    +eljono1 The Only reason they KIP is to get more Reps. They all train Strict Pulls ups/ Muscle ups, but kipping allows them to get their chest/chin to bar More and in doing so they get more WORK done which equals more REPS.

    They train with mostly strict, but when it comes to do with things like this speed is the biggest factor so they do whatever is needed to do them as fast as possible.

    Can you show me one video of crosfitter doing a strict muscle up in a proper crossfit WoD or warmup? I'm 100% sure strict pullups are part of the program, but I've never saw anything related to strict muscle ups. I come from a calisthenics background and am practicing crossfit for the last 3 months, and while strict pullups were explained, the only way bar muscleups were mentioned was in a kipping manner. Even more because I can bet most coaches in most boxes can't even do a proper strict muscle up. Not dissing on the sport, but strict MU really are a level above what Crossfit uses in gymnastics.

  • @scottcorbett4175

    @scottcorbett4175

    9 жыл бұрын

    chinguidinsky They do mix things up. The cool thing about crossfit, however, is that pretty much any kind of exercise can be considered "crossfit". The goal is to be well rounded in fitness so that nothing comes as a shock. Need to run? Got it. Need to life a bunch of moderately heavy items? Got it. Need to get up a wall? Got it.

  • @desmoMarco91

    @desmoMarco91

    chinguidinsky lifting weights counts as crossfit too...like benchpress, strict pullups etc

  • @scottcorbett4175

    @scottcorbett4175

    8 жыл бұрын

    First, the injury rates (self reported) for Crossfit are lower than for running and around the same as for Olympic lifting and gymnastics. There is a bias towards shoulder injuries, but that's to be expected. Crossfit is a sport, and sports involve injuries. If you really want to screw up your joints, try basketball or soccer. Otherwise, stick with your nice "safe" programming that doesn't transfer nearly as well into the world outside of a gym.

    The muscle ups themselves are impressive, but what does it accomplish when you use momentum for pullups? It's the jerky motions that cause so many injuries. If you can do it safely then fine, to each his own, but you seriously need someone who knows what they're doing to show you proper form, and judging by the moves with this it would take awhile

    Crossfit HQ..., you are in notice..., your broadcasting is awful. To not be able to watch this video in the US is a clear indication that you need professionals running your efforts. I thought this year would be a step ahead, but the terrible broadcast transitions and microphone drops continue. Couple this with the inability to watch consistently and you now have a die-hard fan that is very, very frustrated and disappointed. It's just not that difficult to move beyond amateur hour.

    I love how crossfit as a brand and form of education was embarrassed when athletes dominated so well while being new to crossfit. Thus showing how ignorant the community of worshipers was. (Froning, Annie, Katrin)

    1. This is not a sport so don't call them athletes, it's offensive to actual athletes who play actual sports 2. There is no point to this because there is no integrity of the workout. No standards 3. The fact that this many people showed up to this shows where this country is going

    This is the reason why people including me can't take crossfit seriously, they claim to be the fitest on the earth and still they deadlift 70Kgs which is air. Also then they kip trough all the pull-ups, chest to bar and muscle-ups. If they would be forced to do them strictly then maybe 1 of the guys could do them if even 1........In crossfit there is so much pride and ego about being the fitests on earth when they are not even coming close to that. It's says in the bible "thou shall not lie" and still these people lie to themself, to other people being fitest on the planet. Also it says in the bible to not have pride or ego and they have huge egos/prides.

    emailjwr I won't do it since i got respect for my body, clean and snatch are dangerous exercises without no benefit. And so what if they clean and snatch too? They could have 2 other bars for that there, thats just a bad excuse to make it easy on the Deadlifts.

  • @jonashuovila9287

    @jonashuovila9287

    emailjwr People with common sense will know they have no benefit, how will the movement transfer to your private life? to your work life? a fight situation? Also it is very dangerous because of the explosivness in the lift, you can bust your knee if your stabilization muscles are to weak and the knee pops inward or outward when doing the move, your ankle can pop inward or outward when doing the move. If you use to much force it can fly to high and hit the throat instead which has happened to a friend of mine, if you use to little force it won't get high enough and the person just wasted energy on doing basicly nothing. I could go on more, but theres no point. 1/3 of exercises in Crossfit are dangerous, 1/3 of exercises in Crossfit are useless/uneeded and the last 1/3 could be good if they did not put in stress/hurry into the movement by saying you got XX time to do so many reps as possible or saying you have to do XX reps in XX time. I'm not hating, im the other hand loving people. Since i don't want them to get injured since it says in the bible to respect your body.

    Jonas Huovila You realize that the Olympics lifts are some of the best lifting movements for athletes especially in sprint events. All those dangers that you pointed out are caused not by the lift but by the athlete not knowing his own boundaries or working towards the weight properly.
