Taiwan: A U.S. Pawn in Containing China

For more:
#china #taiwan #usa #us
The documentary "Taiwan: A U.S. Pawn in Containing China", explores a vast trove of historical information and gathers the insights of first-hand witnesses to events. Experts, such as former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, reveal to a global audience the various points of contention that have arisen between China and the U.S. over the Taiwan question at different periods in recent history. The narrative spans the years from 1945 to 2023. In recounting a succession of historical events, it explains China's consistent position on the Taiwan question, contrasting it with the U.S.'s repeated inconsistency, revealed in actions such as violating the principles of the three Joint Communiques signed with China and supporting the forces of "Taiwan independence". Ultimately, the documentary reveals how deluded the U.S. is in attempting to use Taiwan as a pawn in containing China.

You probably would be begging to have this relative peace we have now vs a world where US didn't intervene. Remember peace is not free and there are many hostile forces especially dictators who have destroyed this peace from time to time. Read the history and you will know how much misery was in the world prior to WWII. Look at Ukraine as an example.

Because it is in the *interest* of the US govt to keep Taiwan as independent (and pro-US) country. As simple as that. Just like why China (PRC) think it has "the right" to support Russia during current conflict in Ukraine: Because it is in the Chinese interest to do so. If you want to know the geopolitical reason from military perspective, Google "First Island Chain strategy". If you want to know the socio-economic reason, Google "Taiwan's importance to American and global supply chain". If you want to know why China is supporting Russia in Ukraine, Google "Sino-Russian common interest in Eastern Europe".

Americans are too brainwashed by anti-communist and anti-china propaganda unfortunately. I think many Americans will click off after just reading = "CGTN is funded in whole or in part by the Chinese government" because they have been told that anything by communist governments is bad and unreliable, but government funded Western news (PBS, NPR, Reuters, BBC, DW, etc.) is totally neutral and objective. Also most social media platforms that Americans use are US-capitalist owned and even Tiktok has a bunch of former pro-NATO officials working it sooo it's kinda hard for things like this to become viral, especially with the US government increasingly trying to push red-scare propaganda down people's throats.

China, no matter how it fancies calling itself, does not enjoy the sovereignty of Taiwan. Taiwan has not been part of China. Taiwan is not separated from China. Taiwan used to be part of Japan. Taiwan is currently separated from Japan. China has no legal claim to Taiwan. Which foreign power currently carries sway over Taiwan’s present and future? A checklist: - Which foreign power single-handedly raped Japan? - Which foreign power stole the Japanese island of Formosa from Japan? - Which foreign power pretended to transfer Taiwan from Japan to China? - Which foreign power transported Chinese troops from China to the Japanese island of Taiwan? - Which foreign power reneged on its pledge to transfer Taiwan from Japan to China? - Which foreign power thrashed out with allies, wrote down and edited draft after draft the text of the San Francisco Peace Treaty until the final version included Articles 2(b), 4(a) and 23(a) regarding Taiwan's international status after World War II ? - Which foreign power spent US$1.4 billion to rebuild Taiwan after World War II? - Which foreign power condoned the continued rule of an exiled Chinese dictatorship on non-Chinese Taiwan? - Which foreign power eventually forced the dissolution of said Chinese dictatorship? - Which foreign power refers to Taiwan as Taiwan under its domestic law? - Which foreign power always reminds the Chinese on both sides of the Taiwan Strait that they do not enjoy Taiwan's sovereignty and have no legal claim to Taiwan's sovereignty? - Which foreign power has always upheld Taiwan's security and peace in the strait? - Which foreign power enjoys unfettered access to and influence over the President of the governing authorities in Taipei? - Which foreign power says that Taiwan is not currently a sovereign country ? - Which foreign power is often blamed for selling Taiwan out to China? - If that foreign power is believed to be able to sell Taiwan out to China, what does that say of the clout such foreign power carries over the Taiwan issue? - Which foreign power do you think best suited to take the lead in recognizing Taiwan's independence? - Once you have answered the questions listed above, what conclusion do you draw? I'll leave it to you to figure out the answer for yourself. Do you believe the Chinese unable to figure out for themselves the conclusion you and I have been able to reach? Do you really believe the Chinese so daft as attempting to invade militarily such Taiwan?

I firmly believe that the government should serve as a public servant, prioritizing transparency within information platforms. In instances where administrators perpetuate hierarchical divisions, centralization, and misguided policies, citizens possess the right to use their voting power to remove them from office and elect more suitable alternatives. Only when such a moment arrives can we shift our focus to other discussions. Otherwise, we are witnessing a situation where those with concentrated power are pursuing their own interests, leaving little room for meaningful dialogue.🍵

Finally CGTN is doing something what they should do , the Anti China fake/distorted propaganda happens every second in the west , I remember very clear when trump visited China, while CNN release hate towards China, the whole day criticized trump didn’t focus on “south China sea “ , at the same time, China national TV focus on “friendship, cooperation, communication “ . Two different planet , this led to ordinary Chinese ignorance and naive, supposed the whole world promotes peaceful like China has been promoting. Taiwan from a KMT one party system Changed into two party fight each other since 1987 under the USA pressure , output to Taiwan social society all kinds of ideologies, such as “ democracy, freedom, freedom of speech , the aim of democracy is divided between mainland China and Taiwan province, put a lot of money to Taiwan local media to brainwash the people in Taiwan against mainland China, today Taiwan textbooks teach the kids , Taiwan is a country instead of a province of China, but the law in Taiwan still “ republic of China “ , Taiwan young generations are confused their Chinese identity , but they still going to work in mainland China because no opportunity in Taiwan province, another ridiculous example is USA trying to push the LGBT agenda to Taiwan young generations called “universal values “ for dividing people between mainland China and Taiwan, named “different values “ when mainland China never bothered LGBT groups, the only difference is gay marriage is not lawful because nobody care about it.

Consequences of Pacific war between China and a coalition of the United States, Japan, and South Korea would be devastating for both side. A massive loss of human lives, economic resources, and environmental assets. A war between China and the US-led coalition would likely involve nuclear weapons, cyberattacks, missile strikes, naval battles, and ground operations. According to a 2015 report by the RAND Corporation, a war between China and the US could result in millions of casualties, trillions of dollars in economic losses, and severe environmental damage. A disruption of global trade, security, and stability. A war in the Pacific would affect the vital sea lanes and air routes that connect Asia with the rest of the world. It would also threaten the security and sovereignty of many countries in the region, such as Taiwan, Australia, India, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Moreover, it would undermine the international order and institutions that have been established to prevent and resolve conflicts peacefully. A shift in the balance of power and influence in the world. A war in the Pacific would have significant implications for the future of global leadership and cooperation. Depending on the outcome of the war, China or the US-led coalition could emerge as the dominant power in the region and beyond. Alternatively, both sides could suffer a decline in their power and prestige, creating a power vacuum that could be filled by other actors or forces.

The good news for Beijing is that when the peaceful reunification takes place, all the weapons the US sold to the Taiwan province immediately become the property of Beijing! My guess is that Beijing would keep the weapons in Taiwan to help Taiwan provide Chinese defense against any possible aggressors or violators of Peace in the Pacific arena. The bad news is that the US, as a representative of the MIC rather than of the US population would initiate military action were it to be evident that a peaceful unification was about to take place.

It was happy with rattling the stick to USA rather than focus on actual matters of defence & economy. The One China Principle was the beginning of the end for the CCP because it was a straw man argument that had no substance. Would it be enough to carry China across the Taiwan straits?
