    I really like the tips. I wish more strongmen would share their techniques for lifting/workouts like this rather than just showing their workout. A few do, but most just show them doing stuff in a gym. I don't plan on entering into strongman, but I do enjoy a good hard workout and truly appreciate the advice. And the offer to review technique and offer input on videos is really cool. Videoing my lifts is something I think I should do more of. Nice work, man!

    I'd like someone to go into more depth about the concept of pulling the floor apart with your feet to engage your hips. When I first got obsessed with the DL I spent year one and a half using my quads to push my hips high then doing all the rest with my lower back. Never understood what people meant about pushing your knees out or lighting up the side of my hips and glutes. Shit I never once felt the lift in my glutes, hips, or hamstrings. I watched a butt load of tutorials, read a book, and several books' worth amount of articles. I think it's one of the most important concepts that doesn't get a proper explanation. It's often glossed over.

    Great video Mr Bishop 👍🏻 thanks for your tips. The stance on the deadlift gives me brain damage. Wide stance and it’s harder off the floor but easier lockout. Narrow stance earlier off the floor tougher lockout. Definitely can get tighter on a narrow stance so I’m going to stick with that, especially being a manlet

    Hi Adam. Just found this video. Great stuff. One question: Most powerlifters recommend to place the bar mid-foot, an inch away from your shin to allow a vertical bar path. However, strongmen suggest to cut the toes off and pull the bar back. What’s the benefit of doing it strongman style? Thanks 🙏🏼

    Wide stance works for me (1.83m/110kg so a little bit above average size), same for rolling the bar - I can brace harder when bar is far away and by dropping hips and rising them before actual lift, it creates momentum that helps a lot with initial part of the pull. Still, great tips!

    Liftingshoes or not. I have tried both an csn honestly say that barefoot during the lift. Its better for me. But lifting shoes have a high stabilised heel. Its a awesome thing to use for that stability. But i use it only for leglifts and log press. :)

  • @mackanneb1591

    And this is the most important thing. A belt,,i always use a belt. Even if i warm up on 65 kg or do heavy at 150 kg. Always s belt. It is god stability on your lower back and stomach. And prevent damage and accidents very good. Safety first. And yes. ,,,this video from adam is 100% accurate. Its extremely good advice. :) deadlift is a good(probably the best) for training all muscle groups. Back,lower back,stomach,legs,hams,gripstrenght and much on. The other one thats extremely good is pull ups. Biceps,triceps,shoulders,pecs and more. And the whole thing people are so focused on biceps curls. Dont need to do them. They are comming if you do all . :)

  • @adambishopstrongman4471

    förnuftig man yep for sure no shoes for deadlift. You want maximum foot contact with the floor. A heel on a weightlifting shoe both shifts you forward over the bar too much and increased the distance you need to pull the bar. Flat foot for the win.

    Thank you, someone finally explaining that Shaw's, Pritchett, Eddie and Thor have a stance that's not as efficient as it could be. I don't even understand how they use their glutes with a stance as wide as that.

  • @mustang8206

    @mustang8206

    3 жыл бұрын

    Those guys are some of the greatest deadlifters in history do you really think you know more about form than they do? Shaw and Eddie have traveled around learning from some of the best strongmen and powerlifters and Thor is coached by a world renowned powerlifting coach. Not to mention that they are all quite tall especially Pritchett, Thor, and Shaw. The stance of a 6'9 deadlifter will not be the same as a 5'8 deadlifter. As well as the fact that they are 400 lbs + and the size of their legs will prevent them from getting in narrower. Eddie used to pull narrow and he said that he ended up plateauing for a long time but once he widened the stance his weight shot up and he ended up pulling 500 kilos
