After Cliff's tragic death in 1986, the band interviewed dozens of bassists to find his replacement. They involved both of Burton's parents in the decision to choose Jason Newsted. Cliff's parents were present during the announcement, and after the band broke the news to Newsted, Burton's mother, hugged him tightly and said, "You are the one. Please, be safe." That is so epic and breathtaking.

Wow, I found this surprisingly emotional! Flea's speech was amazing, so poetic. Cliff's dad was so sweet, plus James thanking his family brought a lump to my throat. I also loved that Jason was included, not only in the induction and the speeches but also the performance; I hope it was as healing for them as was for this fan. My favourite moment, though, was James thanking Lars and then the big hug! It made me so happy to see the real love after all their difficulties and pain. Love it!

If you want to inform yourself as to what live Metallica with audible bass sounds like, with Jason playing said bass, then perhaps you should watch some live Metallica instead of tarnishing Jason's legacy with this garbage. Cliff is great god rest his soul, Rob best bass player, Jason “Newkid” Newsted is just what Metallica is, with his gritty voice and his sick Headbanging it’s a shame they mistreated him
I love how everyone went crazy when Jason was about to speak 16:27
Wow, I found this surprisingly emotional! Flea's speech was amazing, so poetic. Cliff's dad was so sweet, plus James thanking his family brought a lump to my throat. I also loved that Jason was included, not only in the induction and the speeches but also the performance; I hope it was as healing for them as was for this fan. My favourite moment, though, was James thanking Lars and then the big hug! It made me so happy to see the real love after all their difficulties and pain. Love it!
