Fun facts: 1) At the beginning the lacing on Rapunzel's dress is in front, because she has to get dressed by herself. In the end she wears a dress with lacing on the back, because now she has someone to help her tie it 2) Rapunzel is the only Disney princess with green eyes. Others have blue or brown eyes (except for Pocahontas and Mulan, who have black) 3) Pay attention to baby Rapunzel's mobile. It has figurines predicting her adventure (a chameleon, a white horse, etc.) 4) There are symbols of other Disney princesses on the newels in the tower (rose for Belle, apple for Snow White, shell for Ariel, slipper for Cinderella and spinning wheel for Aurora/Sleeping Beauty)

Exactly. Actually. You should check out Cinema Therapy. They did a video about this movie and how mother Gothel hits all 11 checkpoints for a classic gaslighter. Really good watch. I recommend it if you haven’t seen it.

Tbh they did a very good job of portraying it, as well as Rapunzel's conflicting emotions when she leaves the tower, which is an obvious side affect of 18 years of mental manipulation and abuse. Very well done

I think the "mom" is so hatable for a lot of the same reasons Umbridge is. She's the type of evil that you actually come across in the real world. Maybe to a less extreme, but we've all met someone like her.

Funny story. So, I watched this for the first time in theaters while my six-year-old cousin sat on my lap, unbeknownst to me they had seen it already, I start to cry when Eugene says you were my new dream. Seeing that I'm upset my cousin turns to me and says, "It's ok don't cry she has magic tears." ... Thanks for that Bud.

The scene that touch me the most is when you see Rapunzel's parents preparing for throwing their lanterns. It's silent. Dead silent. And without a words they make you understand their dynamics pretty quickly. The queen is helping to dress the king. She put his necklace and she's the first to reveal her face. You can see sadness and sorrow. Then she look up and we reveal to you the king face. He's crying. His face showing even more pain than his wife. I'm pretty sure he felt guilty for it FOR YEARS for whatever reason. And what does the queen do ? She touch his cheeks tenderly and SMILE at him. She's the one who allow him to keep on going. The pillar. That scene is so touching everytime i look at it.... Showing love without a word. Just with gestures and facial expressions.... So. Well. Done ❤

One brilliant thing about this movie is that the King and Queen say so much without saying one word. The animation of their facial expressions and body language says exactly what they're feeling and thinking. It's so perfect and it makes me cry every time to watch the King's face the night they send out the lanterns... you know exactly how he's feeling. It's heartbreaking.

Gaslighting is very real and Disney did a get way of representing it. A couple of other things. I think the people who worked on the movie said that Flynn was in his late 20’s. 1) Disney asked woman to what makes an attractive guy, after a couple of weird “Flynn’s”. The beloved Flynn was make! 2) They also asked a bunch of women what was the worst things their mother’s told them, and added that to the song or the script.

🤣🤣breathe, breathe🤣🤣🤣you're about to explode with anger for Gothel🤣 What she's doing is a classic move of abusive parents, is call gaslighting.Is actually good that they show that in a movie, that way people will identify it when they see it, since is a covert way of abuse.I went through that with my mother but no one helped me,who knows, maybe this movie helped a lot of kids...

"Umbridge from Harry Potter". That was awesome. It had me dying! 😂

There is also a tangled tv movie, tangled: before ever after, a 3 season show called tangled: the series (aka Rapunzel's tangled adventure), and a tv short where they get married, tangled ever after. The show is amazing, from storyline to incredible music. I wish it had more recognition, everyone should watch it

I love this movie! It’s one of my favourite Disney princess movies Rapunzel really does have a heart of gold. Mother Gothel is such a good villain tho, she knows exactly how to manipulate and I think what makes her the most anger inducing is the fact that she’s so real, so many know someone like her who acts like they love them but is manipulating and gaslighting without them realising I think the way they portrayed that was so well done. Also I think I might be colour blind because at minute 26:25 when you kept asking what blue means I swear I see purple… unless you’re talking about something else

You should give the series a watch, it's so good. Also has a lot of life lessons and emotions but it's also just really fun and enjoyable. The music is fantastic too.

This is one of my favorite modern day Disney creations. I am old enough to be a super fan of the old stories and films, so... 🤣 Rapunzel is amazing. Flynn is the best "prince" almost ever. A thief and a Princess. I much prefer that dynamic out of most others. Makes it far more entertaining. And I love all your reactions. I have fallen down the KZread black hole watching all of them. The name of the kingdom (which they don't say in the movie) is very unfortunately named. It's called Corona. So here we have a young woman forced to stay in her home to avoid Corona. It's really eerie.

In the original story of Repunzel, or at least the one I read as a child, Repunzel would wrap her hair around a nail or something, & send the rest of it down for the witch to climb, so it wasn't actually pulling from her head & hurting her.

I saw this in the theater and fell in love with it. Grabbed it on Blu-ray and watched it a bunch more and still love it.

This is hunchback of notre dame all over again. Minus the perents being alive of course

The story is even more sad if you watch the series and realise just what Mother Gothel did.

It's a great Disney movie, very funny! Please I recommend you to watch Bridge to Terabithia (2007) and Little Women (2019) :)

Ngl, your hatred for Mother Gothel is refreshing. She's an awful person, regardless if she *wasn't* Rapunzel's actual mother, Rapunzel thought she was. She thought this was her mother and Gothel abused, gaslit and isolated her for 18 years. Like I can't imagine how many problems she's going to have because of it later in life. Also, little moments like at 7:45 are interesting, if you notice, Gothel never kisses *her* , she kisses her hair. Everything, even her petnames and bits of affection, are all tied back to the flower and the fact that Gothel only "cares" because of her power. That being said, this is honestly by far my favorite Disney movie, because of their relationship alone. I adore how complex it makes Rapunzel and her story, not to mention the animation is stunning. They spent so much time and effort animating her hair alone.

Cinema Therapy has Mother Gothel at a perfect 10 for 10 for Gaslighting.

just to let you know on august 25th a sunday will be the exact day that 85 years ago the wizard of oz was first shown watch it that day to celebrate the classic
