As a fan of halo since the beginning, I can't believe it took me 20+ years to really delve further into the lore and therefore, the books. Halo: First Strike is an amazing book, Todd Mclaren narrating the audiobook makes it even more perfect. I am currently obsessed with Halo in a brand new way. This battle gave me shivers up my spine, I nearly stood up and saluted.
All of the ships introduced in rogue one, bar the ties, and the dark troopers were introduced in the star wars rebels animated series, just fyi
We BETTER see the SOF at some point in the FPS game. That or HW 3 makes a tease that we're going to see it in Halo 7/8 who knows
I didn't hate it. You're the first reviewer I'm hearing that didn't shove a bunch of identity politics into it so kudos.
Personally, I'm sitting at around "not sold, but *very* currious"
I have felt your pain, brother, so I send this as a Pens fan. Cheers, sir. Your content in both the Wars, Halo and hockey have hit this viewer and I appreciate that. In case you all do not know, Ecks is a huge hockey fan and runs a channel focused on the playoffs. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oaFo3JSfoLO1Yso.htmlsi=R4AVUt7SmYsQvTal
Id consider it either ending with a stalemate or an Ultron Sigma situation with them fusing into a single entity.
Hmmm…. Maybe in terms of knowing for sure there is a demonic influence behind someone or knowing 100% if a person is of good intentions
If it doesnt edit reva out almost entirely then its a waste of time.
Christopher to Tony : So listen T there’s this ladder right. Some guy named Eckhart bought it off Paulie last Thursday. Can you believe this guy Ton
I did not watch any of the reviews or trailers so the twins thing got me for a minute
I don't know how you are so forgiving with this show. This is barely Star Wars right now in my opinion. master sol and this padawan so far with only good dialogue I would consider how jedi would communicate and have a logical thought process and following their code during the high republic era (and Sol more fits a role like Qui Gon with his emotional attachment to a character we barely have character build up with being more of a hypocrite with some of his dialogue). The first scene Mae says a jedi would not draw their weapon unless they intend to kill. THE JEDI DONT KILL IN THE FIRST PLACE LMAO, only in self-defense if they absolutely have to and of course, if need be, they will draw their weapon like what? the writers clearly have not consumed any previous Star Wars content before. They have butchered how they explain the force through the wisdom of the jedi, categorizing it as power like the Sith would. Somehow a dagger kills a jedi but not saber wounds lately. They have a JEDI MASTER just willing unaliving himself because of an accident this antagonist caused which we also have no back story buildup of what those jedi went through so far, and it makes that scene look ridiculous at first glance. This is literally a MESS, and people say Obi Wan, boba Fett, and Ashoka were bad. I can tolerate those shows because it still felt like I was watching Star Wars in the Star Wars UNIVERSE, this is some garbage storytelling and pace so far. I hoping they do some clean up with the rest of the show, some things I like but the overall vibe I'm getting is due to lack of storytelling of past events (I Understand some writers use this in their work and it actually works when more is unfolded later on) and more consistency with previous Star Wars lore and not contradict some facts. thought with some leaks saying they are going to explain the force is a woman... I have even lower expectations.
I sort of hate financially successful creative people complaining about how hard it is to be a financial lot successful creative person. (Yea, we all know that, that’s why we’re all not pursuing our passions as a career). But, despite that, I generally like Eck so I’m also commenting to show support.
Give me a solid "Rogue Squadron" film, series, or game; that project has potential, it just needs to be seen through with a team behind the scenes that knows what they are doing. The old "Rogue Squadron" games are either locked to old game consoles (2&3 on the GameCube) or have a release that's difficult to get running on modern hardware (Rogue Squadron 1 on PC), a new version of "Rogue Squadron" made by Bandai Namco's "Project Aces" team would fit the bill as "Squadrons" by EA just doesn't cut it. The "live action" film version of "Rogue Squadron" has been stuck in "Development Hell/Purgatory" as that project's director has been rather "mum" with that project's progress, getting anything official from the studio if the director of that project is still onboard was met with a similar "mum" response. I don't know how to go about an animated version of "Rogue Squadron", maybe have the team behind the CGI "Clone Wars" series flesh out the pilots and support teams during the duration of the war campaign they're involved in? Just spit balling on this one as I haven't watched enough of the CGI "Clone Wars" series to give any solid ideas.
Finally someone giving show the credit it deserves
I just don't know what to feel, which is worse than disliking it, because at least I'd feel something towards it. There's just nothing so far that has made me sit there and go... oh boy, I'm glad we got this instead of a show about Darth Bane... or Revan... or Malgus... or the Jedi-Mandalorian Wars... or anything Star Wars fans care about.
