Whoa! The inventory! The tools! The knowledge! You fixed in a half hour what it would have taken most DIY people 5 trips to the plumbing supply for tools and parts and all day cussing. Best "Hire a Pro" video I've seen.

Completely-agree. AND, it would have taken the typical Handi-hack, who doesn't charge much less than a real, experienced plumber, the same 5 trips to the store. And he wouldn't have put in that improved spindle with the brass piece, because he wouldn't have known its importance.

Looks like the commercial type shower/tub valve combo that is often seen in hotels/motels

Our local plumber on the West Coast had never installed a Symmons shower valve before. He thought it was strange you had to rotate the knob CCW for hot water. I told him it was an East Coast thing that's normal.

One of the first plumbing companies I worked for used Grumman step vans, which aren't great for highway travel, but they serviced mostly East Providence, east side of Providence, Warren and Barrington, so they didn't need to go on the highway.

Steve is the man. But i don’t agree using regular plumbers grease on that diverter, or any O-ring because it’s petroleum base. Use silicone plumbers grease instead. If I’m wrong someone let me know.

No one knows these valves as well as Steve. He services so many of them on a regular basis.

Are those hose Simmons valves an East Coast thing? Although I'm a handyman, not a plumber, I've yet to see one where I live in California. Now that I asked, watch me run into a bunch of them! BTW, contrary to popular beliefs, there are a lot of "Brandon" fans over here!
