Okay so I get her daughter being interested in tattooing, it’s what her mom does. But you don’t need to let an eleven year old scar other peoples skin….. you can give her drawing assignments. You can ask her to do the three elements and create her own drawing and stimulate her artistic muscle if you will. Those are ways you can support a literal child in achieving her dreams of one day becoming a tattoo artist Edit because people give the same point over and over again : no it would not be a good idea to give her fake skin, chicken, citrus fruit or any other replacement for live human skin to tattoo on. Why not? Because it’s still an ELEVEN year old handling needles. It is still a biohazard. There is still the possibility for her to accidentally stick herself with the needles. Don’t give tattoo machines to kids. It’s never a good idea. It’s not safe. Maybe when she’s 16 it’s a different story. But for right now, she can stick to drawings. I’ve seen one commenter who said something about a practice tattoo machine that’s not actually moving needles but something else? Ive never heard of those, but if it’s without needles that could be a perfect replacement for her to practice with.

@@airiellemcdeavitt most tattoo artists recommend against this as learning by yourself and not under the direct guidance of a licensed tattoo artist can give you improper practices that are harder to program out than the right practices would be to program in. Don’t be surprised if you go to apply for apprenticeships and get denied on this fact. It’ll take them more time to reteach you hence making you not worth the time. I’m just assuming your parents aren’t tattoo artists that is lol. Personally I recommend finding a shop and asking to overshadow them on the weekends/your free time. Every tattoo artist I’ve ever met pushes for their apprentice to just draw draw draw draw for quite awhile before they pick up a gun. Maybe I’m just old school (26) but I’d focus more on your art and less on the machinery. Learning to use the gun is such a small percentage of what’s needed compared to expanding your art skills.

You did a great job with this. My biggest criticism of her is that she preys on lower income people who think they can’t afford quality work. She accepts “donations” for tattoos but has very openly encouraged people to use their government assistance money to buy food and trade with her for tattoo work. That’s scummy because if those people got caught, they would lose assistance and children would literally go hungry. I also criticize that she accepts all of these donations and trades and I’m positive it’s all tax evasion because seeing how she operates, I’m sure she doesn’t claim the value and pay taxes on it. She’s bringing in thousands on bartered goods, groceries, cell phones, designer bags etc and little cash so she can claim she makes very little and not paying taxes. I love bartering but when doing it at the level she does… it needs to be taxed. Can she show receipts of donations to non-profit organizations? Is she a registered 503c? Is she checking that traded groceries we’re not purchased through state assistance programs like EBT/WIC? I very much doubt it.

I understand she’s doing a bad thing but the way you worded this really fucking sucks. it isn’t people on benefit’s fault the government is fucked up and seemingly gets off on limiting low-income and disabled peoples’ freedoms. the underground trading system exists to fix a problem that no one seems to care enough to fix.

@@MeidoGhoul I don’t understand how what I said is a hot take? People in poverty need that aid and she is encouraging them to commit fraud and possibly lose the assistance. Some of those people might not even realize that could happen. It’s the way the system is, regardless of what I think. We know the US loves to go after the poor more than anyone. Especially in a state like Texas. So I’m worried people will end up getting in trouble but she won’t care at that point because she got her payment. She claims she’s tattooing for Christ but preying on the poor and not caring about what damage it might potentially cause them is not very Christ-like. I just think people should be very aware of the risks of buying food with EBT and trading it for tattoo work. One wrong person gets that info and reports you and you lose it all. Lauren's comment about healthcare is so right. If you can't afford a tattoo, the bill for an infection will likely ruin you. I was visiting the states recently, I'm disabled so while my issue was minor for anyone else I had to go to the ER during my stay in California. I saw a doctor at triage for less than 10 mins and she prescribed treatment for me (a controlled substance I couldn't get anywhere else) I was in and out fast. So far the bill so being discharged has been $500, the bill for seeing a doctor for less than 10 mins is $570. Its all being sorted by my travel insurance so I don't know if anything more has been charged but imagine how much antibiotics and a 3 night stay would be! (That's how long I was in last year with cellulitis infection of my face, which is an infection that a new tattoo can also get).

The idea of washing a new tattoo with fairy liquid makes me want to die
@lovelyweeburd
4 ай бұрын
Fairy liquid is bad enough, but Dawn?!? I recently bought (for 20 bloody £) an imported bottle of the blue Dawn (American) washing up liquid. It's such a powerful detergent, it kills fleas (my new kitten brought fleas into my home), and I use a tiny squirt of the Dawn soap in my machine washes along with my usual clothes detergent to ensure I'm *definitely* killing and getting rid of any, as well as to handwash fabrics that can't be washed at/above 40 degrees celsius. You can also set up flea-killing traps using just a bowl of water, Dawn, and a light. Dawn dish soap is SO strong it breaks through a flea's hard exoskeleton, and messes up water surface tension... so it kills fleas by breaking through their tough outer shell, and causing them to drown. ..........Now let's think about what that harder-than-skin-chewing and drying detergent would do to a fresh tattoo... It's absolutely *horrifying* 😱🤯

