What I do is file it down as much as I can; I like doing an e-file to take off as much bulk as I can then use a hand file. I also clip off the tip to make it faster, since I use tips on my nails. I don’t have the right bits to take it down to my natural nail or to a really thin layer. After that, I soak cotton pads in acetone and wrap them in foil. I let those sit for as long as I can and check it periodically. I usually wait until the acetone has melted it down to the smallest little lump on my nail then wipe it off with another acetone soaked pad. Wash, moisturize, go about my day. It’s about ~20 minutes so I do it on my day off lol

Get a bowl with hot water, put a bag of sorts inside the bowl, pour acetone in the bag, and let your fingers soak and it comes off in about ten minutes, it help if u put a paper towel in the acetone and rub your nails every other minute. So the water is at the bottom of the bowl and the bag separate the acetone....

I now do my own dip powder and am having so much fun doing it. If I decide to go back when the economy is better and the cost of living isn’t as high as right now, I will try to find a salon that may cost a little extra than my previous salon/s but care about the condition and health of the clients nails too. Not once did any of my previous salons put oil on my cuticles or advise me how to care for my nails in between manis. I’ve learned a lot since becoming a DYI-er!

My brush hardens almost immediately, and then I’m not able to give my nail a really nice smooth finish. Is there any tips you have? I tried the brush saver, but it didn’t seem to work. Ive heard that i can get a gel top coat and a curing lamp, skip the second coat of seal protect, and just do it that way. Do you have any thoughts on this? Also, thank you for these videos because I have learned SO much from you in such little time! ❤️

  • @NailCareerEducation

Yes you can do what you’ve heard. There’s many ways you can finish it. I’ll be honest I’m not a big fan of the topcoat either I find it doesn’t really give a great shine when cured or dried. If the brush does hard and they do supply extra brushes in the kit for that reason, I was suspect they do that because it is an issue. You can also contact the company directly either pretty good about customer service just in case there’s another issue going on here I’m not aware of.

@@Rebster you are correct. However she said the 7. In a comment a couple days ago she said names were drawn but she needs to verify age and that the winners also subscribed to Kiara Sky. Does that mean if you were not contacted you didn't win? Why not announce winners, let them claim the prize then verify age? Or before drawing any winners verify that both youtube channels were subscribed to as required to enter? This is where things don't track, it seems you would only enter names to be drawn AFTER verification of subscription to both channels (why would you even have names entered if they didn't meet the qualifications?) This is the 2nd give away I have entered, so I don't have much experience with this. The youtuber that had the give away used an app to pick winners and she did it on a video (possibly live, I don't remember). She then posted the winners and it was the winners responsibility to contact her to claim the prize. It's long past the 7. Why not post who won? Makes no sense. Gaining subscribers increases profit.
