TAMRON 35MM F/1.4 - BURNING HYPE LENS REVIEW
One time I saw where a Tamron rep said a lot of their product doesn't get enough advertising and hype, so I tried to make this review as hype as possible without just screaming in (bad) Japanese the entire time. Hope you enjoy.
To preemptively answer some questions although some are answered in the video:
- I am an enthusiast and not a professional. This is not a professional review.
- I don't have an extra $1600+ sitting around to get the Nikon 35mm, and since I chose the Tamron, I didn't really have incentive to get the Sigma. I could have rented it, but then I figured pros would be releasing their own videos with side-by-sides.
- All pics taken with a Nikon D850
- Most of this is just intended to be informative and fun. This is not a hardcore technical review and it's just my experiences with the lens and some reviews of the RAW files (as best you can get on KZread). I own 3 other Tamrons (all G2s: 15-30, 24-70, and 70-200) at this point and I've been very satisfied with them if for no other reason than the price-to-performance ratio when weighed against the first party lenses.
- Lightroom captures were done with OBS. Filming was done with my old Canon T5i using 50mm / 24mm
-None of this is monetized and it won't be

this is the best 35mm auto focus lens ever made. You just don't know enough to realize it.
Outstanding & just the info I needed
Thanks I really liked the video. And I loved the overlord music it was a nice surprise
I liked the review. As far as the music goes, I was thinking it was a radio interfering with my wife connection. It reminded me of the good old days, long before computer when there were no cell phones or computers and all we did was listen to radios. Transistor radios if we could afford one. We would surf the dial. We might find something we liked but another station would bleed faintly into the broadcast. This is what I thought was happening and was puzzled as how it could be. Then I thought, maybe I have two KZread videos playing at the same time. Then I realized the music must have been playing in the background while you were making a very good presentation about the 35mm lens. At the end, I saw the music was intentional. The music was nice, but it was vocal music. It was very busy and completed with what you were saying. You need more confidence in what you have to say and not present a choice to the listener as to what he will listen to, the great music or your story. I a video like this, the music should be instrumental and it should be unnoticeable. It sound set a mood the supports what you feel about the lens and support your message and not compete with it. I liked your message, the graphics and honesty. Good job!
Thanks for posting. I'm also wondering if the Tamron 35mm 1.4 gives 90% of the performance of a 1st party lens for ~50% of the price. Thanks for comparing corner sharpness and looking for CA. I tried the 35mm 1.8 VC but the AF was too slow for me; this one seems faster. Since I'm still using a DSLR, Tamron seems to perform better in terms of AF consistency and accuracy compared to the Sigma. We'll see which 3rd party fast 35mm resolves best.
Appreciate the video. Lens is on my list.
waht do u think of the 35 comparing to sigma's 35?
shouts out for the music. started watching kabuto recently :)
Can’t wait to pick this lens up! It will live on my D850.
Liked just for the intro alone
what kind of camera & lens do you recommend for artistic pictures of my feet
Have it on my D850. Super lens . Only drawback : weight and as such not really a walkaround or travel lens.
Please make more burning hype camera videos, thx
What about the Sigma 40mm 1.4 Art?
it is not on sale yet so where you bought it? i think someone gave it to you
Tamron has 5 factories worldwide. There is no qualitative difference, where Tamron is concerned, if a lens is made in Japan or China or Vietnam or anywhere else.
