Okay, they will never top this. Not only is Blaine a lover of wings, unimpressed by the hottest of peppers (unless he palmed that last one) and a terrific magician, but he also comes across as genuine, engaging and just plain fun. The conversation was terrific. I not only enjoyed it, I learned some stuff. Bravo and congrats to everyone who worked on this.

The real magic trick was making it seem like Sean was the newbie and guest at hot ones. David wasn't even shook from da bomb. And after all that , Sean's face after eating that pepper compared to David. What a true showman

Dude, David Blaine is an animal. Didn't even phase him at the end. On a side note, I've never seen David smiling or so happy before. This was awesome.

Wow this is really a special episode. It's rare that Sean is more affected than the guest and this time he was totally swept away!

It was amazing to see Sean going for the milk and David just laughing, kind of what you would expect from a legend. He made it all look like peanuts … one of my fav episodes.

Dude found a way to love pain. It's like his brain translates translate pain into "interesting", so he can approach it with curiosity rather than dread. That's the real magic.

This episde really reminds of the Tony Hawk one chip challenge tbh. Both can suffer through immense pain but don't show it cause they've endured it or mentally prepared. Amazing interview either way :)

@@claytheist6736 Pain at the foundational level is a physical response. Nerve endings send signals to your brain that they have been activated by certain stimuli. But your reaction to/processing of pain is entirely emotional. If everyone can ignore pain to a certain individual level then the idea that some people can ignore pain to an extreme level, particularly if they train to do so, is entirely plausible. As with all feats of rationality overcoming emotion, preparation is key. Mr. Blaine is a master of the art in this respect.

Have you seen the Buddhist monk who doused himself with gasoline and blaze himself to death as a form of protest? It was also used as an album cover of the band rage against the machine. David might not mention it because maybe that wasn't his image he's trying to portray but he might have transcended Human suffering. There was also an interview footage somewhere here in youtube together with his Mentor Paul Harris that they've comeup with the "street magic tv special" when they were both on "Shrooms" and was originally called the concept of that TV Special as "The Urban Shaman"

The dude broke the world record for holding your breath underwater and did it for 17 minutes. This was before attempting it after staying under water for 7 days. He was determined to break the world record when he failed it after the 7 day trick BY LITERALLY DROWNING. Only death can stop him… literally.

I think this is one of my favorite episodes. Sean was in the hot seat without even realizing it.

I have many favorites but this one with David is my top one! He’s not only a sweetheart and respectful but his mental control to pain is amazing.

Sean’s heat tolerance is seemingly unmatched and David Blain somehow has the ability to make it look like Sean has never done this before

Cant say I've watched loads of David's interviews but on the run up to his Ascension stunt I watched his Joe Rogan podcast, he's great on that too, a similar vibe to this I guess - definitely worth a watch.

Just found this episode. This is my favorite thus far. Love so many episodes but David is such a genuine happy and nice guy, he made it a great interview.

This is my third watch of this episode today - Everything is just spot-on perfect; from Sean's questions to his reactions, to the Master David Blaine's responses and his excitement; overall one of the best episodes with a Magic Trick to boot! Well done Hot Ones team - you guys are all incredible!

This was one of the top all time episodes ever. David Blaine seemed so wholesome and down to Earth, just a pleasure to watch. Also, he took those wings down like a champ.

It's fascinating, every time I hear a David Blane interview he makes it sound like everyone can do it if he just trains enough, sometimes I'm not sure if he is aware that he is actually special. I swear, unless there is some absolute voodoo thing somewhere that I don't know about, I could train mind over body until I collapse and I could never do the things he does.

I’ve seen multiple interviews of him but I’ve never really seen him so alive and joyful. I love to see it!

This mans brain power, control, perseverance, and discipline is in the top 5 people that have ever lived. He is spectacular. If the world had the peace of mind and control he does, the world would be so much better. He can talk his self out of cancer. Period.

David Blaine has monk-like pain tolerance and focus, so incredible and special to see. He's an extremely wholesome person as well, always wants to share laughter and magic with everyone around him. I get so jealous of anyone getting to have a conversation or get to experience his magic up-close. He's absolutely a role model to humankind. Fantastic first guest of the season!!!!

Honestly it’s mental strength. You can see he felt it was very hot, but he’s just so tuned In to his mental, that he can perform as if it was nothing. I think anyway lol - he’s a legend none the less

There is never a time as long as I can remember I haven’t absolutely loved watching David Blaine just do what does. You knew after the first few he wasn’t going to give an extreme reaction in front of everyone, especially when they offered him the sundae you knew he wasn’t going to take it. As long as a camera is on he is in magic man mode. He literally lives his act. And it is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.

I love that your show has become a celebrity bucket list event... I have been watching this show since the beginning and love how it has evolved

The level of control David has over his own body is truly insane. He really is a magician

i grew up watching david blaine street magic. i remember we have dvd that my dad brought. my older brother and i will always watch it bc we love him so much and we enjoy watching him do magic. love seeing him here!

Very nostalgic seeing an old clip from his magic show on tv. I used to watch this on AXN channel. Brings back a lot of memories as a kid. What a legend David is.

This honestly might be the best episode you guys have done. David tries Da Bomb and is probably the first guest to ever say "that's good" and it throws Sean off his game to the point he has to gargle some milk, then he goes for the Carolina Reaper and just crushes it like a champ, nevermind the crazy magic trick. Bravo!

