I thought I saw the best video last week, but you really covered every little detail for those of us who are beginners! You didn’t assume that we knew anything! Thank you! This was really the most helpful video out of literally dozens that I watched last week! And your technique is FAR less complicated than many others!
This was such a great professional method. I've viewed many and this was the best so far. He made such a complicated professional process seem like the average person could do it. I loved his slow and deliberate descriptions and items needed to complete the project. Very well done.
excellent how-to video for roman shades - the best I've seen.

Thank you!
I love how you take it step by step so it’s easier to grasp your instructions. These are way easier to use than the heavy fake looking shades that were installed before I moved into my home! Excellent video for beginners like myself Sir!✅👍
After years looking for the construction of a Roman shade and making it correctly, this is a perfect tutorial. Thank you so much!
Your videos are the most detailed and thorough I have seen so far. I love them. Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge. I like when you explain certains methods close to the camera (close up).
Thank you so much Scott. Best how-to video on this subject I've ever seen.

You have an hour long to watch this video?
This was a good tutorial. I watched others, but you really explained especially how to use the pulley. Very easy to follow. Thank you,
Very impressed, because you showed us that the shade actually works after constructing, and also looks great! . ...Thank you kind sir...
Thank you! Your video is very easy to follow! I'm going to start my shades tomorrow.
Thank you Mr. Weaver!!! I thought that the expensive head rail was the only rail. Thank goodness for the clutch! Thank you so much! OMG!
Your is by far the easiest instruction !!!! Thankyou.
Wow, thank you very much for all the information but mainly for the "do not install this if you have children" bit! I was thinking about roman blinds, and watched several videos and nobody brought this up. Thank you so much for reminding us kids and cords do not match as they are a chock hazard. What a great mistake was I about to make!
Awesome video thanks...much easier than when I made a Roman shade before.
Excellent, I'm confident I can do this. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This was such a great demonstration. The tips worked so well ! Thank u Scott

YOUR INSTRUCTIONS are Absolutely, dead on! BRAVO & Thank You!

Turn Ikea's cheap pleated shades into Roman shades with these instructions. Just use a small hole punch to put strings through. It will be a bit time-consuming with all the holes but cheap and worth it in the end. If you already have an alligator punch for crafts then Bingo & I do. There will be so much extra material at the bottom you could hot glue in marbles spaced apart for the weight part. No need for a weighted expensive bar. Just a 1$ pack of marbles. My mind is zooming with ideas for this. New project for spring.
I have watched at least 10 of these videos and this one was the best one. I plan to do this within the week - already got my fabric!

Did you find the rib kit anywhere?
I wish I would have found this video before I made my first roman shade. I will definitely use this video for my next shades. Very easy to follow, and I like no sewing for the rings and rods. Excellent video.Thanks.

The frequent camera refocusing is very distracting for a visual learner.
Great job thanks
Thanks so much for your detailed instructions. I however visited your website but could not find anything for purchase. Thanks again and God bless.

Can you please do a video on how to make a London shade with Contrast box pleats?
Thank you for the very detailed video. I went to the link you provided, however, I cannot find the rib kit anywhere. How might I purchase this. I'm in need of several asap. Thank you.
Great tutorial, however, I’ve been making shades for some years now and I find cord locks to be a hassle. I prefer to adjust the height of the shade just by wrapping the cord on a cleat.