You should do a video on Anthony Zamora. He tattooed me whenever I was 17, meaning that I was a minor, and he pressured me to get a different color and placement than what I wanted for my tattoo and refused to do it unless I did what he wanted, he completely screwed up the design which is a very simple hatchet man with no details but the color ended up really scarred up and gross and the outline is missing spots due to blowouts and scarring, and the entire time that he was doing my tattoo he was sexually harassing my mom. He kept telling my mother that she needed to take her shirt off and either get nipple piercings or let him touch up her chest tattoo. He also slapped my tattoo whenever it was done and he covered it in regular Reynolds plastic wrap and told me to keep the plastic wrap on for over 24 hours which I question because at the time I was a piercing apprentice and I knew that that was NOT what you were supposed to do, but he screamed at me. So I agreed. I got a really bad infection from that tattoo, but I was really lucky because a couple months later my friend went back to 717 tattoo and got tattooed by him and he got hepatitis c. My brain started screaming when she started that "freehand feather" and it hasn't stopped Edit: also imo if someone is doing both piercings and tattoos, it's because they're not skilled enough at either one to fill up their schedule with people who want appointments. Are they not good to go to or maybe is it just about where you are and what not? I'm obsessed with her, I love her bad work and how consistent her low quality is and how everybody makes duets and drags the shaky line work, stolen art, blow outs. I just eat it up! I love finding new tattoo artist via the reviews of her pieces. The way all the clients have very similar tattoos. She's like... whatever the opposite of an inkmaster is.

Oh my gods, I had a nightmare recently where I got a tattoo and the artist looked like Ariel. The tattoo was a wonky ass mermaid, huge and teal coloured. Woke up and was so relieved it was just a dream. I have never heard of this woman before and don't have tiktok so this is funky as hell. Maybe I saw her on a thumbnail somewhere. Also I love how your eyeshadow and hair are colour coordinated, these tones suit you well.
My stomach just dropped when it showed the little girl tattooing. Thats crazy! You don't let babies around sharps! Not in nursing, not in tattooing, not in anything! What if she pricked herself? You never know what illnesses the clients have, even clients might not know! I mean, its dangerous for the clients health too, but the child! What about the child???

Even all of that aside, personally I wouldn't trust a 12 year old to deliver quality needlework anyway.
Just want to say - the good glitter artist you mentioned (Amanda Graves) did my first tattoo in 2019. She’s super sweet and although mine isn’t a glitter tattoo (she wasn’t doing that style yet) it’s held up beautifully and I’m definitely looking to make the drive for another tattoo by her because she’s so talented. When you mentioned her I got so excited
Let alone the disgusting lack of hygiene, I couldn't imagine having an 11 year old and leaving them alone with ANY stranger. Even a client, like... Sometimes it's good to be paranoid, she could have been kidnapped.

right like she could've been kidnapped, robbed, assaulted, etc any number of things...
So around 19:30 Chinchilladas mentioned “Unlearning her 11 Year Old” which one might interpret as Unschooling, which is a VERY controversial education path (to but it nicely). So you mean to tell me that on top of all this, there’s a possibility that the eleven year old being forced to do body modification work for her mother might also NOT BE GOING TO ANY SORT OF SCHOOL?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
Situations like this always make me wonder, if she’s okay with showing things like leaving her daughter alone with a strange adult while she tattoos them on a live stream what goes on when they’re not being recorded? I’m not necessarily speaking about physical abuse or anything like that, but like what other laws are being broken behind the scenes, how else are people being endangered off camera, etc.

My mom, cousin and I scheduled to get blindfold tattoos at her shop a while back. Online you could schedule until like 2am. We scheduled for around like 11pm I believe for three blindfold tattoos with various artist. The website let us book it and put our deposits down. Once we got to the shop we were told they were closed and didn’t know why the website let us schedule tattoos at all. They then weren’t planning on refunding us for something that wasn’t even our fault. About a week later we were finally able to get in contact with one of the girls from her shop who ended up doing all of our tattoos for us. She did an amazing job but the whole process to even be able to go get the service we paid for was very frustrating.
How in the absolute world is this woman still in business!?!?!? O.o I literally don’t get it…

the biggest kick about ariel letting her kid tattoo is that the 11 year old does better than the 11 year tattoo artist
I’m so glad to finally see people on other platforms finally talking about her! I commented on her videos once and she really said to me “I know your just jealous of my work” like my guy no, no one is jealous of your work 😭
I would say we should all come for America's Healthcare system! The people deserve better! Health is SO important.
I live in this area and I've actually been in her shop. I got a quote for a forearm tattoo(I'm very tiny, think 6-7 inches long and 2-3 inches wide), for 500 freaking dollars. Not far from her shop is a place called Royal 1, which I'd been to before. 200 for the same tattoo, clean station, talented artists that have been there for years. I recommend Jason and Taylor in particular, great guys, incredible artists.
Seriously thank you so much!! I've been talking about her work for a year now after attacking a mutual. You did a beautiful job covering this! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 🥺💖

