THE DISCORDIANS : Anarchy, Illuminati and Individualism - Episode 182

Музыка

Eris, Goddess of strife
Episode 182 is a random look at 1960s counter cultural movement 'The Discordians', their founders, teaching and resonance in the modern age, feels like we could do with a lot more discord in our lives! Question authority, embrace chaos, be an individual, be creative, stir shit.....against the grain, against the mainstream narrative, and do it all with a sense of humour! They praised the Greek God of strife and chaos Eris and re-introduced the Illuminati as modern day conspiracy theory fave! so who were they?
and some random stuff about the Middle East and stop sending me average reviews of my music!

Yes I highly recommend Robert Anton Wilson's book Prometheus Rising and also his public speeches. I love his vibe, his teachings/ramblings really helped me at some point. Many souls lost in b&w realities could benefit from what he taught. Thank you Alan, that was a fun and fair summary.

There is often a lot more to inspect within a mediocre review than ones at the poles. Even when they're wrong, it's always more useful than an 8/10 pat on the head; or indeed the 1's and 10's of those who blindly adorer and deplore.

Mike David from Redbar is a modern-day Discordian.

@AlanAverill666 Redbar is a long running internet show (maybe 20 yrs now) hosted by Mike David. He built his own platform and does not run ads, so he has unobstructed freedom of speech. He attacks the ruling class of podcasters, comedy, and culture in general with a very dark perspective...but does so with humor and joyfulness. He is very pro-individuality. He mocks politics as a whole, not because he is afraid of taking sides, but because he sees behind the curtain. He is a legit prankster and Loki figure, for the sake of his own personal enjoyment and not for the benefit of the greater good. In Mike's eyes, there is no "greater good".

If you're going to cover the Discordianism movement, why not the CHURCH OF THE SUBGENIUS? "Bob" is easily as influential as Eris/Discordia. Fnord.

So much for "freedom of speech". He turned off the comments on the previous video because people criticized his poor centrism.

Agreed on turning off comments but 'poor centrism'? If that's poor, what do you consider great?

Not at all, don't forget that this is my personal page, not a free for all which then gets me into 'trouble', I'm sadly not insulated from being judged on my moderation of the 'comments', the last two videos had people tearing strips off each other, I wasn't willing for it to descend into a public spectacle, so turned them off for a while, I don't mind criticism or people disagreeing, people know this from the podcast. Addressing your criticism, of course the loudest voices on either extreme side of the debate get the most attention, but regardless of the topic, I'm always going to find the grey area, as thats where I believe the truth of almost all debates lie. Feel free to disagree if you want but when it comes to the Middle East this just means you get criticised twice as much by either side for not picking a side. Apart from the fact.....part of what's wrong with this world right now is the lack of centrism......and allowing the extremes of either side of a debate to have the bullhorn all the time.

@@johncooney2521 To have balls and stand for something; especially. Especially if a treacherous elite is replacing your ethnic group in the land of your ancestors. Where will the Irish go when they end up as a hated ethnic minority at home? Why isn't there a referendum on this? Don't the Irish have a say on whether they agree with gradual ethnic replacement?