@@brendabrenda6843 Thank you! Wish me luck. I'm not a great sewer but I'm going to give it a shot.
Very informative video. I've been looking for a window treatment that doesn't cover the craftsman style window casings in my home (I love them). Doing an inside the frame roman shade may be the answer. You mention not using this design around children. What about pets? I have a couple of cats who love to sit in the window. I'm concerned about them getting tangled in the cords. You suggested adding a second liner over the cords/rods. (I guess it would be more light blocking too.) Wouldn't that make the shade too thick? Would it be possible to omit the first liner and put the rods/rings directly onto the back of the fabric, then add the liner after it was assembled? Another question about the threaded rod weight: Do you ever have problems with the threaded rod rusting and staining the fabric? Would placing shrink wrap tubing on the rod prevent that? Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for your great tutorial...you mentioned in one of your videos not to use the crochet thread tie-ing method on silk... so I'm curious what you recommend for silk romans?
Nice neat method for Roman shade, but it does have the exposed strings as u said.
I sewed a tube for the iron bar before inserting into the shade so the threads would not snag onto the bottom hem
With soooo many people leaving youtube I wish you would upload these vids onto Dtube otherwise I'll miss these fore sure
Where do I purchase the fiberglass rods with the rings?
Where do you purchase those fiberglass rods?
Great video however I’m finding it hard to find the hardware on your website or on amazon. Anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
What is name of the sew on rings to hold the fiberglass dowels? I can not find it on amazon.
Could not find those rod holder gadgets. It was also not seen on your page on Amazon. Please could you show us a closer picture of the plastic clip like item that holds the rods ?
Scott, do you prefer shades with the ribs or without and why? I think I remember viewing one of your videos on roman shades where you used just the tied on rings without ribs, and you pressed the folds for a clean lay. Not sure if the type of fabric I would use would matter if ribs should be used...? Thanks for your thoughts and expertise on this matter! Love your videos, btw!
You didn't mention what size to cut the liner. In your other videos it says to cut to the same width of the window (finished width?) and add 4" to the length of the window. Is it the same here?
Where can I buy burgundy string? I don't know what size to ask for or can I order it?
Did you hem the sides or straight stench?
Great video! I missed how you sewed the sides of the shade. Could you please give more detail on that part? Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply! kzread.info/dash/bejne/pHx_s6qhmrmfhbg.html
What did you use for the lining
To help eliminate those wrinkles and bubbles hold your first hem fold over back about 1/16th to 1/8th. Then you won’t scrunch up your lining creating said wrinkles and bubbles.
ok it's nice but if curtains become dirty then we have to wash then how we can wash or change?
How do we wash it after some length of time?
What is the name and manufacturer of this fabric you used in this video
Do you sell these parts? I went to your website, but did not see anything to buy. Thank you.
I've already made 3 Roman Shades using a different method and yours seems much simpler to accomplish. I still have 2 more to do on a different set of windows, so I will try using your method. Only thing about your video is the constant blurry focus... I had a cornea transplant a year ago and have enough frustration with my vision, I thought I was the only one that is bothered, but I see a few other comments about the camera focus as well. Perhaps you could re-do the video someday and use a different camera? Thanks for your excellent teaching style!

Most fabric stores, not quilt shops, that specialize in drapery fabrics also sell the hardware.
I’m really enjoying this tutorial however the focusing at times is really awful and I I almost want to stop watching!!! But I can’t because you explain everything so well and understandable!!!
thank u so much , STILL IS VERY HARD FINDING TIME TO DO IT. WORKING SO MUCH. IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE MORE FAST STILL AS GOOD.??? BY THE TIME I HAVE ANY time left-- cleaning and cooking and going to work again is slaving my life. BUT I WISH SO MUCH TO HAVE A NEAT PRETTY HOUSE.!!!

I was able to find just about everything you mentioned in your video on Amazon Prime. However, the 1/4" Ribs were $56.00! I'm hoping to find something similar at Home Depot. Thank you for you video.

You could try taking off the cord tassel and tape all the lift cords and trim so there all even or possibly replacing the cord lock?
You failed to include in the notes where to find the hardware for sale.
The lining doesnt look very smoothed out
Video keeps blurring
Not sure why the camera keeps going out of focus. Very frustrating.
Next I’ll show you how to make a Venetian blind-but don’t, they need to see where they’re going! 😎
I think sailrite has the ribs.
thabk You , like your stand for hot glue gun
Too much focusing in and out

Could this simply be due to the camera being on autofocus? If you watched the video you would have noticed him adjusting the camera a couple of times manually (himself), he didn't have a cameraperson.
Cool, now motorize it.
What is up with all of the annoying focusing?
