LOL... Plastic Cloud. Most definitely when I think acid rock I think Hendrix. Back in the late 60s when we were partying on acid Hendrix got played the most.

i don't know who bobby gas is (if he's taken the right acid maybe he doesn't know either) but i do know who you are and appreciate getting a chance to hear a record that's as good as "forever changes" that i haven't heard. my only question is "did you see them at winterland in in 1972?" some harmless teasing of norman m.! thanks for the video. i'm going to blaze through them this summer!

@@vinylrichie007 i enjoyed "the plastic cloud" album. it doesn't need to be as good as album that's clearly a sacred cow for me also. i didn't know album existed. thanks for the heads up. i'm guessing the plastic cloud never even met bill graham!

Those are some nice Acid Archives selections. Three of those LPs are one's I've not heard, but the book readings gave some good information on them. I noticed your book is thicker than my 2006 copy. Will have to listen to these now, you got me curious!

I wish I had dove into psych more back in the 80’s. The Acid Archives is such a good source of information. I’m sure you could do this with your eyes closed.

Fab! Glad this idea inspired. Its an easy way to do some short focused videos, which i can use. And here yout put 5. I have most of these but not the Bulbous Creation. When i first checked it out i thought it was too bluesy. I have to teyyagain. neutral spirits is an absolute scorcher. Crazy good, great songs! It should have been in my psych top 100. And Plastic Cloud i dig but isnt quite top tier for me. But i have and keep for sure. Personally I love the xian psych so Search Party im definitely into, but bizarre even for this genre. Looking forward to more!

Hey man. Glad you got inspired, I'm a big fan of both you and Dom, so cheers! Bulbous Creation is one of my favorite heavy albums, I have the Rockadelic reissue. Very cool that you own Deerfield lp. Where did you find it? Neutral Spirits I've never heard of, will check it out. I own many Void reissues and have no problem with that label. People are crazy. It would be impossible to find originals, so Void, Akarma, Rockadelic, Phoenix, Sun Beam, etc. did us justice. Plastic Cloud is one of my favorites as well, and it did take me multiple listens to get it. Search Party I don't own, have heard it a few times, will have to revisit. Great lps overall. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊

Good entry for this thread. I have only heard the Bulbous Creation and Montgomery Chapel. I think the Plastic Cloud review references the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band (WCPAEB). As you let your hair grow out you and Bobby Gass are morphing into one, you just need more white in your hair. I think that I am going to try another album for this series. Thanks, Chris

I can’t keep up with all the abbreviations and acronyms. WCPAEB is pretty ridiculous. Though that is one of the worst band names ever.

Spotify seem to be including a lot of obscure and re-released albums, from the 60’s/70’s, there’s much more detailed info on Bulbous Creation, The Plastic Cloud and The Search Party, for example! Someone’s getting it right!

I'm trying to learn more about this stuff. I don't like all the differing styles, but the weirder & harder rocking ones tend to be my faves. The 1968 Xtian band I was telling you about on my Thursday livestream is called "The Holy Ghost Reception Commitee" and I think the album title is "#9 - Songs for Liturgical Worship". Not sure what breed of folk/acid/psych it would be considered...

Well done, you sold me on Neutral Spirits. Since an OG goes for $1200 I bought the reissue for $20. Bill Young use to have a OG of the first album Bulbous Creation. I have a copy of Plastic Cloud- recommended by Bill- but I never got into it. I need to try it again whenever I get my records I do have that book also, great stuff.
