I mean the lump in the throat, the repressed tears, playing such an emotional song of someone you love and you will not see anymore ... The last song of the show, the end of the farewell, a deafening emotional silence despite the applause... I insist, it must have been very difficult, and it made it spectacular, it is a great drummer with a very energetic personal style and with a delicious control of the dynamics. Long live Chad Smith, Rest in Power Mr. Hawkins.

His hi hats live and breath with the song opening and closing subtly. Listen to any peppers. Seems they would be over processed and compressed because they are tbh popular and mainstream. But listen to the way frusciante lets his guitar feedback and squeal and adds a funky imperfect style to his parts. Improvisational too. Same goes for chad again his hi hats and displaced backbeats and hi hat barks. Rhcp are one of my favorite bands they all have great musical chemistry and usually open with wild energy filled improvisation. Chad is probably my favorite drummer of all time maybe bonham second then peart. But chad can be technical amd even jazzy listen to chad smiths bombastic meatbats. He can also be rockin and driving in chickenfoot. In rhcp i feel like hes about done it all they have grungy songs, slow ballads and lots of sexy funk!

Taylor Momsen manages to invoke the golden age Grunge vibe well, her voice is perfectly suited for all kinds of music, although it is sweet it manages to be raspy and grating at the same time. She does justice in every tribute she has been to date, she always ends up picking more than one song, all the musicians involved obviously enjoy collaborating with her. Hawkins' tribute she was a last minute guest and without rehearsing did two songs, Soundgarden's she was only going to do Loud Love, and got three more songs without rehearsing. She is one of the best things that happened to rock n roll in the last decade, a real gift.

Nah you crazy lol its 100% Flea don’t get me wrong I love all of them. You just got to listen to their music as the bass standouts in alote of their songs. Not alote of bass players can say that as their sound is mostly layered under the guitar. Even a newbie with shitty hearing can point out the bass playing.

Perfect cover by Chad Smith. Chad turned it up for this. What a tribute.
Man seeing chad so emotional after playing that hits right in the feels😢
For 6:hours or more dave played with energy of an animal some instrument plus sang with only 150 percent of effort!!! This man is a hero and a great friend, father and ambassador of music Gotta love Dave..

Dave Grohl-a TRUE 🪨 ⭐,the epitome of class, grace, humility(referring to himself repeatedly as a "mediocre" 🥁 and musician. He's just the real deal. Look at the art the guys created throughout his prolific career. He's just the real de,a father, loyal husband and friend. A great man from the looks of things
Dave is using his softer voice. I love that side of his voice. He looks emotionally spent. Sending ❤️💕🙏
I was the tall dude up front n the black Foo shirt. Best concert of my life. Happy to be there, and grateful!
Great Chad!!! The hardest song to play in your life probably... It can't be done better. Great Chad. Rest in power mr. Hawkins

Hawkins.

@@jd0879 How are you all missing the meaning of the comment is beyond me...clearly he's talking not about a technical, but about the emotional aspect of this very performance- performing a song during a tribute for your friend who you have recently lost is something else.

I'm with you - why does it have to be the good ones that go???? I will never understand that..... The orange crazy-man is still here but the wonderful, sweet, loving, intelligent, talented, compassionate Taylor is gone - WTF????
I got a chance to meet Chad Smith and I believe it is around 93 or 94 at the old guitar center in Boston not the one that’s near Fenway now but there was one before that back in the 90s on Commonwealth Avenue but he was doing a clinic and those probably a couple hundred people there but I just wanted to say that Chad Smith is like the most down to earth dude do you never meet just another guy in the pack and I was very gracious with questions just a normal guy man and he always left a good impression on me and it’s playing’s always been spot as far as I’m concerned
I think the foo fighter need to tour with special guest drummers. Every drummer that played the tribute concerts nailed Thier performances.
I can only imagine how emotionally spent Dave must be.......God bless the Foo's

How beautiful this is Taylor Hawkins 🕊️
I love seeing this view of Chad playing his heart out. RIP TH
was curious what chads take on the song would be and he did not disappoint. love watching that man play
It's interesting to watch Chad play these songs, any drummer can tell he has a totally different time feel than Taylor and Dave. Super interesting.