I love after he said that Sean went like, well.... he was like uh hold on i wouldn't say THATS why we still have Da Bomb haha i got it at buckees not knowing what it was and put it all over a breakfast burrito. Eyes were crying, nose was running down my face, had to stop put it in park and get bottled water from the trunk, chugged like 3 bottles cars honking at me.... wife knew what it was and didnt tell me. She thought it was funny, still havent gotten her back. A heads up would have been nice

Always gotta respect the celebrities who keep themselves humble and appear to have an almost kid-like joyfulness and excitement to them. Puts things into perspective that there's always so much joy to find in life and the journey is half (if not more) the fun of it all.

It's great to see David Blaine drop his enigmatic persona and just be open and happy. Good stuff.

This may be the most I've ever seen Sean thrown off his game. Not in a bad way, but in like a pure reverent way. He was in awe of how David took everything. And when DB did the magic trick, it was like we got to watch what Sean was like as a kid...his smile was so genuine. Bravo for the first guest!!

@@Amadeus2054 I think I have it figured out. The card was pre-selected by David. He had 2 other cards like it already torn the exact same way and put into the peppers, probably through the stem that was glued back on. David used mind tricks to have Sean pick that card by having it already presented out then asked back and forth to make it seem like Sean actually picked the card. The card was already pre-torn or perforated to have that shape. David actually ate the card then had both peppers with a backup card. That is why it took David longer to chew his pepper because it had part of a card in it too. The trick comes from the illusion of choice that Sean thought he had when picking cards.

I’m 50 and I still think David Blaine is the best a most lovable person I know. His ora is genuinely contagious.

I like how David Blaine just being himself and having a good time makes everyone else happy. Speaks volumes about him

@@TheCarbunkleofTruth He famously went on a morning show in England and literally didn't speak the entire time - just showed a tattoo on his hand for like 10 minutes straight

I love how it seems like David Blaine just stoically savors every experience, even having his mouth on fire it seems like he's just kind of feeling the experience rather than being overwhelmed by it. Dude's such an insane performer.

Wow, this one was really great, I think out of all the Hot Ones I've seen so far, I've never been more pumped for the guest enjoying the wings so much!

One of a few episodes which I was glued on from beginning to end.

David is by far the best guess they have ever had on the show, you can just tell he loved this experience just as much as Shawn did

I couldn’t stop laughing this whole episode. David calmly describing eating a Carolina reaper as amazing while Sean coughs a lung up. One of the funniest moments I’ve seen hahahah

This is the best one I've seen so far, not just by having an interesting guest and great questions that a normal show has. -- Spoiler alert -- David is also defying the hotness without seemingly any difficulty. He is an anomoly for sure and it was a treat to have him on, being so relaxed and intriqueing at the same time.

I've seen every episode. This is by far my favorite. Dude, what a legend. And Blaine was pretty good, too. This was awesome. He's a beast.

This quickly became my all time favorite episode, David's joy and positive energy is so obvious and contagious.

Blaine just seems like a normal nice fella. I loved how he talked about doing tricks for his mom and her friends. So genuine. I'm sure she was so incredibly proud of him.

This is the episode that wins my subscription!!! Everything was the best!!!!

The childlike joy on Sean’s face at the end was one of the best moments in Hot Ones history.

Wow! David Blaine is insane! Best interview I’ve watched. Dude did not even touched the water. The tolerance he has is out of this world.

When DB performs, he's so subdued and calm. It's so refreshing to see him excited and energetic.

What a great season premier. David Blaine is a class act and so humble. Never a dull moment. Sean Evans is the best and I found his questions to be on another level.

Dude the fact that David didn't even flinch a little bit after eating the reaper is beyond impressive. Truly a master of magic and mind over matter. Love him. Great episode.

David Blain literally OWNED this episode Felt like He was the Host and Sean was the guest XD

Everything David does makes me smile! Love this man.

The fact that Sean had to take a sip of milk before Blaine show how resilient David Blaine is

Such an amazing man. There's so much more him than "just magic". The level of endurance and will power alone he has proven over and over again, is worlds beyond what other people are capable of. Thank you so much for all the entertaining things you do, no matter what it is, I enjoy it dearly!

As someone who has only ever seen David in "Performance mode" on specials and clips, I was pleasantly surprised at how happy and excited he was throughout this interview. Showed a very different side to him and made me smile the entire time. What a great season opener guest.

David is in performance mode 24/7. That's what makes him such a brilliant man. He's always so self aware. He has a full Joe Rogan podcast available to listen to. I highly recommend.

automatically in my top 3 episodes ever, David is such a genuine guy. Just seeing him enjoy himself was the best and the amount of mental control to tolerate pain he has is unreal

I’ve watched this series for years and this was one of the most wholesome episodes. I do NOT like magic at all… but this interview was awesome and David Blaine seems like such a kind, genuine person. A he sailed thru Da Bomb like nothing!!!

What an amazing format, really appreciate the work that was involved in making this video for us to enjoy. Sean I am a Subscriber now, thank you very much.

I love how David always just stares at you after he produces the trick. Just stares and watches you react.

Getting a reaction is his favorite part. You get to watch people become kids again. He touched on that a bit in the anecdote about practicing for his mother; he didn't say he wanted to see what he could do, instead it was about what he could amaze her with next.

David was the best guest yet, makes me sad for the people we've lost who I know would've been so entertaining on here, I think had Robin Williams been here today, He would've loved this and been a guest and made us die with laughter at his experience and quips. We need more Hot Ones!

David Blaine is someone that would have been elite in anything he chose, he's just powerful.

David Blaine really has that laid back super chill vibe while at the same time he is really passionate about his craft and stories. Such a great personality.

Easily my favorite guest. Calm, cool, collected. No need for profanity. What a classy guy.

I feel like any episode I watch lately, the guest is happy about how good the questions are. And they're not wrong to point it out.

Sean is human!!! One of the first times Sean took a drink before the guest. This is the perfect episode 1 for the season, great job.
