Cool car, but does anyone else hate how you start the car? A screen button? ...Compared to Lamborghini's flip-switch/push button/nuclear launch engine start, this feels so Prius. And this is coming from a Ferrari fan. EDIT: I know the Prius has a push button (I used to have a Prius for fuel savings). My point was it "feels" Prius (i.e. safe, sanitized, dull, vanilla, soulless, etc.)

I noticed how he was looking over like he was checking out how fast doug was going on the speedometer.

Best review I’ve watched. Most of them are 25 minutes of driving while saying omg ohh and ahhh and how fast it is and 5 minutes going over and through everything else. Even Shmee ran through the operation of the car so fast it was useless. Thanks Doug. Excellent job.

Been watching a lot of videos about this car daily for over 2 weeks now . But this is by far the best. Little things like the steering controls weren’t shown in the other’s. A complete breakdown of the car. Fantastic.

I like the idea that Doug can refer to "older Ferrari models" and just walk 15 feet to show us

Yeah.. Not sure why he calls them 'screens'. They are simply touch activated lights. 'Function display' would be a better description. But then again, he calls anything red across the rear of a car a 'light bar' when no actual lights exist inside them.... Dunno where his logic is. That 'screen' in front of the passenger, IS a screen. It can change it's contents... Thus, a proper 'screen'. Then again... My front door, ALSO has a screen... WHO IS CORRECT? LOL!

8:01 That's because they're not screens, they're backlit capacitive buttons. They have no ability to change what they display beyond the color of the backlight, just like normal buttons except they don't physically move up and down when you press them.

@@Ian.Murray you don't get the feedback you get from normal buttons (although some capacitive buttons vibrate when activated but it is just not the same) and they are hard to press while driving since you can't feel the individual buttons..

I think he's awesome for letting anyone else touch the thing!!! 700,000 that's just too many zeros to be letting friends f it all up messing around. Doug is a driver though and if you watch his videos you know he is respectful and serious about the commitment he's making to be responsible. I have seen almost every one and I have never seen him take it lightly. He has too much to lose himself. Plus he's just a good dude.

The steering wheel (not to mention the display) seems a little busy for a fast car like the SF90. The display should be able to be set up when the car is idling, not moving. Also, sometimes buttons that you can locate by touch are better than ones you have to look for.

Exactly what I was thinking - Doug doesn't usually claim all the touch buttons are 'screens', so he should know. Basically, there are 2 screens and ALL the buttons are touch (except the door openers).

They basically are screens though. LED backlit touch-sensitive information displays. Just because they have a fixed image does not make them NOT a screen; the technology behind them is essentially a touchscreen without a dynamic image controller. A backlit 'button' is solid with a cut-out for the backlight to come through.

legend, i agree. but he certainly isn’t the only one. i never stopped doing it either. When you’re a fat boy with prominent nipples, it helps to cover them a lot. Lolz. Please note, please understand, prominent nipples are a separate and distinct bodily feature compared to “man boobs”. A fat man may have man may have man boobs and prominent nipples, or may have one or the other. I have prominent nipples, but not man boobs because I am not a large person. Fat, but not that fat. Just a tad bit skinnier than, say, Doug himself.

I don't actually think that's a screen on the steering wheel. I think it's just backlit icons with a touch sensor. Notice how none of them animate, move or even change color? They just appear or disappear? If that were a proper LCD screen, those icons would be dancing, glowing, etc.

Nice car and lots of effort put in to produce it. Lots of electronics too and touch controls which will take a while ger used to. That 0-60 of 2.5 seconds is incredible, and it's the same as the C8 Eray that coats $86,000.

I know man, I got so excited to see that too can’t wait for the review on that one, one of my absolute favorite 90s super cars. And I think it was on his top ten list of cars that he wanted to review glad he got to do it.

It's public knowledge anyway, he keeps them at his jewelry store in an attached underground garage. Anyone coming to rob him would just go for the jewelry instead anyway, its easier to smash some glass and snag a couple Richard Milles than drive away in a stolen Ferrari.

