I preferred this to Edge Dancer, but yeah, pretty much everything else Sanderson is better.

Honestly man, I had read EVERYTHING from Sanderson until late 2020. I have a Stormlight tattoo and all. I navigated to reading stuff from Gwynne and Abercrombie and this year tried to play some Sanderson catch up. I finished Tress and thought it was on the good side of ok, but didn’t really hook me, and Frugal Wizard kinda got me thinking I might just not be super into Sanderson anymore (at least to the point of reading all of his works). It’s just so…. Ok…. I’ve been reading Will of the Many which has me absolutely hooked and it’s just hard to be motivated to divert my attention away from that (and other books) and read another chapter of Frugal Wizard.

Kinda feel the same way, just finished the dark tower and Red Rising 6 and hopped into Yumi and the nightmare painter. I mean it’s alright… feel like these were just side projects for fun and his true energy stayed with stormlight and mistborn, crossing my fingers for stormlight 5

@@TheJackedNerd. yeah I think I’m going to go forward just sticking to his Cosmere stuff. Trying to be a lot more discerning with my tastes considering how keenly aware I am of how limited my time on Earth is with every passing year, and then with how much of that time I spend on escapism versus larger life goals I have.

Do the secret project skew a bit younger? Sanderson doesn't do heavily "adult" books but the first two seem like they're a great fit for younger audiences. Idk maybe I'm off on this one.

Yea maybe…now that I think about it Tress was like one step below warbreaker or Elantris in darkness and frugal wizard didn’t really have anything besides the Ryan friendship stuff but you’ll only take that at surface level if it’s not relatable
