The 2023 Acura Integra 6-Speed Is An Adult Friendly Manual Sporty Sedan

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The #AcuraIntegra is a powerful name among enthusiasts. When #Acura first announced the return of the #Integra name, it got a lot of hype due to its 25 year hiatus. The newest Integra has evolved into a much more sophisticated machine, but the basic formula is still there. Honda Civic bones with a more premium and mature feel. The #IntegraASpec adds more visual flair and its one of the very few vehicles in its segment to still offer a 6-speed manual transmission.

So we hear rumors that Acura is doing some Integra Type S prototype drives for media out in Japan next month and while the company has been quiet about the existence of the Type S, we expect an official announcement to happen before the end of the year. Are you guys excited for the higher performance variant?

I dont care WHAT these bozos say. I WANT that last of the last Type-S Manual transmission as it will probably be the final 'row your own gears' chance before every car manufacturer goes all electric by 2030+. And so before all these whiners and complainers know it, they will have missed their chance to get one for themselves and I will be laughing maniacally until my throat is sore while sitting in one, thank u very much~ Have a nice life! Smart move , realistically the Integra is about the same as the Civic touring. Had it since early July. Surprisingly roomy interior (I'm coming from a Mazda 3 hatch); grainy backup camera, no 360-degree camera; gets amazing gas mileage (averaging just over 37mpg right now). I like the HUD quite a bit. Android Auto wireless integration is a bit buggy and wireless charging has been iffy (that could be the fault of my Pixel 6, not the car). Handling and cornering are just wonderful - it's so light it feels good to toss around corners. Overall a lovely car and it's turned more than a few heads (I got the blackout package on a black exterior).

At $38k, if it came with AWD, ( the one thing Acura puts down our throat, that the Acura brand are pushing to be), it would make sense. It would also give it uniqueness over the Si. There's not enough for me, to make me buy it over the Si. It's obvious that they brought back the Integra name because it's a powerful nostalgic connection of Acura of old. They know that new car buyers are more responsive to name, and social media promotion, more than the some of parts, when it's obvious that it's a ILX.

When you really think sensibly the CVT makes sense. This is an entry level model for people wanting a nice daily driver. A DCT would raise the cost and make things far too complicated and expensive to replace. Honda's CVTs are really good around town. I personally only have bought manual cars all my life, but if I was getting an auto, might as well get a Honda CVT because it was the best experience around town - super smooth, surprisingly quick response for a CVT and no head jerking that annoys me in conventional autos when they shift whenever they want.

Who’s interested in buying an Auto Integra? (Losers that’s who) I had a 96 Integra with a 5 speed as my second car. My wife had a 2004 RSX Type S (I wish we never got rid of the RSX Type S, I still get upset thinking about the day we traded in it for a 328 Xi) I would never buy a small car with an Automatic transmission. I also had a 2008 Honda Civic with a 5 speed manual. I’m looking to get the 6 speed MT for when my kids start driving. Those looking for automatic transmissions should look else where. I hate my 2008 and 2019 Acura MDX auto transmissions. Autos should be limited to heavy duty diesel trucks like my F-250.

The Civic touring is an excellent car. The only reason to upgrade to an Integra would be the sportier tune and limited slip diff (and a manual trans if you want it) on higher end models, along with slightly nicer sound system. But if those things dont matter as much, theres no reason for you to change. The Integra does ride a little stiffer and has a bit more road noise (probably from the tires).

Just know that the 10-speed automatic in the Accord Touring 2.0T and the TLX/TLX A-Spec is never happening and the chances of the old ILX's 8-speed DCT going in the Integra Type S is a very slim one to not happening ever at all. For it to save money, it may just be manual-only just like the FL5 Civic Type R and if that's to be the case, I'll be perfectly happy of that as I drive a manual transmission now as my daily and would love to add a 2nd manual transmission car to my fleet. Anything missing in the Integra Type S like its competitors like heated and cooled seats, rear passenger vents, and whatever else may get put on the Integra Type S, but do expect the Integra Type S to be nearly identical to the price of the FL5 Civic Type R if anything. If you want the raw, visceral feel, you get the Honda. If you want the subtle, but still powerful with the nicer amenities and niceties and under the radar sleeper appearance, you get the Acura.

The max production capacity from its release in June to September was only 1500 units per month due to chip allocations (by they way, 1500 units per month is really good for a sedan. How many 2022 Civic Sis do you see on the road?). They were able to increase 2500 units in October which is remarkable. For comparison sake, the Civic sells (delivers) around 10,000 units a month (and that is across all Civic models, so the SI is FAR less).
