I am American but I have read every Smash Hits from 1980-1987 and I STILL find some of the these questions challenging! Love it! Miss the 80s!!!!!!

I love how legends (and RnR Hall of Fame inductees) Ian Gillan and David Gilmour are on the show but it's Mike Peters who get an honourable mention!

The "modern" version of the mullet is absolutely CRAP 😞😞😞

The first tune on by the Stranglers is a absolute banger.hanging around.why this song was never released as a single is a mystery.what a tune.😁😇

I saw the video of the song when they played it at the University of Surrey, Guildford - their home town - for the BBC series _Rock Goes to College,_ before storming off stage as the university failed to honour their agreement with the band to make tickets for the show available outside the university. Hugh Cornwell, immediately after playing the song: "Guildford University never represented Guildford. We hate playing to elitist audiences, so f*ck off!"

The first time they appeared on the show back in August 1981, they were on the same team with Midge Ure. Gilmour was captain opposite Phil Collins, who had Elkie Brooks and Barry Mason on his team.

The First Picture Of You was so obvious!

You can always tell the date of these by Mike Read's mullett!

I remember watching this TV show when I was a kid. I was 8 years old when this episode aired.

Because to the vast majority of people who watched this show, and more specifically were in its audience, Dave Gilmour was a dinosaur who their mums and dads used to listen to.

Flippin heck, it's Michael J Mullins from Modern Romance. I also remember him turning up years later as a backing singer for Cliff Richard in that awful Christmas song.
