I've had a thing for Green since I was 12 (1988) when I saw him performing "Oh Patti" on Telethon '88. The shyness, his good looks, that voice and amazing lyrics...all of it❤

At 17:14 that was quite fun and premonatory that the clip for Paul Young was from Hall & Oates. The following year, he would have sang "Everytime you go away" originally from Hall & Oates, but his rendition was a worldwide success.

Paul and Toyah appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks as well - Paul three times (in 2000, 2002 and 2006) and Toyah five times (in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2004 and 2005, the last one also being Mark Lamarr's final episode as host). Both were tons of fun when they were on the show. Toyah flirted with Mark a lot, while Paul sang a self-written music hall song called "Touching Cloth".

I guess he probably wouldn't have been a big pop star if he hadn't been a bit funny and charming. Still he is an utterly disgusting piece of crap though, given what he did.

Its fun to check what i remember

Gary Glitter was just cringeworthy here in so many ways kind of subtly showing what we wound up finding out. How he would buzz and stall the answer or have it answered for him. Mike Read showed way too much patience with that. It was also gross he way Glitter was pawing Annabelle and Green especially looked more and more uncomfortable as the episode went on. The body language with him moving further away is a bit of a giveaway.

What a pity Gary Glitter is on this episode, apart from him it's a great line up, my sister dated Pete Phips the drummer from the Glitter band always felt sorry for the guys from his band, they were good musicians, & had a few hits on their own, so his pervy behavior ruined their chances of playing.

Definitely "Leader". That was what his fans used to call him. It came from the song "Leader of The Gang (I Am)". My ex was a fan of Glitter when he was a young teenager in the late 70s, and he always referred to him as The Leader.

we would have never had shows like this in the U.S. and if we did they only have the hugest lamest pop stars on them, i doubt most people her would now who Toyah is and they sure as hell wouldn't know Annabel Lamb.

Just found out they first met already in '83 (in the clip titled 'This Is Your Life: Toyah Willcox)', so it's well possible things between the two had already developed further by the time this episode was aired.

they met a bit before...they shared a taxi..to an event ..where she took the piss out of this very serious shy man....Princes Micheal was there.....put them together for a press photo....which appeared in The Daily Mirror....with Robert Fripp cut off.
