Got lucky with that one. I would like to see some videos where something breaks and you have to tear the wall apart. Be cool to see that before and after.

These seat kit replacements are so fascinating. I used to live in a place that had a bit broke off the seat and we were changing seals all of the time. Now I know why , and should have just called a plumber. I love your videos Steve and thanks for uploading.

I find it good practice to leave all the trim off until the water is turned on, especially if you are looking for a leak. Also wasn't there a thread cap gasket supplied with the new stem? I didn't see one on re assembly of the shower valve. Everytime you tighten anything with a tool and I get a workout holding my breath being afraid you will break it or strip the threads lol lol Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work.

I like to keep tension on the wrench/cheater pipe, while I tap on the cheater ... sort of like an impact wrench effect. BTW, that tub spout was installed pretty high.

I know you explained this in a previously, I forgot. What are you checking when you shake that piece. The one where it sounds like a ball bouncing around. Almost like shaking a spray paint can.

I don't know but I'm guessing he is checking that whatever is in there isn't jammed or stuck somehow. I guess it would also be a quick check to make sure it isn't more than one piece. It might be a ball.

When the TA-10 valve assembly is shaken the hot/ cold balancing device needs to be free so it can work. When shaken, if it does not make a noise, it needs to be replaced.

what's the tool Steve whips out at 6:35? Most "seats" are just one part that you can remove with a seat wrench. This is interesting because it looks like two separate parts?

Anyone know why symmons just decided to change there entire tool set for the seats? I had to get a whole new tool set to rebuild these. I thought I was loosing my mind when my old tool set no longer worked on the new seats.
