Awww man...Josh's shy smile and body language while Anthony mentiones him melts my heart.💔 He looks such a sensitive and fragile boy. I wish him nothing but the very best and success. He is truly capable of doing incredible things. To me, Josh's exit and John's return is sum up as 'The Verve' song name: a bitter sweet symphony.
@happytime2781
2 жыл бұрын
I feel exactly same, song you mentioned sums it's perfectly. Josh had incredible hard task to follow Frusciante footsteps and he done it incredibly well in his own style. When the time comes he basically stepped away without complaining. Josh is a type of dude you always want to have on your side - who show's up and do what is expected from him without being a jackass, very talented but same time humble person. He was the first and obvious choice playing already back guitar on on Stadium Arcadium tour. Even with Frusciante being most influential and recognizable guitarist for RHCP Klinghoffer earned well deserved respect.
@stelioshz
Жыл бұрын
@@happytime2781 It was just a coincidence that he was playing the second guitar at stadium arcadium tour. Their second guitarist couldn't play at the show (I don't remember why), and Josh was just with the band on the tour, as a friend of them, just hanging out, and they just chose him to replace their second guitarist. I read it on an interview before some time, I don't have a link, but I am sure you will find it if you search it. Also, suddenly Josh didn't get all the respect he deserves, because he is not frusciante, even though he created great music, in my opinion, many of the songs he was part of, are of the best songs the band has written. As you both said.. it's a bitter sweet symphony. :(

Anthony is an old school hype man who just happens to have written some great songs. He has never claimed to be a “real” singer. He brought the energy to the group along with flea. I love how he doesn’t hide his musical shortcomings and his humanity. That’s why I still love the chilis 32 years after I first heard them. It’s a brotherhood thing, they made us all feel like we were a part of the band. I mean this whole thing is all about love. Wow, Flea! I’m so impressed with how heartfelt that speech was. Just awesome, and lovely to see.
Honestly all I want to say is a huge big thanks to Josh for being there during those difficult years for the band, when John once again went on his own voyage. They could disintegrate and cease to exist, but they tried and succeeded. I'm sick and tired of hearing the negative about Josh, these constant comparisons with John are not in his favor, as if he was supposed to be a copy of him or something like that. I can only imagine how difficult it was for him in that and subsequent period, given his modest and harmless nature, but he's a great fellow and a talented musician, he endured everything and contributed to the development of the band and I love it. I also love John of course with all my heart, but I also completely fell in love with the songs of rhcp with Josh. the Getaway is a simply masterpiece IMHO, I'm With You layered to taste, but in the end I loved all the songs from there too. And I will not say anything more about Klinghoffer's solo work at all, because his both albums are one of my favorite creations in recent years. I wish that everything was and will fine with him, because he's a damn talented musician and I think he's a good person. Also I wish to whole band not to lose John anymore, and to John not to lose the spark and desire to make music. Amen.

I got into these guys when BSSM came out so the lineup for me will forever be "Anthony, Flea, Chad, and John" but over the years I have loved a lot of their songs, and even a few from the newer albums have found their way into my heart. I especially like *The Getaway* , that is a TRULY under-rated album and a massive source of hits for a band so far into their career. Sick Love and Dark Necessities are killer tracks. Goodbye Angels is also killer,... amazing melody, killer pulsing outro, sick beats...just wonderful. But I'm biased on that one because I saw them live on that tour (where the colored candles were waving and pulsing over the crowd, trippy AF - see the video if you don't know what I mean) and it brings back really fond memories.... plus the girl in that video is a knockout, lol. Bands like RHCP make me feel young again. Long tenured bands like Metallica, U2, Guns N Roses, The Cure and Iron Maiden, I mean 70s and 80s bands that still tour, couldn't even DREAM of putting out an album 35 years into their careers and having THREE, not one, not two, but THREE hit songs on such an album, yet RHCP did it with ease and are still churning, dudes are all 50+ and still cool and relevant AF. Respect.
I've been a fan of The Red Hot Chili Peppers ever since they came out. My now 24 year old son loves The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
23:27 JOSH’S SMILE OH MY GOD
Flea.... My man..... Hit me right in the heart brother. Wow moved me to tears because like so many what he said hit me and I felt that in my soul. Congrats RHCP
2022, yup…they are still rippin’ it
Fantastic show. See so many legends together in the same stage!!!
RHCP is the most unique rock band i know. From performance to appearance to style of music..
I have always adored Flea, and makes me admire him even more.
Flea took tears from me A real music man a real man
I seen them during their Stadium Arcadium Tour and they were funk/rock perfection.
Flea's philosophy is an example of Arthur Schopenhauer's theory of art - that the experience of art is a momentary forgetting of self. His performance after sharing his story of playing in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and tribute to his friends including fans, gave me an increased appreciation for their music. Because, as is conveyed in the video - It's all music; with the understanding that you may not like the song that's on, and similarly - that there is an order to communication that helps us make unity in multiplicity.
This is my FAVORITE group right here. They are so hip hop to me. I'm too proud of them. 😊 ❤ 🇹🇹 🇺🇸
When someone ask me what "magnetic attraction" is for me, i just say "Red Hot Chili Peppers". No need to argue about charisma, great music, great individualities, talent and so on, it's all mixed here, in this group ...
Everybody trying to be the center of the World. Slash is in his own world.
Higher Ground with all the GOATs on the stage. So clean it gives me goosebumps
Flea is such a good human being thats why i love RHCP because of Flea..my hero!❤
My guy couldn't hold his tears from the moment he started his speech. He radiates so much passion...
Flea is the man. RHCP deserve this accolade, the music and the lyrics come from a deep and real place. Inspiring.
I get the feeling that everyone's looking at Slash like "Ok Slash, do your thang, play that bitchin' solo!" and Slash is like "Nope. Just chillin'".

@Tony Ron's sober now, he's just crazy cause he's seen it all and don't care, lovin life.
That was the most amazing yet chaotic crazy most coolest ending of an inductee band I've ever seen! Chad is a beast on drums flea is just crazy good in his style. If only theyd let Slash do a solo he would have just blown the roof off the place!!!!🤩🤩🤩
Well done James Slovak for receiving Hillel's award. Hillel's guitar sound hasn't changed
I love that Chris rock was the man to induct them into the hall of fame
Looking at 2021. This is an incredible performance. I love RHCP.
I love that Chad and Anthony are swaying together at the end of Flea's beautiful speech. 🙂
This is where to come for an intense, powerful cry that will absolutely make you feel better even if it's only for an hour.
Never been a better time than right now
Very cool that the two former drummers and Chad all played together. Awesome!
I have been in love with Flea forever
Ronnie Wood is so gleeful to be jamming with these guys. Legendary.
Higher Ground sounds the way Stevie intended it. Fantastic!!!
GOD that was EPIC!!! What a treat to see!!! That performance of “Higher Ground” was absolutely amazing!!!

And here's to the only one who thinks that crap was good!!!! What a fricking joke!!👎💯
One of the best performances of josh. Usually his tone has way more treble in it. (could be the live soundboard) but it sounds great here.
3:47 this is absolutely 100% accurate and right on! Nowadays we are seriously missing a lot of music like this, within the field of Rock and Heavy Metal music.
It's good to revisit the RHCP's induction ceremony. I saw them live in Hawaii twice when I was younger. Mother's Milk is one of my favorite all-time classics. Thank you for the music!
