Once again, the police completely failed a murder victim. The fact that they never bothered to investigate Ryan, the person she supposedly ran off with, is just insane. That should've been the first step in verifying that she left of her own free will. Not to mention the fact that Sherry had an established history of constant contact with her sister and the rest of her family, and she suddenly drops off the face of the earth and never speaks to them again, and her husband and father-in-law show up saying strange things at her family gathering. Just...a million red flags. And they didn't even confirm her husband's alibi of being at work! That was the BARE MINIMUM of investigation. Just infuriating. That entire police department can rot in hell for this.

"Why don't women report things? Why don't they go to the police?" Gee, ask Shelly, who was ignored and dismissed for over a decade. They just believed the husband/father-in-law without question, even though an investigation would have taken all of 20 minutes to ask three men a few questions. It wasn't until a man went to the cops and said "this woman is missing" for the police to do anything at all.

She was ignored because that small town is corrupt. That father definitely had ties to corrupt police members or political ties to somebody in office. If you break the whole case down and analyze the whole thing it will all make sense when you put the puzzle pieces together. That case went cold for 14 years because the people running that town wanted it buried. Her sister who never gave up on her found her and she herself didn't go missing as well or touched because it would have raised more suspicion because there where now to many eyes following the case through social media. But yeah there is more to this case than meets the eye. That town has many shady corrupt people and you can tell by them in the video.

I have questions but I really dont want to pry into your personal life when there's no more mystery to be solved. So the only thing Im going to ask is...given the discrepancies you mentioned between what was portrayed and the reality of things, did they depict your dad's role accurately?

@Holy.HannaH First off, I just want to say thank you. Especially for signing the petition. There's still so many more unanswered questions that we won't ever really have the answers to.. but that's okay. We know the truth, and that's what's most important. Around that time in our lives, my dad was an over the road truck driver, so he was gone for weeks at a time. He'd come home, and my mom would be with different dudes. It happened a lot, I still have memories of it multiple times when I was little. So, for him to snap and beat people up when he found out about all the stuff, I completely understand. This whole thing has been very rough for him ever since she "left." He's been an alcoholic basically ever since. Me and him still have a very good relationship. And him "knowing" or being "a part" of it wasn't true. He did multiple polygraph tests to prove his innocence.

@@seldomseen_outdoors Im glad to hear the two of you still have a good relationship. It sure sounded like your dad was as blindsided by this as everyone else but I didnt want to make any assumptions. I'm not in a position to even begin to imagine the pain & grief this has brought upon your entire family and in so many layers, and I in no way intend to minimize any of it, but I certainly felt like in his position your dad probably carries the heaviest load at the end of every day. I definitely understand the emotional, psychological, & neurological state of your parents at that young age, & being an over the road truck driver magnifies that dramatically. (A family member actually did a lot of primary research and based their thesis on that exact notion.) To be honest, despite his chosen coping mechanisms, your dad sounds like a pretty darn good guy, with strong emotions and a heavy conscience. Im nearly 40 and despite being aware & a victim of my mother's abuse & lies and manipulation my entire life, my mind & heart still have a hard time grasping & processing any of it. Especially after losing my father and watching my family dwindle as I get older. It simply goes against nature & is a massive paradigm shift to not be able to trust the one that literally created you & gave you life. I dont know if your dad is aware of this video at all but if you happen to decide to share any of this with him please let him know that, from one human to another..well, just shake his hand or give each other a good hug for me. There are no words but for what little it's worth, if he ever decides to let it all out, scream & shout or curl up and cry etc then he has the encouragement & full support of this complete stranger on the internet. I'm glad you're doing well, I sincerely hope your siblings are too.

Because unfortunately many women do walk away from their kids… it’s that bad out there today… their is corruption in the police department but police do see women just walk way from their families every day. World has gone to crap. Women do it every day all day long. Sad state of this country… I know many men who raise their kids alone because the women just walked walked away refusing to be mothers and just don’t care about their kids. Lots of selfish women out there who care only for themselves… for police it’s hard to tell the difference..: it is what it is… it’s a sad sad world these days.. 😢 it doesn’t matter her family was saying it’s out of character for her. Families can see their family member through rose colored glasses many times… we all will.. cops really can’t tell the difference… their is most certainly tons of corruption in the police department. To lazy to do their jobs and they really could care less about the citizens they swore to protect. So many just don’t care anymore. Because they see so many men and women act so badly and walk away from their families and endanger them. They grow cold and hard and assume their all the same. So women like this get summed up to be another loser who walk away like the other selfish ones when their not. It’s sad. U can’t tell if their lazy or what.

I can’t believe the DA and Sgt. can so easily show their faces with all their evil negligence, inaction and purposeful miscarriage of justice for a man that took TWO beautiful lives from the world. If there’s two lessons to be taken from this it’s the sanctity of family/foster your familial relationships with love and respect AND to remember all the faces of those given power who rather chose not to use it and allow evil fester so that they can at the least be reminded of their injustice.

I can’t think of a case which disgusts me more than this. This reminds me of the Powell case in so many respects. Utterly horrific. The fact it took the _accused_ man to go to police, 13 years after Sherri went missing, to prompt an investigation, because the victims family was ‘harassing’ them. I don’t have words for the horror, the loss, the disgust for the police & DA in this case. How could they put on their fancy suits, and sit for an interview to brag about their excellent police work, after this?? Thank you so much Unseen for centring this channel around victim-survivors. The loss this family has endured is unfathomable. My enormous respect to Shelly, and may Sherri know peace.
