The Balance of Care & Accountability

🎥 | Today, PT 2 of Care and Accountability for your Team.
As Danny spoke about last week, it is important to have a balance of care along with accountability that you must have to lead a team.
🚨 Behaviors cause risk 👉 It can be blaming others, not taking responsibility or ownership. Or it can be looking to deflect blame somewhere else.
Listen, we all make mistakes, but owning those and working to improve moving forward is what we truly want from our teams.
🔸 Don't allow team members to cover up information that may be critical to the outcome. Honesty and transparency are key.
🔸 When receiving credit - If due, give it to the members of your team that have helped make it successful. Remember it is about all, not just you.
🔸 When giving tough feedback, be fair, but speak the truth. Try to drive something positive out of the conversation. Be clear, but respectful.
✍️ Engaged leaders show that to their teams in 5 ways.
🔸 Show care to the team in various ways and make it evident.
🔸 Build acceptance. Show them every chance you can.
🔸 Seek to understand - Listen more than you talk.
🔸 Openness - No agenda, be real, honest, straightforward.
🔸 Support the structure of the team. Work inside it.
