I always thought of Bishop as the deadlift for reps guy (no matter the weight) am surprised to see him go for the 505kg. Granted I think he can do it, just was not expecting it. Hope you take the record!

He’s always been decent at both but just rarely gets a chance to pull a PB. Earlier this year in Manchester he pulled a 1000lbs quite comfortably.

He almost got the 475 in Manchester. Probably had 470 in him on the day. Give it a full training cycle focused exclusively on deadlift, and putting on more size... I honestly think 505 is realistic.

  • @tortyreus2384

@@GreatNeal85 youre making it sound about 50 times easier than it is. Every time someone goes for the record the comments are always like this, "he lifted x so just a deadlift focused cycle, put on more weight and he got it" if it was anywhere near that simple, there'd be more than 2 men that have lifted that weight. Makarov same story.

  • @GreatNeal85

@@tortyreus2384 Every time? The only people who have been that close to the record as far as I know (lifting 470+ kg in previous training cycles, or attempting and almost getting 501 in previous training cycles) are Thor, Ivan, Asko, and Peiman. Thor did it, Ivan didn't, Asko and Peiman haven't tried. So it's like a 50/50 so far. All the other guys weren't this close (Pavlo only pulled his 475 at the end of the same training peak, Benni had only pulled around 460, same thing with Jerry). Is there any guy besides Ivan that was in 30 kg striking distance of the record on a previous peak who didn't get the record next cycle?

Thor was like over 200kg bodyweight and Eddie was close to 200kg bodyweight. Correct me if I am wrong but Adam Bishop isn't anywhere close to 200kg bodyweight right? I think Adam was listed as 150kg when he pulled 1000lbs a few months ago. Considering that it isn't weird to be a non believer.
