The 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre Is A Spectacular Ultra Quiet Luxury Coupe With 007 Vibes

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#RollsRoyce is finally introducing their first fully-electric model. For 2024, the #RollsRoyceSpectre is replacing the long-running #Wraith in the lineup and the new #Spectre may borrow its name from the James Bond movie franchise, but this bespoke ultra luxury coupe is built on the same architecture of luxury platform from the Phantom, Ghost, and Cullinan, but it borrows its battery pack and motors from the BMW i7.

    Happy 4th of July everyone! Hope you all had a safe and relaxing holiday with your friends or family! This is literally the most expensive car we have ever tested so far, and while going electric makes sense for Rolls-Royce, we will still undoubtably miss the old twin-turbo V12, just for the bragging rights of having 12-cylinders under the hood. We'll be curious to see if the company eventually does a more powerful Black Badge variant down the road.

I don’t want to be confined and reliant upon fucking charge stations on something a little bit more Analogous and have character as well as timeless technology as a combustion engine I’m all set with driving with essentially is An iPod

    Where did all the $ go for development? They just stole the power train from the 7 series. Any thoughts?

  • @jpl8878

    @jpl8878

    2 күн бұрын

    Development started about 10 years ago when they started the Architecture of Luxury platform. A new platform is very expensive and is amortized over a number of years and vehicles. But Rolls Royce only sells 6,000 vehicles a year, so each has to carry some portion of the platform cost. Also while they use the i7 powertrain, they also have to adapt it to their goals. For example, they attenuate the acceleration from rest for occupant comfort which BMW doesn't do. They also do a lot of sound testing with respect to noise levels and frequency of the noise they allow to enter the cabin. iDrive had to be re-skinned. And they also order expensive components like the metal switch gear, leather, and wood paneling in small quantities which doesn't allow for bulk discounts. All of that leads to an expensive final product for the consumer. The i7 is probably 80% of the car for 20% of the cost. But that last 20% of the car is meaningul for RR buyers and the extra 80% cost is not.

    I’d certainly take the Cadillac _CELESTIQ_ over this because the design is more opulent to me, but this is the most beautiful Rolls Royce they build right now imo.

    It can be customizable does not mean they can do anything your heart desires, and it definitely does not mean it's on Rolls Royce level. GM does not even have the craftsmanship nor the craftspeople to build something on an Aston Martin or Bentley quality, let alone Rolls Royce

    Yo lo que veo aquí como buen crítico, veo demasiado dinero 💰 , dónde Hyundai tiene un paso arriba pudiendo hacer un vehículo bien similar y hasta mejor por menos dinero por que no veo nada de reliability al paso de los años solo veo exclusividad y en un auto ya no es como qué algo muy importante 🎉😂 creó que la marca está muriendo 💀 hasta su guía es de bmw nada exclusivo el mismo de un supra!😅😂

    One thing that I don't understand. If your screen for your speedo/tac/fuel just looks like analog gauges, why not just use really high quality and fancy gauges? I'd much rather have that than the lack luster look this expensive car has. Why not make it very customizable if you're using a screen?

    I think making this a EV was a mistake , yes smooth power is what rolls is about , but rolls is also about being exclusive, bespoke and special, what is special about a EV powertrain? And this car will have a waaaaay shorter life than previous rolls , battery packs just don't last
