Guys.. please react to The Hunger Games trilogy.. Because the prequel just came out and the fandom really having a hot reunion! After the series, the prequel HIT DIFFERENT. “What are you gonna name him?” “Gyatso” that reminded me of the fan theory that momo is a reincarnation of Gyatso. They have the same playful spirit, and came to Aang to reveal the date of Monk Gyatso, as if that was him showing his own fate. Then joined him on his journey, as if a way to watch over him.

It's not really a Fan Theory. It's something the Creators thought of doing, but then decided to scrap that idea.

Listen to how crazy this sounds: the third episode of an animated children’s program made by Nickelodeon is about a 12 year old learning all of his people have been wiped out by genocide. WHAT?! ATLA is amazing for a million reasons and one is definitely its ability to integrate incredibly dark topics with skill while maintaining tone and humor. A masterclass in writing

Fun fact/fan theory: Air nomads believe all life is precious hence killing anyone or anything is never ever the solution. So, to the fan theory: Gyatso actually killed himself and all those fire nation soldiers by sucking the air out so everyone asphyxiated to death. Also for the future: people cannot see the air bending since it's air (DUH) unless ofc there's dust in the air or if he's moving objects using air (even then people won't believe it's air bending since they think airbenders don't exist anymore). It's only animated so the viewers know what's happening.

I must say, despite it being off topic from the video, having watched you guys for a few months now and gotten to learn and appreciate each of your individual qualities; your friendship is really charming. You guys have a chemistry that you can tell comes from knowing each other for a long time and giving each other the room to just be yourselves. I mean that you guys seem really comfortable around each other and your friendship seems really genuine and like you really like each other. You’ve got good chemistry

The way gyatso's body was intact- theories say he most likely took all the air out from the room suffocating the soldiers and himself

I remember seeing promos for this when I was 10 and watching the entire series from its debut to its end its easily my favorite cartoon ever. Alos what I noticed is that most reactorss don’t realize how hard of a life Aang woke up too. You’re told 4 years early that you’re the strongest bender in your life time and that you have to master all elements and keep balance. He then runs away due to fear and gets trapped and in a storm and out of survival unlocks his super abilities and saves himself and his best friend but is frozen for 100 years. Now you wake up to a new world where all your people and culture have been destroyed and still have the world needing your help.

My favorite part was: "Roku's a crazy way to watch TV" "... okay..."

Flying lemurs were originally used by the Air Nomads as a working animal. They were trained to fetched their staffs. The creators even contemplated a shot of Momo fetching a staff in this episode, raising the question: "Who trained Momo?" But in the end, they opted against it.

Love the quick uploads!! Waiting a week (especially for one episode) can be excruciating sometimes! Thank you !

A lot of people tend to wonder how Sozin was able to execute such a widespread genocide. Well, there's a comic called "Relics" that touches on this and is canon. Some Air Nomads did escape and Earth Kingdom spies would spread rumors about other survivors in the mountains, where Air Nomads would feel most at ease. They would decorate caves in Air Nomad artifacts, wait for them to arrive, ambush them and kill them. Zhao took pleasure in rubbing it in Aang's face that it worked for "one last Air Nomad." And the last lines of the comic, are as haunting as Aang saying out loud "I really am the last Airbender." Katara mentions that Aang, as a Nomad must've felt at home in the mountains. And mentioned as a way to try and cheer him up, that Air Nomads would've been attracted to the place. His response? "...Yeah. A few of them probably *_were."_* It's incredibly poignant, and immensely haunting.

Thats a really cool fact. Isnt there a theory one of the girls in the fire kingdom is a descendant of Air Nomads? Because while she isnt an airbender her moves and some have noted her appearance is like an air nomad.

The writers almost did an episode based on the idea that Momo was the reincarnated Monk Gyatso. Other story ideas that didn't make the cut include: learning about Aang's parents, and an entire episode where Sokka and Aang are handcuffed together.

Firebending is naturally an aggressive style, like fire itself.

Fun fact many aspects of ATLA are from India e.g. the word Avatar itself, Agni, chakras, Buddhism, Hindu concepts etc. Most people acknowledge the various east Asian cultures represented but sadly fail to recognise the south Asian roots of soooo many things in the show

Each element corresponds with a certain weather season: water = winter, earth = spring, fire = summer, air = autumn. The weather and element themes also correspond to the three television series seasons.

Really excited that you guys are finally watching this series! I’m so jealous! I wish I can watch this series for the first time. Y’all are in for an adventure :) Some advice: You really shouldn’t read the comment section from here on out, because you might get spoiled and you really DO NOT want to get spoiled for this series! If you can you should get someone to mod the comment section before you read it. Even if people in the comment section think they’re being careful to not spoil something for you, it’s not hard to read between the lines sometimes.

Agni Kai gets its name from the Sanskrit word Agni- which means fire, and the word Kai, Japanese for meeting. Therefore, Agni Kai means Fire Meeting.

"Agni, isn't that the god of fire?" Yes! Well-noticed, Bryce. Agni is indeed the Hindu god of fire, and the word itself ("agni") is Sanskrit for "fire" It is the word for both fire itself and the god presiding over it Also, Kai (会, かい) is Japanese for "meeting" so an Agni Kai translates directly to "fire meeting" (duel/battle)

The more you guys watch the show, the more answers will be revealed. Believe me. Please be patient. The rewards will be totally worth it. Glad you guys are enjoying the show so far. I still feel so bad for Aang. Imagine being the last of your culture and being the only airbender left.

This episode was so heavy and emotional, the way Aang reacts to the genocide... trauma I love how this series doesn't shy away from some darker stuff even though it's "for kids"

fun fact about momo. momo is the japanese word for peach, which is what sokka was eating when momo snatched it from him at the end of the episode. aang named momo after the fruit that he stole from sokka lmao

Never forget this episode or episode 12 as many people will tell you the entire first season is just childish nonsense. Instead we get a look at genocide and the dead bodies that result from that. This is stuff that cartoons for many decades would NOT show, esp when it came to 'childrens' tv. One of the first of many episodes that deal directly with more adult topics, though avatar manages to do so tastefully and not in such a way that, carefully guided, small children and the whole family can't still watch it. By the way, shout out to Gyatso. Notice how many he took with him? He died like a BOSS.
