Faux (fake) Roman Shade (An easy project!)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This only requires basic sewing machine skills and is a simple project with great results! Rings are tied on instead of sewing making the entire project must faster!

You are such a great teacher!
love your tutorials! So thorough and helpful!
Thank you so much. You're tutorial is incredibly helpful; and extremely clear and well thought out. Thank you again.
This was so helpful! I made them for our kitchen. I got both types of rings on Amazon. Also, I ended up using a heavier type of fabric - so I found that I didn't really need to add the "rod" at the bottom. The tricky part for me, was that I made them for a bay window - so I had to modify Scott's mounting directions. I layed the board flat, and just screwed it into the window molding. The shade doesn't stick out as far, but that's fine - I didn't plan on putting another shade underneath.
thank you from Algeria
You're amazing! Thank you!
I have made this and it was so easy and looks great. Thanks

Great to hear!
Very nice
Thank you for the information. How did you cover the wood top piece? Did not see that in video.
Do you calculate the same placement of rings if you are making a 20" high shade?
Thanks for the video; I am starting to make one of these. Looking at the ebay sources for rings, will split rings 3/4" ID and 1 1/8" OD snap onto the Roman shade rings that are 3/8" ID and 5/8" OD?
Hello thank you for your tutorials, Do you have a tutorial on a soft roman shade valance with returns? Would you make it straight or would you have to angle the bottom to give the fullness. Do not want pleats for the fullness, just straight and with fullness.
Did you leave a space at the bottom of the fabric for the 2 inch hem?.
Can you please teach me real roman blind for window? Thank you.
Hi Scott. I love your videos. I do have a question with the blackout lining….are you going to see the pin holes at the upper rings?
How does the finished shade attach to the wall?
Is this fabric still available? Can you please let me know the name of the fabric?
What is the name of patern or material and where can I buy iy
Could you please tell me where you ordered your foam liner from?
Is the calculation for the ring placement always 4" from bottom, 6.5", then continues with 5" depending on how many folds you require? For example, would a 22" long shade with 5 folds be 4" from bottom, 6.5", 5", 5", 5"?

Good luck getting an answer. He wants money to keep his channel going but doesn’t have time to respond to questions from subscribers.

Could someone figure out the answer to this question ?

You are not told how to put the initial material on the hanging board prior to attaching the shade.

Wrap it like a gift and staple it in place. You can also use hot glue if you don’t have a staple gun.
Why can’t you respond to anyone here?

I’m sorry I don’t see your question other than the comment “Why can’t you respond to anyone here? To be honest I get hundreds of questions a week and it’s very difficult spending hours answering. I pop my head in the comment section every now and then but like most I work long hours and like to enjoy a few hours of sunshine in the summer. Please ask your question again it may be far back in the comment screen. Also what you see on your end of the computer may look a lot different than mine! I see comments by date on all types of videos I have made in the last several years! Hopefully I can help you with your question thank you! Scott
