You don’t need uv lamp for this cause dip powder is attached with nail glue nd using monomer is exactly the same as acrylic powder just more creamer. I think anyways. I’ve been using dip powders cause there cheaper than original acrylics. 👍🏽

Dip powders ARE real acrylic powder..its just more finely milled. As far as the softness and cure times, the more pigmented powders have less acrylic and probably should be used as design elements instead of full nails.

I have been using dip powders over a year and love it. I use it in a different way than demonstrated on this video. I brush on a base coat, gel foundation, dip or sprinkle dipping powder than cure in a lamp, again repeat process until you see the depth of your colour lastly brush on top coat cure than wipe off the dispersion layer and done. For people who have lamps that’s the way I found to do it and nails do not chip and stay on long without breakage. If no lamp than follow procedures like Anastasia did. At moment I did extension nails on me with acrylic dipping powders whatever brand you can afford to buy. Of course you prep and dehydrate the nail bed follow prep procedures really carefully not to have lifting. Thanks Anastasia as always🙏🏻

Thank you. I found some beautiful dips that I experimented with because I hate the dip process. I have used dip powder as acrylic overlay. You need to experiment with dryness of the bead/pearl. Some are not fine enough and look grainy. I don't think a lot are strong enough because they seem brittle. You can mix them with clear gel or acrylic to make sure that it's strong. I had a awful time filing though.

Were those asking. About using regular acrylic powder for dipping, I’ve used it in the old application that used to be called acrygel. This was before the brand of acro gel that’s like poly gel. I prepped the nail, applied a base gel (at the time I was using Gellish foundation liquid), then applied the dip powder and cured it. I’ve been buffed it with a buffing block and repeated the process. You did have to buff it with a buffing block after you were ready to put on the two layers of topcoat because it was a little rough. You can use a small grinding mail with regular acrylic and make it finer milled. I’ve sent seen a pretty recent video from another nail tech using Kiara Sky dipping powder, and just using the gel in between coats and nuking it. She didn’t use the activator or their basecoat. Of course, there are two in one dipping powders, such as Not Polish, Chisel, IBD Dip and Sculpt. There are a couple of others you just have to google to in one dipping powder powder.

I’m wondering if she put on the activator that comes with the dip system on top of the formed nail if it would help to harden it up.

Yes it is the only difference is that you will substitute the monomer with the resin activator well at least with the OPI brand.

I have been using Quick Dip by ASP (I believe is the co name). I purchase from Sally's. My question is, can I use any dipping powder with the liquids stage 2 and stage 3. Which are the liquid gel you brush on, the dip in the powder, and then stage 3, the liquid activator? I love the products, the are just getting so hard to find in Sallys since Covid. Even ordering online thru Sallys takes so long. I would like to know if mix matching products would be possible Thanks

I WONDER!!! if you do everything the same way you did in the video but at the end of each nail application you put the "hardener/ developer/ activator" … I don't and nevr did dip before so idk what its called that hardens it but I wonder if that would cure it fully, the WAH-LAH?

I was thinking I could put the dip powder really thin on the nail mainly to get the coverage, and then encapsulate the nail in clear Acrylic for strength and durability? So use the dip powder like a pigment or design powder and use the clear for core...what do you think? :)

Dip takes longer to cure with monomer if at all because they have a higher ratio of pigment to acrylic unless they are made to be used both ways.

Loving this ! Quick question which I couldn’t fine answer in any videos, you or someone can help me. After using monomer with dipping power, do we need to apply activator ? The dipping power has Base, activator and top coat. Does monomer will do the job as an activator ? Thanks
