJJBunney001
Ай бұрын
They can, that's how smugglars work but blockades usually aren't shown well. Usually, they're either blocking a hyperspace vector or as shown sometimes, the block a small area of a planet giving them local air superiority and forcing people to travel from somewhere else on the ground. Since you can't jump from somewhere random usually, it's easy to control the area of space that a ship or fleet would arrive at

Congrats on 1M!
I feel like next year we may get tales of bounty hunters. Ventress appearing and now grievous in tales of the empire makes me think filoni wants to bring the rest of the unfinished clone wars arc to the screen (which I would love to see)
#AskEck What do you think of Vader's other Sith apprentices? Not just Galen or the Clone. I'm talking about Flint, Kharys, Lumiya, and Hethrir.
#AskEck In your video about particularly deadly weapons you talked about ion weapons being able to disintegrate beings. What about ion pulses such as the ones in the battle of Naboo from the Battlefront 2 campaign and in the battle of Malastare in the Clone Wars, did it not affect the troopers because of their armor or what? What about ionized ships, does it affect anyone inside?
Tales of the Bounty Hunters next
The animation is honestly looking quite close to the Kenobi show in a way when we see the shot of Vader sitting down and a side view of his face. Could be the advancements of the animation becoming close to real life while still keeping the cartoon feel of it.
Give me a solid "Rogue Squadron" film, animated series, or game; that project has potential, it just needs to be seen through with a team behind the scenes that knows what they are doing. The old "Rogue Squadron" games are either locked to old game consoles (2&3 on the GameCube) or have a release that's difficult to get running properly on modern hardware (Rogue Squadron 1 on PC), a new version of "Rogue Squadron" made by Bandai Namco's "Project Aces" team would fit the bill as "Squadrons" by EA just doesn't cut it. The "live action" film version of "Rogue Squadron" has been stuck in "Development Hell/Purgatory" as that project's director has been rather "mum" with that project's progress, getting anything official from the studio if the director of that project is still onboard was met with a similar "mum" response. I don't know how to go about an animated version of "Rogue Squadron", maybe have the team behind the CGI "Clone Wars" series flesh out the pilots and support teams during the duration of the war campaign they're involved in? Just spit balling on this one as I haven't watched enough of the CGI "Clone Wars" series to give any solid ideas.
What they can do now is the show with Echo and Rex, Omega show, or finish the clone wars arcs that weren’t fully animated.
I think it may be a good idea to scrape your comment section for questions. Like, copy and past them into a google doc and then every so often ctrl+f and delete questions which are duplicates. I asked a question once, but I don't want to just copy and paste it every other video because I find that a little annoying.
#askEck this might be a long one, but the short of it is, what was baby Yoda doing right before the mandalorian? In the show we see him being held by what seems to be a band of pirates, and he had to have been there for some time and in the care of them for the local warlord to know of his location and so many bounty hunters to have his tracker, so these pirates had to have been attached to him in some way and were protecting him despite the obvious bounty on baby Yoda's head. So these pirates took care of him and protected him before the mandalorian just came and killed them all and kidnapped baby yoda
I think the failed clone rebellion will be the focus of a Tales of the Clones anthology; focused on Rex and perhaps Wolfe
Really cool to see Vader with Star Wars the Clone Wars in animation style again! Especially since his Rebels-style version was kinda lame.
#askeck how do Star destroyers stay floating still in the air on a planet?
#askeck i watched the phantom menace in the cinema over the weekend for its 25th anniversary and was wondering something afterwards: Up until the reveal before boss nass, was "queen amidala" ever padme, with sabe always being the stand in with the actual queen off to one side, or were there occasions where the visible queen was actually padme (for example just before the invasion, it was padme but they swapped to sabe for her protection in a difficult time or the scene where anakin goes to see her before going to the temple, he is actually talking to padme who is getting ready to deliver her speech to the senate in person). could be film scenes or legends. just seems a tad odd having a permanent decoy, (theres a big decision to be made, let me retire for a few minutes to consult with my handmaidens before i make up my mind) i will say being older and knowing the reveal does make padme's sassiness to qui gon's repeated "what the queen doesn't know wont hurt her" very amusing.
Ermagherd! Thanks Eck for answering my question. Kinda hard for a kid not to get into it. Imagine walking by as the spectacle happens and NOT feeling the intrigue. MTFBWY!
hey eck, not sure if you’ll see this, but i have a halo question. when the UNSC discovered high charity why didn’t they use gray team and the havoc bomb that destroyed glyke on high charity? it would’ve been a all or nothing attack i’m sure, but the havoc bomb was already made, and gray team wasn’t in cryo sleep by the time master chief found high charity.
Are you still having problems with playing your intro and outro music in your videos? I haven't seen or heard them for a while.
what happened to the intro and outro
Young Jedi Adventure is a great introduction to SW for young kids. Its short and kids friendly episodes with fun characters. After that I say Resistance and first season of Rebels are great fun.
Darth Vaders office 😂, I can just imagine filling paperwork or doing interviews for inquisitors
They really should make a new animated series set in the Original Trilogy (or immediately after _Return of the Jedi)_ with Luke, Han, and Leia as the main characters.
I cant wait for the mouse droid from the first death star to get its own show
#AskEck Do you think the Empire could still have any Mandator IIs in service by the Battle of Endor?
For a future animated project I would love to see a Visions style version of Tales of the Mos Eisley Cantina. Let each creator take a chapter from the book and make each chapter its own episode.
I think they portrayed Thrawn mostly well, but they also portrayed him pretty poorly with Morgan.
I don’t think it makes much sense for Disney to finish bad batch, release all tales of the empire empire episodes on may 4 and just never return to the animated clone wars filoniverse. I think they definitely have something planned for sure it’s been probably their most successful part of Star Wars besides early season mando
I wish they would go back and re-animate Rebels. It has a good story but man, it's an absolute eyesore to look at.
My son loves Star Wars. My daughter knows it but Batman The Animated Series is her go-to
I need tales of the sith and I need that arc where palps captures maul after mandalore
#AskEck What do we know of the development of the Venator? Was it ready at the outset of the Clone Wars or did it enter service sometime after it began? And what did the Republic Navy have before the Venator (and by extension, the Victory) came into service that could stand up to Seperatist capital ships? Lore ship Versus video request: Resurgent vs. Starhawk Tie Striker vs. New Republic V-Wing World Devastator vs. Vong Worldship Tie Silencer vs. X-83 Twintail Tie Silencer vs. Tie Defender (legends version) Keldabe vs. ISD II MC90 vs. Nebula class star destroyer Nebula class vs. Pellaeon class Majestic class vs. Bothan Assault Cruiser EAWX: FOTR’s Mandator II portrayal vs. Subjugator Praetor vs. Subjugator EAWX: TR’s Mediator portrayal vs. Resurgent Starhawk vs. Bulwark MK III Gargantua/Aratech 520 Battle Platform vs. A6 Juggernaut
#AskAck What is your opinion on the more fantasy side of Star Wars? Everyone always says Star Wars is sci-fi, but in my opinion it’s just as much fantasy. My name is pronounced yar-nik (yar as in pirate arrr) since you had trouble pronouncing it last time
Here's a question for Eck...: Is there any there any actor/actress the would like to see in the Star Wars universe(s) and why?
I can't help but feel things are over animated in Normal scenarios outside of combat with the disney take over. Some dialogue has so much swaying
I recall discussing how you can make your own Space Marines in Star Wars using clone commandoes, zero G power armor, dark trooper project and so on... and then realising that Star Wars doesn't need any of this. It's STAR Wars, not Land Wars. The coolest parts were always the ships, from small fighters to supercapitals. Give me those instead of jedis, sith, gunslingers, henius art connoisseurs and so on. Not saying that they're bad, they're also awesome. But Star Wars without cool ship right on the cover is NOT Star Wars.
I think it'll be about the Hidden Path. There's enough hints towards it.
#askeck Is there any information regarding how holograms and other transmitters work? Like, in the real world there are radio waves and other electromagnetic frequencies, but the ones in Star Wars seem to travel faster than the speed of light. Any explanations?