The Master is 100% going to be a woman
It has potential
The opening fight was terrible. Mae is tiny and kicks a huge table around (even with the Force) but then is clearly outclassed by Master "Trinity" - who should have easily defeated her attacker. It was insane, and her being killed by a tiny knife was just dumb, but I guess The Riddle of Steel is stronger than Lightsabers in Disney StarWars. Osha was clearly nowherenear the planet with Trinity, and thus had no chance of being the killer, but a single description (and sure, in-person I.D.) led them straight to the innocent twin? And they send a Knight and a Padawan to arrest someone accused of killing a Master in combat? And then they just casually put her on a prison transport and go about their business as if this person wasn't deadly? More dumbness. And this is after they tell us that the human mechanics on-board are not technically supposed to be there, but the Jedi knew where Osha was, despite the secrecy? And, then there's the jailbreak. The last dude to escape - after she helps him - somehow gets picked up and transported all the way to Coruscant and nobody went down to the planet to look for/into the wreckage? And then they come back to that planet within hours? Again, with a very small group, even if Sol believed something else was going on, it should likely have been a bigger retinue. What have we learned from this episode? Distance and time are meaningless. An obvious newbie can kill a Master - who never tried to actually defeat her opponent. And that Master couldn't recognize that opponent's face, despite knowing Osha for years and the twins having the same hair and general appearance? <smdh> The writing is terrible - "SHOW, DON'T TELL!" is completely ignored for having people tell the person they're talking to what they already know and experienced. The acting is "ok" at best. The dialog is either middle-school level or cliche, or effectively cropped from some other source: The "Attack me, with all of your strength" line is a verbal hat-tip to Kill Bill, and Mae is apparently The Bride in this scenario. Ugh. 🤨🤔🧐
Not addressing the inept writing or the lobotomized dialogue/actions or he dumb characters, it’s a production/presentation issue hmhm OK 👌🏻👌🏻 it’s the long movie format indeed hmhm, flawless problem identification.
This movie was a mess.
Before they used to cut content and sell it a few months later as dlc. Now they're not even waiting. Day 1 dlc is ridiculous.
I hope this supposed Sith is Darth Venamis
Did I miss something? What is the game playing between show clips?
Did I miss something? What is the game playing between show clips?
The arrival of the citizens fleet is just a Star Wars version of the Avengers portals scene and proof that Disney is lazy and reuses things
Awful so far, boring dialogue and the characters lack critical thinking, only reason this director got the job was because they had to shut her up and give her a ton of money by the books, I won't be continuing to watch
I haven't watched the show (Just going by what I've seen and heard), but I think Yord is the Sith. A stoic, by the book Jedi, would be the last person anyone would suspect. Everyone else just seems too obvious.
Rebel Fleet BTFOd
The show is just bad, the story telling is weak and let’s be honest it was made by people who neglect the source material. They took a property and inputted political agendas and cared less about a good story but thank god they’re gay, like that means something. I don’t get it, why do they keep doing this, the fans are nonexistent and I’m just happy to cancel my Disney plus subscription for good
I enjoyed the acolyte quite well.❤
Awful opinion
The Sith started as Dark Jedi so it doesnt matter if the masked character declares himself Sith or not. The whole point is the fight against the Dark Side, and the death of so many Jedi in the open. The Jedi were arrogant enough to believe they defeated the Sith, but they still recognised the threat of the Dark Side during those 1000 years.
Star wars franchise needs to stop being on this girl power stuff and work on release the upcoming mandolarian series if it does and let this garbage go when have Jedi be straight emotinless killers? No direction SMH not surprised or disappointed this is to be expected in the times we're in now wokeness etc. and ive notice the woman power in alot of series through TV now? Ok I get it women can do what men do enough already with WOKENESS ✌🏽
Don’t sweat it, this show sucks and continues the downfall of starwars.
For a vid idea why didn’t the resistance allies respond to there distress calls during the first order pursuit through hyperspace of there fleet
Fire in space. That is all.
Disney has become corrupted. Over no coming back. So has america
Why does Hollywood keep hiring black actors and actresses that are proudly and openly racist towards white people?
deliberate sowing of division
and yet somehow....they still messed around with ATAT's when they had something like this
Sir shields are down 5%! oh..wait back at 100%
Could spread my cheeks and push and make something better than the Acolyte
Frankly, a really bad mishmash edit.
Good to see a youtuber give a genuinely thoughtful, level headed review of this show, instead focusing on all the irrelevant negativity being put out by so many on here. Those people just lose credibility in my eyes. You don't. Keep up the good work
by starcraft you forgot marauders and firebats and medics besides marines where designed to be all purpes infantry
Umbara was part of the Republic until their senator was assassinated, and then they switched sides. Immediately after they switched sides, the Republic began an invasion. I don't think it was a matter of scale, I think it was a matter of the Umbarans didn't really have time to actually give the Confederacy anything before their homeworld came under attack. The same concept applied with Geonosis. There isn't any information on how long Umbara was apart of the Confederacy before it was attacked.
Nice theory
Her killing Jedi is a Sith rite of passage
This whole premise is confusing. Pilots can’t live inside their x-wings. They need repairs, refueling, and rearmament. I can’t imagine that someone could sit in an x-wing in hyperspace for days at a time. The venator is perfect as a mobile base. The rebellion had to constantly move locations to keep from getting discovered. If they had a ship that could hold a ton of fighters, then they could stay moving. They don’t have to bring the whole ship into combat. They can get to within a couple of hyperspace hours from a target, send out the fighters, and even meet them somewhere else. The manpower issue does make sense, but claiming that the venator doesn’t fit with their doctrine feels like a lack of imagination.
Disney Star Wars is fecal matter
You touched on exactly what I came away with, it all felt very "theme park". Along with the story. Everything was over simplified. Lots of flat, cardboard acting. Overall it came across to me like a higher budget fan film. Cool, but ultimately hollow and disappointing.