I saw a video of the 11 year old tattoo artist on Facebook and every single comment was praising her and saying they'd get work done by her. It shouldn't matter if her mom owns the shop. If she's not old enough to get them, she shouldn't be doing them.
In my opinion I think when it comes to tats and anything that physically alters the aesthetic of the body (tattoos are salvageable and (for many times the price) is removable - it’s much more discomfort getting it fractionated off) you can judge the art absolutely how it looks. There’s no room for the artist’s “effort or passion” nah nah- *tattoos go onto people not paper* and no one should ever defend the artist while disregarding the one physically affected.
Something about having the clients sit down in front of the camera and say their name and what they want in a low-lighted room gave me casting couch vibes, ngl. It’s like she wants them to assure the viewers that they’re not there against their will. 😂

I once had my hair over-absorb toner and my hair colourist told me to wash with dish soap until it faded to my desired colour because *dish soap is one of the harshest household soaps*. You generally don't need specialty soap for a tattoo if you have dye- and scent-free soap at home but you should definitely NOT use dish soap.

This reminded me of a party that my boyfriend wanted us to go to, where the host decided it was a great idea to hire a tattoo artist so she could tattoo everyone. Alcohol was involved, obviously... and get this, the artist was just starting her career. She didn't have experience. I told my boyfriend how awful that idea was. He went anyway, but fortunately, he decided not to get a tattoo. He then told me all of his friends' tattoos turned out awful. They didn't get anything too complicated, but still. Also, we're all biologists (except for the tattoo artist). Some of his friends have PhDs... I don't understand how they thought it was a genius idea.

its also funny when someone takes something that the religious have traditionally hated, appropriate it, and then turn it into their own and use it to be a traditional bigot to everything but the thing the appropriated.
With clients that support her, I think it's cognitive dissonance. When you spend money on something or are vocally supportive or something or both - you tend to completely ignore any evidence that would suggest that you're wrong. And people get super defensive about their tattoos because they didn't just spend money on it, it's on their body.
not her shop being down the street from where I get my tattoos from💀
She pierced my industrial and not only did it on a poor placement but used cheap jewelry. As soon as it went through I instantly started bIeeding everywhere but I didn't think anything of it because I have a high pain tolerance and it didn't hurt. The swelling was so bad I was told to take it out but by three experienced piercers. I didn't listen for two weeks but when I did the swelling instantly went away. A few months later I got it redone and they marked it, it didn't bleed, didn't swell and healed fine. I'd also like to add that when I walked in her daughter was giving a tattoo when I walked in to the artist that gave me my gumball tattoo that I got right before I got my piercing. Ariel was not there when I got to the shop.
Watched this video while putting aquaphor on my latest tattoo I got 2 days ago. I’m always so grateful when an artist takes the time to ensure my safety and the cleanliness of their environment, if you ever feel even a little bit off about your artist, don’t go through with the tattoo. I promise you it won’t be worth it.
I'm alarmed enough when it comes to more experienced retail workers leaving young, new hires alone, and retail causes significantly fewer physical body changes than tattooing does.
I can't believe you're talking about her. I was introduced to her because she's my best friends tattoo artist. Her work in person looks even worse, and she's just so shady in general.

Yup, I feel like if you can remember a client's name, you can remember their pronouns. Might slip up a couple of times but a respectful person wouldn't keep calling Sally a Susan on purpose or because they're just not interested in remembering 🙄
This artist, whatever their name is needs to be shut down forever. Allowing their 11 year old daughter to tattoo someone and then leave the shop. WTF is wrong with them. Rush tattooing is very dangerous. Them telling you to use Dawn dishsoap is dangerous as hell. I'm not even a tattoo artist, and I know that. I went into a tattoo shop to get a tattoo, and I happen to see someone without gloves. I walked out and never went back. Took me until 2021 to find an artist I could trust.
Oh my god. As soon as I saw that the 11 year old is TATTOOING in the shop ALONE, just a whole list of EVERYTHING that could have gone wrong there. I could never.
Duuuuuude, I'm sure that most people would be ok with pronoun slip ups, especially from people who they barely know, like I can literally call you by the entirely wrong name the first 5 times we meet, but any sane person follows up their mistake with an apology, what kind of numpty doubles down??
i’m kinda here for the concept of getting a tattoo blindfolded and the artist only has a few prompts from you. i’d just want a much better artist and much cleaner and safer environment for it 😂 best glitter style i’ve seen was laura anunnaki stuff. love her work. dream artist to get work from someday. btw, i loved your whole aesthetic! nails, hair, tats, makeup - you look so cool!!