Yeah except due to the location there is also 24 hour security on site. By the time you’ve managed to do anything cops will be on site.

Doug was so excited to do a review on this car that he didnt have yhe time to chsnge his shirt..just wear a new one on top of it. Such a legend!

I really love how it looks, but nothing beats well made and refined dials and buttons. I love when buttons are integrated well with the lights and displays, like what Ford did with the dial on the screen. My $40K 2016 Hyundai Tucson has some REALLY good dials and buttons for the AC and infotainment system that scream quality when you press and turn them, and all that with pretty lights! Why settle for clunky touch buttons that you don't know if you pressed or not, and a veery laggy dashboard? Especially in a car that costs more than half a million dollars, lol.

I'd wanna see a timelapse of Doug walking in and around the car figuring out all the quirks and features before actually recording all the quirks and features

@@stfu4159 He might be worried about the revs. I don't know much about David or how long he's had the SF90, but it's quite possible that the car is, or was at the time of filming, still in it's 'break-in' period. Most manufacturers advise you not to exceed a certain RPM limit until you hit about 500 miles. It's also possible that they may have been short on time after Doug spent so long talking about the car and so they had to take it out with the engine and oil still cold, in which a similar RPM limit is advised until everything is up to temperature.

Doug is like the sheldon cooper of cars

I sure hope there is a brightness control for all those 'screens'. The problem with those 'touch screens' which aren't really screens, just backlit touch pads, excepting the dash and passenger screens, is that the tactile feel is lost so operating the switches requires taking your eyes off the road to find the right screen to push. Instead, change the tactile feedback of the various controls so they can be manipulated by finger touch alone.

The amount of times David looks at the gauge to check Doug's speed is funny

I feel like many of the things he calls screens are just lights with a cut out. A screen has pixels and can show different things. Those aren't screens, they're just traditional capacitive buttons with lights.

@@js0137 yeah all of the capacitive buttons remind me of android phones from a decade ago. Really unsure how this will be while actually driving a 1000 hp car, given you don't have any real tactile feedback and might need to look down to confirm you clicked what you did.

They are just haptic buttons... just like my Sony stock head unit in my Ford but behind a diffused panel that makes the buttons look blurry (at least on video but was likely done to prevent it from looking like crap with so many finger prints on the plastic surface. I really hope they are sharper than that IRL). Personally I hate them as you have to look to see what you need to push and it is easy to push the wrong thing. The ones in my ford are on a piano black surface. Jaguar / Land Rover also has been using these and they look better than this.

Just saw this at barret jackson,absolutely gorgeous in person.

This guy could not stop violently darting his eyes back and fourth at the gauge cluster if his life depended on it

Anyways ride safe man! Broke my fib and tibia (leg snapped in half) and most agonising pain ever! And traumatised til this day. Now i ride full gear 2 peice suit. Ironically the bike i had that big accident was a cbr600rr but 2007-2008 model!!

It's kinda pathetic for a car in this price range, isn't it? Those are similar to the crappy "touch buttons" we had on VCRs in the 1980'ies when they had to be "extra hightech" (Except even those had some level of feedback, e.g. backlit with different symbols to tell you their state) ... In this car, there are so many bad examples...like the control for the air conditioning? The fact that there is NO feedback on whether you pressing the busson is actually registered and you have to look at a second screen to see if you've reached the correct setting is astoundingly stupid. I absolutely loved this car until the walk-through of the interior user interface...For a car that is supposed to be "focused on the driving experience", it sure has made a lot of mind-blowingly stupid interface design decisions that will require you to take your eyes OFF the road and focus less on the actual driving because you have to try and find the control you need and fidget around to get it set right. This car, sadly, is an absolute masterclass in user interface design fail!

Exactly. The UI in this car is just about as sophisticated as your average microwave oven. Considering how quickly technology advances, imagine how quickly this interior is going to look dated. Also, touch buttons are annoying to use while driving because your hand is suspended in mid air and not anchored which makes it difficult to align with your intended target, especially as you drive over a rough road.
