All those big level Seattle grunge cats (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains) seem to be genuinely good hearted, really don't see the ego issues with those cats like you may with some other rockers. Gene Simmons is the worst.

Dave Grohl has hundreds of millions of dollars and still seems like such a humble down to earth guy

I like that Grohl’s bartending includes sticking his hand in the drinks while he makes them.

i saw Dave perform with FF at Boston Calling music festival in May. he played 3 songs that were "His and Taylor's favorite songs to practice". he then had hawkin's son play the drums for one of their songs. audience was a wreck. one of the nicest, most open dudes.

Dave took it a bit too far in my opinion. He was purposefully trying to mess Sean up by pouring him huge quantities of extremely strong cocktails. The show isn't supposed to be a competition to "break" each other. Not a fan of Dave Grohl's behavior in this one. The constant chewing with his mouth open while was quite nasty too - you're on camera dude!

Dave. Grohl. Told you your show was a bucket list item. How are you still on this planet? How did you not ascend, immediately? What an incredible moment for you, for the whole crew.

Sean deserves so much credit for the questions he asks, but even more credit for the questions he DOESN'T ask. Not one question about Nirvana. It must get so tiring for Dave to have to dredge up his friend who died 30 years ago so often. So sad to hear about Taylor, and I hope he's able to find support from people close to him.

I love how the more alcohol Dave gets in Sean the more Sean lets the words fly!! It just proves one thing…don’t go into a drinking match with a metal head!!

I've come back to this episode so many times. Dave is so much fun to watch, and he is such a nice, easy going dude. Sean and Dave in the same room is incredible.

Not even Grohl getting Sean wasted and glazy-eyed can stop him from being the best interviewer on the interwebs. Sean's ability to maintain his signature, professional question pitch solidifies him as a stone cold killer in my book.

This is the first episode I've ever seen. I dont know this Sean guy at all, but this was enjoyable and the guy clearly is one professional bastard. This was a fun interview but NOT easy and he held the line to the end. Very impressive.

There is no shame in talking about Nirvana, it is part of his legacy. That said, what is there to say that hasn't already been said in a thousand more interviews. The only thing that I am slightly disappointed with is that the whole show didn't last longer. (and Sean didn't get to ask more of his normally excellent questions) Since it is already one of the longer episodes, I should be content with it. Certainly my favorite hot ones episode by far!

I'm legit stoked for Sean and the Hot Ones crew getting that bucket list compliment from Dave. Easily top 3 most enjoyable episodes to watch.

Going with what Dave said, there is perfection within imperfections. It's the nuances of flaws that make something beautiful.

I’ve always been a fan of Dave and everything he has done. Every time I see him being himself and having a good time is wild. I really enjoyed this one.

Dave seriously acts like he’s not one of the most iconic musicians in the history ever. Love it

I agree!!! A lot of artists have that "air" even if they are down to earth. Dave just isn't that guy. He appears to have never let fame catch up to him. Even in reading his book, he is still amazed when he meets people (not realizing he is far more famous), he's like a kid in that respect. You just can't top that.

Wow! I remember watching this last year and seeing Dave so fun and joyful. It breaks my heart to know that his heart broke not too long after. I know all is going well now, but my heart still hurts for the loss of Taylor and his Mother. Anyway.. I love anything spicy!

This is definitely the most fun ive seen Sean have in an interview

Came in, got the host plastered drunk, all the while being totally down to earth and a real dude. Goddamn LEGEND

Probably the best episode. Dave is one of the most down to earth ppl. Read his book and it’s absolutely amazing. Highly recommend.

by far the coolest chillest guest on this show.

I know Sean would never pick a favorite episode, but you can’t help but recognize just how fun he’s having with Dave

Grohl did a hell of a job getting under Sean's persona, this was a very human interaction. The man exudes charm and authenticity

I wonder how Sean feels after having blown up so much. It must be crazy to think that one of the biggest legends in rock history comes home from practice, takes a tablespoon of your hot sauce, and then watches your internet show. Sean Evans is one of the best interviewers I have ever seen

dave is one of the reasons why i'm a drummer, he's so cool! i learned to play the fill at the beginning of smells like teen spirit and it's so dependable

I think what made this episode so cool, is that there are just two people admiring each others work and just having fun. Dave killed it and made it look like mild ones.

This is my favorite episode so far. Watching Dave become progressively more unhinged, Sean progressively get hammered, and everyone in studio laughing over and over is great. Love it.

This honestly may be the best episode ever. Grohl was an absolute stone cold killer to those wings while being one of the most jovial, kind, and interesting guests I have ever seen. Sean being a little drunk too added a fantastic dynamic as well.

In just about every way you can measure whether or not the guest was successful... this was one of (if not THE) best episode(s) they've ever recorded.

dave got sean tuned up.. and he's powering through the wings..awesome..

Not only do I feel like Dave is just a genuinely nice guy, but he IS Rock N Roll to the core. Doing shots with Dave and being told that being on Hot Ones is on his bucket list? Sean, I think this may be the best episode yet.

I'm in the Ramsey and Grohl are on another level corner.

Hands down one of the best episodes that I've ever seen. Dave is a legend.

The secret to Dave Grohl's charm is that he is genuinely excited to meet people and do things. He is passionate about whomever and whatever he champions. And he is a working musician who puts in the hours and the sweat because he's in it for the music and the ideas and not the accoutrements.

Everytime he calls a shot, it just makes me happy

Dave clearly had a plan. He knew that sean’s signature means of getting his guests unguarded and loosey-goosey by setting their mouth’s on fire was gonna do it’s thing. He knew there was no avoiding it, it was gonna happen, he just had to deal with it. So he decided to bring whiskey and coke to do the exact same thing to sean right back.

His take on overproducing is still some of the coolest knowledge. I didn’t realize how much I like the raw sound of imperfection rather than overproduction