Taylor was Chad’s son, Bennett’s, godfather as well as Roger Taylor’s son, Rufus….the connections between all these guys is palpable ❤
Chad, you're a class act....
So awesome to see people smiling at the end. Never would have thought I’d see Dave Chappelle with this crew 😮
Rest in peace, Taylor. I truly hope you found that peace you couldn’t find in life. You will never be forgotten.
Chad is a great drummer and he and Taylor were very close so many musicians loved him so much 😢
What a perfect reminder of why I love these musicians so much 💜. I regret so much that I never got to see The Foo Fighters live.
Oh wow, that was so hard to watch & then when everyone that loved Taylor came out …..so sad. The love they all gave his son was fantastic. Still can’t believe he’s gone. 😔😢😭
I know that look on Chad's face once the song was done. That man needed a hug. A _real_ hug... 😥
6:38 when Chad hammers the floor tom, stick flies up into the air, catches mid down stroke and smashes crash cymbal is next level and can’t stop watching it
That’s bad ass Chad and the Foo’s!!! Thank you for the years and the tears.
So hard to see this song played by anyone but Taylor, as it is my favorite drum song by anyone. (actually best rock song ever in my opinion) Chad absolutely nailed it. (Nice job fellow Michigander). Coming up on two years and it still does not seem real that Taylor is gone.
everyone misses taylor, and chad is great!
The world love's & misses you Taylor 🤘❤️🙏🇦🇺
Great job chad they were very good buds I’m glad so many great bands and drummers came out for him . He was hell of a guy
chad play with his whole heart
Everybody loves Taylor and he unites everyone.
After the show when they are all relaxing it will hit them.Wow what a great 2 nights of music.
the last part when chad looks back at the stage breaks my haert
I love and missed Taylor 😢
Chad and Taylor's families are so close. I can't imagine how hard this has been for them.
You can see the heartbreak on there faces, especially dave and chad at the end.
The gap left behind when we lose someone who is a part of us. Shared grief can be a beautiful thing.😢❤

WOW heart breaking and warming at the same time. This band is so frigging talented!!!
A beast chad....
I love Chad to bits ❤
This brought me to tears, outstanding performance with a drummer thats such a close friend to Taylor
That was so incredible, yet wrenching to watch. The only thing that saved me from a dark spiral was the thought that Will Ferrell is one hell of a drummer.
The tears from Chad and Dave did it for me. Brother's for life. Rest in Peace Taylor ✝️🙏❤️
Love how they just layed there guitars down and let them feedback over the PA. Almost humming a tune.
Amazing video Thank you Taylor for the beautiful music and memories for millions of people who love you And Thank You to the Foo Fighters for paying tribute in a classy manner with all his fellow musicians and family. 🙏❤️🙏
still can't accept this incredible loss. I wish Taylor knew how loved he was around the world.

Chad Smith is the man! Thank you very very much #MrDaveGhrol.. you soothed our pain as best you could after your horrific loss... I am speechless after you efforts but, I can not fathom your pain.. Oh my word.. #Davegrohl you are a ROCK-SOLDIER.. Ahhh Does everyone else remember Mr Grohls other devastating losses?? Oh my word #rocklife. I have been through similar with my band Strawhorse but, biggest band in the world and you loose Mr Cobain.. I felt serious pain myself.. Obviously I can not fathom your feelings but, it took much from my life as well.. I was a weak pussie and spiraled.. Nirvana was everything to me... Not just Kurt.. The band changed my life, my writing.. many positive ways.. I decided it was worthwhile endeavor to be in a band again.. Without #Nirvana there would be no #Strawhorse.. -my fool band. I was workin my little horribly managed bar job called The #KendallCafe Cambridge, Massachusetts when the news came in.. The bar was a gold mine but, these two that ran the place were incredible idiots.. Neither were there ever!! Their new bar.. !! However, that part of this story is irrelevant.. One has to be dead by know from a hidden drug addiction.. Matt -the Idiot and Mike Talon -asleep at the wheel.. #frigginDopes ... Painful experience.. Then spent a couple years profit on a fukn sign! IBut, I should thank them.. I later became a very high paid restaurant consultant and a GM to several high grossing restaurants.. -BOUGHT A 3 UNIT RESIDENTIAL BUILDING! 👍🏼 thanks to them teally. I learned what NOT to do.. After several lucrative restaurant GM positions I started buying realestate in Boston.. Oh my word nice guys but, clueless "BlackRose" Harvard Square? employees.. I sometimes wonder where that are now.. Mike Talon and Matt? Matt thought he was gonna hookup with a playmate after he realized she was a school mate.. Fukkin idiot with no focus.. yup coke... Ruin your life every time.. Dang.. Where talking 1990? but, it had everything goin for it -#KENDALLCAFE They were so broke, they fired me after a Kendal cafe sandwich put me in the hospital.. worried Id sue.. Sure fellas, I got soul not like you too raving idiots.. Thats ok.. The guy that referred me -#PhillAntoniadis@ADA put my band #Strawhorse on the map and the rest is history ass clowns.. #Everythinghappensforareason #Goons #Soyouwannabearockstar slotted for 2023 release.. Ohhhh your gonna love this! A no holes barred look at trying to make it as a rock band in Boston.. #Strawhorse much more to come.. Please repost #Strawhorse Book do out 2024
Mejor banda de afuera! Gracias miles x existir!!❤
I really love how the sound guys let everything ring out throughout the end.
