It's been about 12 years since I finished college but learning how to regulate our emotions is a must I believe. I actually got teary when she said the affirmation of 'I'm in a safe place'. I wish I had focus on managing my emotions when I was younger, please keep going, you will do great! Our well-being is always more important than our grades or our jobs.

I've just been shown this technique in my last session with my Health Care provider. Retired Canadian Army diagnosed with PTSD. Still learning it but the immediate sense is of peace and tranquility for a short period of time. Hopefully with practice the positive effects will be longer lasting. I followed along with the video and a sensation I felt was on the left side of my head, a tingling sensation. Bottom line is that for myself the technique helps.

This bilateral stimulation has worked for me in some of the toughest times. I learned this technique in my Voices for Women group session. I have also shared this technique with my kids and hope they utilize this and share where required in times of loneliness. It is very effective. I suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder and my husband PTSD. I have not shared this with him yet but I will certainly do so when he needs. Thanks for sharing!!

I was talking with this person from the Trevor Project (on Trevor Text) and they recommended this video to help calm myself down. I really like Bilateral music for the way it makes my brain feel. This made it feel the same way the music does and I'm super happy about it. Thanks to Jayden for the help!

Hi Vicky, I am a therapist being trained for EMDR and it is not unusual for your emotions to be retrieved while doing the tapping or hugs. Remember you are being stimulated with the tapping. My recommendation would be for you to consider doing EMDR therapy so you can get the full benefit. Maybe there are some memories that are stuck and you need help getting them unstuck. The butterfly hug helps to calm down but you may need to process what it is that it's pending in your memory. Hope this helps.

@@ep2891 My Health Care provider took me through this technique for the first time in our last session. Prior to actually doing it I recalled a specific incident from my life. Yes there were tears but after going through the whole process there was indeed a sense of peace and tranquility. I'm looking forward to becoming more proficient at using the technique.

I can't fucking believe it! I'm just discovering/realizing for the first time in my 44 years of life... The rage and grief I feel... THESE ARE MY SUPERPOWERS! The fact that I can feel these at all, this alone, is my superpower! It is sacred it is divine it is feminine it is miraculous. Most are too numb to know or to feel. But I know. And I feel. This has all been in preparation for my mission as an alchemist. I am a Lioness. I am a Goddess. I am a Radically Honest Biker Bitch! Holy heaven I am mind-blown! HALLEUJAH! AND PRAISE THE LORD!

As in holy Quran Allah said- 28:32 Now put your hand through ˹the opening of˺ your collar, it will come out ˹shining˺ white, unblemished. And cross your arms tightly to calm your fears. These are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs. They have truly been a rebellious people.”
