Usually true, though not always. Vicki Peterson sometimes wrote songs like "James" and "He's Got A Secret", which she gave to Susanna to sing.

There really should have been more Bangles songs with Debbi on lead vocals. This is them at their best.

The biggest mistake that was made with these gals, was to not let them be themselves and remain together.

One look from Susanna could melt a glacier.

Everyone including us (fans) can nominate the band if they approve the nomination. So the guilty can also be us. I don‘t know if they already had nominations, anyway the nominees must have a history of charitable contributions and they did it. It's unclear whether the requested 40K or 50K (75K 2023) should be sent to the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce along with the nomination or after the application has already been accepted. However the first thing to do is to ask their permission "Vicki Susanna Debbi".....(and Annette or Micki?) Bangles‘ hits have at least 100 mln more views than GoGo‘s. If any fan club collects signatures and offers for their nomination for the star in the Walk of Fame let me know!

I have always been beyond wowed by how she can sing while drumming like that! Had the vinyl. Wish I still did.

I had always rooted for Debbie, I was extatic when this track was released as a single in the summer 1989

I was at this concert at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. They finished the regular show (which I think Vickie said was a homecoming because they were from Santa Monica I believe) and then they told us that they were going to film a music video. They danced and lip synched through the song; it was fun. Always enjoyed these 4 ladies that could write and sing and rock their instruments.

I was at this concert as well. They totally rocked! We also stayed for the filming of the video after the concert. Now when I watch this video, I still look at the faces in the audience to see if I recognize anyone but no such luck. To this day, this is my favorite song from the Bangles!

It's telling how the video editor kept going back again, and again, and again (near the end) to Susanna Hoffs' face and her "come hither" glance that promised a wealth of earthly delights.

4 beautiful girls on stage with beautiful singing and music. The Bangles are the best female band and a dream come true for me.

Debbie has a beautiful voice, she sings like Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac. If you put both of them in a room, ask them to sing, it would hard to tell the difference. Debbie should have sung more.

Never been a fan of either. To each their own, but to me Christine McVie sounds like when the wife of the guy who runs the karaoke machine sings a couple of songs because not enough people have signed up yet. Yep, Debbie also sang lead on "Going Down to Liverpool." Great band, and they all could sing amazingly well!

Probably their most underrated song and Debbie Petersen has to sing it live while playing dtums. No easy feat.

Michael Steele looks really great here. Her hair & makeup were on point. Susanna & Vicki were conventionally the prettier of the group but they all had really good features which I think is why, aside from their obvious musical talents, they were as successful as they were.

That harmony though...

The Bangles are good for the ears but for the eyes too !

Their harmonies were spot on. We think of Suzanna as the lead singer, but they all took their turns, and it just worked.

Yeah, I had no idea that she was the one doing main vocals on this track. I thought it was the redhead. Micki, I believe. I grew up with this band, they were one of my favorites. It's only looking back that I realize who they were and how awesome they are.

My favorite song, of which Michael Steel, on bass, beautiful and aggressive.

Love the 80’s hair, Michael Steele was sporting some awesome big and long 80’s hair, wild and curly

@@johndoran1754 agreed. Hall & Oats have sold more albums than any other duo in rock music history. It took a few years ago for the hall to elect them and they were not very fond of it. In fact, they were outspoken about it. These women have sold over 35 million albums, have two number one hits and 6 top 11 hits. I could go on. There is no excuse for it.

Be still my heart! The Bangles made the 80's special...and the 2000's. They can still bring it. Talent to spare, incredibly beautiful and they looked like it was so much fun up there! Nobody sang harmony so well...ever.

Most of the problem is we don't pay musicians anymore. Even with the promoters, bands of the past made millions on record sales, CDs, cassette tape. Now its all streamed. Google pays em .006 cents per song. Its BS. If theres no money to be made good bands give up... they gotta eat.

Everything is an amazing album. So sad to see them break up during the tour. A different light and Everything back to back. Two of the best pop albums still to this day.

I was a member of Bangles 'n' Mash International back in the '80s (their official fan club)--glad to see they're back! Susanna looks better than ever! Too bad Michael retired, I suppose she and Vickie are still together...

Not often you can find 4 very talented and Gorgeous gals crankin out GREAT music. Saw them in the 90s and it was a wonderful show.

They had a certain calmness and smoothness about them like no other. I simply dubbed them as: *"The Greatest Thing To Have Ever Come Out Of The State Of California."*

So sad that this was their last hit single. Their music and arrangements were getting better and better with each album. When this song was released as a single, the Bangles were pretty much finished as a band. At least, 3 of them are still making music after reuniting around 1999.