Omega will be lead character in Rogue Squadron
#AskEck What do the financials of the Jedi Order look like? Where do they receive their funding? Does that change pre Clone Wars vs during?
So how many people are hoping that we get another Clone Trooper Series announced this week, possibly at the end of the final Bad Batch episode or on May 4th? I want to be optimistic because I’m worried that Clone Troopers are just going to fade away as characters after the Bad Batch, but that worry makes me think that Disney would rather keep the focus on Jedi, Rebels, Mandalorians, and the Criminal Underworld. Even in Clone Wars Canon stories, most usually have the Clones be background or minor characters instead of major or supporting characters. Seriously, are we Clone fans just a tiny portion of the fandom or something?
#AskEck why didn't the Empire tightly control the dispersion of astronavigation data? It seems like an easy way to control who can go where. It could even be weaponized by sending suspected rebels into a trap or straight into a black hole.
Maybe s3 will be tales of the clones 👀

LUKE IS LIKE YODA, DO YOU GET IT
If they do the clone rebellion - which I kinda feel like got cut down when they destroyed Kamino, I feel like that wouldn't really be territory of 'The Bad Batch' as much as it would be it's own thing, more likely spun off of it. With of course the question of 'Did Filloni design the show to be this long, or is it a Disney decision' on how many seasons. Cause especially with animation if they just let Filloni do his thing with minimal interference (like saying 'no you can't have the nose art scene' from original Season 7 when that part was adapted where it'd be nice to see but doesn't hurt the show not being there) the man plans things years in advance, which you do kinda need for animation especially to keep a schedule, when they heard what they had for Season 6 was going to be the end they were working not just on season 7 but 8 of CW. Odds are either A: he has the next part of this story planned (but won't be out till next year at the earliest, maybe year after) or there is another story at another point in time he has cooked up, and likely based on or using some old Legends content to bring back in.
I remember a time where live action took a step back and let the animated shows do the heavy lifting. Nowadays live action have taken the spotlight but the results are rushed stories with hits and misses for Star Wars recently mainly misses. I would definitely love to see animation become the spotlight(idk the cost and time to produce an episode of animation compared to live action nowadays). Cause man TCW style is impressive animation many details for a tv show where that’s usually movie quality.

Star Wars animation is arguably peak Star Wars.

There are so many novels and comics made over the years. So many ideas that could create new character arcs. But sadly, we will probably get more "children's programs"like resistance and the high Republic novels that are just too "kiddy" for the fans that saw the 1st film in a theater.

Resistance could have been good but it was kiddified and held back by being in the sequel era. Let's look at just episode 1. The main character joins Poe dameran one of the boring sequel protags and has a mission to investigate this outpost for the first order... Who is told to be a secretive organization that there is no real proof exists. 2 minutes after arriving on the platform the main character finds the first order. Also let's make crappy off brand pod racing for reasons. Also let's have minimal violence. The sad thing is if you suffer through it the entire time there are interesting moments. Like when you find out the leader of the outpost is an imperial. And when the outpost is actually a ship and leaves it had potential to be a cool narrative if a basically neutral faction navigating the first orders attack on the new Republic (if they didn't ruin the new Republic in episode 7 anyway )
