Then when he does fight - an admittedly very cool fight against Kenobi - he loses. I feel like Grievous in the movies and a large part of the Clone Wars show is such wasted potential. I know 2003 CW Grievous was cool but that was never George’s intent with the character. Accept that Grievous is a dastardly cartoon villain. He still is stronger than like 95% of the Jedi Order in current canon. Calling TCW non-canon is ridiculous, might as well call ROTS non-canon.

Though once grievous started losing to people is when that wariness sort of went away given that with the Jedi (given that he made quite the name for himself) he lost intimidation and unorthodoxy with the masters which Dooku noted were his primary advantages and that he should retreat if they were lacking.

In most of Legends and simply from the numbers alone the CIS wouldn't have even had to properly fight if it hadn't all been arranged, the Republic didn't even have an army for thousands of years until dear Chancellor Palpatine pulled one out of his ass when the Senate was in full panic mode.

@@semi-useful5178 Yea, but PDFs were still a thing. Plenty of militarized and industrialized planets that would have no issue conscripting, feeding, clothing, training, and equipping troops. Anaxes, Kuat, and corellia are great examples of that. There’s still a fighting chance. Plus, logistics are important. The republic had better logistics regardless of the clone army or not due to its industrial base but also it’s positioning with a defensive war. The CIS needs twice the ammount of raw resources a organic army needs, less settled systems spread over larger areas of space, and fighting a mostly offensive war up until the end, there’s no real way the CIS could have conquered the republic. Fought to a bloody stalemate? Sure. Won their independence? Sure. But I don’t think it would be a trounce. There’s plenty of examples of the much larger opfor loosing because they don’t have the home turf advantage, like the republic would have in its own space. The CIS economy couldn’t keep up a wartime economy like the republic could, they simply don’t have enough biological organisms working jobs to keep the econemy stimulated, keep the CIS army funded and operational, and wage a offensive war on the republic

The Council were basically just Sith allies. They had no real interest in the CIS cause, and from a logical standpoint, the CIS actually should oppose them ideologically. The Parliament and Separatist citizens probably just tolerated the council, because the Council were, at the end of the day, mostly made up the same people that the CIS had formed in opposition of. It just shows how blindly the people loved Dooku, and I suppose rightfully so, because aside from us, the viewers, and a relatively small group of others, no one knew just how bad he had become under Palpatine and they still thought he was the enlightened guy he was before he became a sith

Most of them were forced to be reintergrated into the Galactic Empire however some resisted in Separatist Holdouts which either went into hiding or tried to fight back against the Empire directly. However the ones that fought back did not last too long and only made it a max of 5 years after the Clone Wars.

The Republic and CIS as far as corruption were inverses. On the one hand, the republic has a largely well-meaning military (barring some exceptions) by way of several honorbound clones and the Jedi while it has a corrupt and evil bureaucracy on the political side. The CIS has a well-meaning and genuine political front by way of the separatist parliament while all of its corruption is in the military by way of violent war crimes and the abuses of the Separatist Council.

I guess Dooku or Sidious would have found a way to limit her efficienty or eliminated her if she was too efficient or came to suspect something was up with the war. They had planned for Grievous to become Supreme Commander not only because of his competences but because Grievous' hatred of the Republic and Jedi made him too focused on them to notice the Sith's manipulations, and because he was the perfect figure to terrorize the Republic and Jedi, allowing Palpatine to increase his power as the senate and public became increasingly terrified by Grievous and the Separatist' threat and desperate for their safety and order.

We see this with how ignorant they seemd to be of the literal attricities and evil acts their military officers like Grevious, Ventress, Trench, or Rif Tamsen did.

The living beings of many planets had valid grievances but how did they just carry on with their lives not knowing who controls, funds or leads "their" "armies"? Like "hey we don't like the republic" and conveniently the techno Union and trade federation come in and are like okay we'll fund and build a war and battle droids giving command to a murderous rage fueled cyborg and don't worry about how the wars going or what we're doing🤪. ??? They just sat in their comfy planets shielded from war while their battle droids wreaked havoc and terrorized the galaxy? Enslaved and exterminated populations, bled planets of resources and used live shields as a deterrent?
