I knew it! Thank you for clarifying what I suspected. I told a client that the dipping power was the same as acrylic but without the monomer and my boss was not too happy with me, that I shouldn't say that to clients. So Thank you

@@isabellamorrison51 you are welcome 😉
thank you for making this video. i was thinking to myself “what is the difference between the two” . . & i love how you did some research & looked at the ingredients.
Thanks so much for that review. I was curious what is the difference between the two, and you are so right. Thanks again for that clarity
Thank you for confirming what I was already pretty certain of!!! And, I loved the way you presented all of the information! Great job!!! ♥️
So that confirmed my suspicions all along. Thank you soo much for doing the research for my lazy ass 😂😂😂😂

This should have more likes! Thanks for the info. It was helpful.
Thank you for doing this video exactly the information I was looking for.
Great video. I’m excited to try out dip powders now!
Thank you, I've been wondering the same thing and was going to try this my self since I do mine and my daughters nails at home
Yes I wish more people knew this! You could argue it's not healthier because everyone's fingers are going in the same powders...
Thanks for this Video! Love your explanation, showing each product, and a demonstration as well! I've also been doing research and looking at the ingredients and found that they are all the same products! Its just the same products, put into different containers and given fancy names with labels to throw you off from the fact you are paying triple the cost!!! :)
Your white shimmer dip powder you made Is beautiful ❤
Yeah you figured out the power of marketing!! Dip Powder is Acrylic powder that is finer milled which finer milled acrylic powder is why brands like Young Nails acrylic powder and some of the higher end pricey acrylic brands seem to have smoother results...The cheap acrylics are gritty because they are not milled as much

Thank you this video was very helpful.
I was suspecting it was the same! Thank you.
I’m just now seeing this but I have been saying the same exact thing. Wound up never buying the systems. It’s amazing how when there is a trend no one wants to listen cause it’s the in thing! Lol 😂 I’m like guys it’s the same exact thing. I actually use my gel polish base and top coat using the same routine. This is good and I’m glad I was right all along!!
Wow so looks like all majority of us all started thinking the same i realized this when i stopped just using acrylic with monomer and just filled my nails with acrylic powder with base coat then under the lamp....i was relocating to texas during covid and stayed in corporate housing which i wasn't going to travel with monomer or use it at a hotel . but just doing a dip fill using a gel base coat under the uv worked great it actually lasted longer and no lifting what so ever. I thought so the difference is the pigment thats added really .
The dip powder is basically a very fine acrylic powder. Yes you can use it like acrylic but it works differently. The setting time is different.
Great video, l wondered the same thing, thank you for trying it and telling us the answers.......Love the colours you used too xxx

Thanks a dip kit and thought I bought the wrong thing. Good to know it doesn't matter.
What did you do to add the sparkle to your dip powder mix? It's gorgeous!
I'm so glad you're back. I kind of thought the 2 powders were the same.

This is excately what i thought. I am glad i didnt buy a expensive set
Thank you. So I can use my acrylic powder as dip powder
I thought so lol!! Great information!!!! Tfs💜💖💜Awesome that you shared it!! I came by from the shoutouts from my friend BabygirlNails I see so many of my mother nail buddies are already here. So I am now too!! New subbie💜💖💜btw love your intro if you can tell😉 lol.

Btw I have 3 full dip powder systems never once saw a 2 in one base/ top coat... interesting..all mine the base gel in the thing that the powders stick too. An extra step in yours...well none of mine have primer either 🤔though I've seen it. Growling Cheetah likes to use gel polish with her powders too. I'd prefer a gel myself too!!

I once asked the nail tech what the difference was between the 2, since overlay is cheaper, and they seem to do the same job. He basically told me the dip holds better on to the nail since there is no nail tip being added..... yeah right!
Amazing video!! I love your butterfly scoop where is it from?
Thank you so much Because I wondering if it was the same ❣️💯 I'm just starting out I ran out of Momoir .Geez lol
Beautiful 🥰
Dope nails. I was thinking about the bacteria, contamination from everyone dipping their nails in the same jars.
Thank you ! I’ve always said this and I don’t understand why some techs argue over this and charge so much move for this and also give the wrong info. Sharing this video❤️
Did some digging around on the internet, and it looks like plain old acetone can thin out the super glue, and rubbing alcohol can act as the accelerant which is what I suspect is the "activator" chemical...or possibly plain old watered down bleach as the activator.
Thanks 😊 what is monomer ? Is it the same as the acrylic liquid?
AWESOME video🙌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻💯💅🏻🖤❤🖤❤
So if a full set grows up two weeks later , can I fill with dip? Thank you
Nice video! And dip powder didn’t come out three years ago? I’ve heard it’s been around since the 80’s but I didn’t start using it till about 10 years ago at my nail salon and in my area in texas it was very popular back then! But enjoyed the video!

Thanks sweetie. We had never heard of it here in Florida until a few years ago. It’s just acrylic anyway. Lol
hi Ruthie - ty ty for this video! i have 4 different brands of powder systems including Gelish and none of them list the ingredients, i'm glad yours does! I've always known it was just simply regular acrylic powder but i've been curious about the liquids! I personally do not care for the smell of monomer but the smell of crazy glue is not necessarily better (nor would I say healthier for skin or nails!) :\ I find it interesting that the base and top coat are the same but it still gives a nice glossy finish when left as top coat. And what are the ingredients of the Activator which is applied to help speed the drying time? I'm curious! Now for some reason my Dip Powder system top coat cracks after a few days of wear so i've opted for using a gel top coat and i like that better. I think it's a shame that they have tried to market this system as healthier but I do appreciate the fact that it is easier application for those that don't know how to sculpt with acrylic like me! ;) again, thank you very much for this video! xoxo

naq57 I’ll definitely get that answer for you tonight. I’m out and about right now. - The reason I didn’t include that one though is because you don’t really need it to get the job done. Ttyl doll.

naq57 Hey Nora, the “activator” in the kit is comprised of ethyl acetate, butyrolactone, dimethyltolylamine which is really just resin (or glue) activator.

Thank you for this! So the base and top coat are basically super glue, but what is the activator? ❤️
